  1. Someone on here demanded a rematch. It was dismissed as impossible, which it probaly is. But, if it could be proved VAR delibaretly tried to prevent the goal, and I'm not advocating they did, what would the consequenses be? If they did it on purpose and it can be proved they did, surely the match has to be played again,or? I know it's speculation and all that, but if?
  2. Excellent. In isolation we'd never appeal this card. It would be fruitless. Either our club sits on some info we don't have, or they're just not letting this go easily. Good to see, wartime.
  3. Wow. That was some performance. Having started the last two games with Oliver and Kavanaugh, even Tierney and Coote couldn’t help us out. Oliver and Kavanaugh are just not very good at this are they? Rarely gives away wrong pens and cards. They should be kept long away from our matches against Liverpool. This one was different though, an absolute beauty of a game. We were at it from the start and even when Simon (Cooper) failed to give that rat Curtis Jones a red, Darren (England) came to his rescue with ”the clear and obvious error rule”. Brilliant show with stills and slow motion really helped Simon to rectify his mistake. Did you see Klopp at the sidelines? ;-) Take that you ugly smiling kraut! What happened next was really beautiful, one of the best and proudest moments of officiating ever. A moment to remember, surely a contender to Ref decision of the year. First the linesman manages to wave off for offside a player who’s a yard on. Cooper follows up disallowing the goal. And then the fast interplay between Darren and Simon to quickly restart the match and voila! Problem solved! As good as it could possibly get that. Even though we’d done brilliantly this Liverpool side were still giving us a fight. We really had to dig deep. Simon did brilliantly by preparing a second sending off by giving Jota a yellow. The first yellow is never noticed much, but becomes very handy when there’s a second chance to dish out another yellow. Just proper good understanding of the game from Simon there. All in all a solid match against difficult opposition. Simon deserves it too, but MOM has to be given to Darren England especially after his hilarious explanation after disallowing that goal. The match did probably cost us a bit, and we we’ll be faced with a suspension. Hopefully both Darren and Simon will be back and ready for the next time we meet Liverpool though. Our friends in the Middle East are probably happy too, and we should look forward to nice trips over there in the coming months.
  4. I used to agree with Dave U the problem with VAR is the "clear and obvious error" bullshit, but it's not. The problem is that PGMOL sometimes say they can't interfere becasue it isn't a clear and obvious error (Macca's red card) , yet the next day they interfere beacuse there may be a slight possibility the on field ref was wrong (Jones' yellow changed to red). I used to think it was just incompetence, but it's now reached a level where you have to ask the question.: Coincidence? Really?
  5. Absolutely right. If a player speaks out, he'll be suspended and fined. Same with the manager. The only ones at the club who can really speak out the truth is us, the fans. I expect a reaction with banners and songs from the Kop, Let's make it 100% certain that every dubious deciition the crooked fuckers make will be studied and questioned, Let's make sure their next biased decision WILL BE seen as proof of corruption.
  6. Remember how VAR explained they could't correct the ref after Maccas red card a month ago, because it wasn't a "clear and obvious" mistake? There was no need for "clear and obvios mistake" when the ref gave Jones a yellow was it?
  7. He seems to be very careful and picky when he selects his boys. Can't be more than a couple of hundreds ;-)
  8. Dominik Szoboszlai He appears with a humble and polite attitude, yet at the same time oozes inteligence and authority. You wan't see this lad taking Englissh classes the next few years. He's probably finished them already. There's no way Dave can call him "my boy". It's just not right. Has to be the other way around with Dave being "Dom's boy"
  9. Song? Captain Fantastic. Because that's who he'll be starting next season.
  10. Dave’s boy is doing just fine. I bet when opponent’s defenders look at the team sheat, they’re not overjoyed to see Darwin starting Wind back the clock! Aug 20th 2012: Re Luis Suarez . "The forward scored 11 goals in 31 league outings last season and has 21 goals in 54 appearances since joining from Ajax in January 2011 for £22.7m. McAllister said: "I can see him chipping in with a good amount of goals but is he somebody who is going to get 25 plus? I'm not so sure. " Link: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/19312316
  11. Scudamore's birthday coming up?
  12. Thanks, great report after a great game. I can't remember who, but I heard some pundit say something like: "There's a huge difference between pressing high and simply playing a high line...". We had Mo, Diaz and Darwin, all players with speed who likes to make those runs in behind. There was absolutetly no chance a high line could work. Before Klopp 2.0 we really didn't have midfielders threatening to score from outside the box. Now, we have Szobo, Gary Mac and Trent. We'll se more goals from midfield this season and as a result also see gaps appear for throughballs and balls over the top when defences try to prevent goals from a distance.
  13. Red card incident: Maybe once a match. Game's-probably stopped anyway with player down/medics. 40 mins added time? Slightly exaggerated?
  14. He'll get 3. Revenge after Macca's ban was canceled by a neutral panel. That and the fact they still isn't finished with punishing us after Klopp last year.Perfect situation to set an example. Had it been an England player from some other club, max 2 matches or just the one. Maybe even none
  15. For game changing decisions like pens and red cards the bar for VAR to be involved shouldn't be "clear and obvious mistake", simply: "This is a diffucult call, go and have a look again om the monitor" and we should all be OK with a ref sticking to his initial decision. For it to work refs must have the cojones to reconsider and admit they were wrong in the first place, so that rules oiut the PL refs I'm afraid.
  16. They've maneuvered themselves into a corner and can't get out with this "clear and obvious" nonsense. And what is this supporting your mate rubbish Dean talks about? Is it better to watch a mistake from your mate, do nothing about it, and let him hang out to dry with all the pundits in the world having a laugh at his incompetence? Wouldn't a real mate try to bail him out of that by asking him to have a second view right there on the pitch? IMO the only waty out of the corner is to make it obligatory for the ref to look at red cards and pen situations a second time, Maybe unless it's clear and obvious he won't change his mind.
  17. Al Ahli, Al Ittihad or Al "insert name". Who the f*** cares? I can call you BettyAnd Betty, when you call me, you can call me Al
  18. Fluminense are playing a 2 legged quarter final in the Copa Libertadores with the 2nd leg being played Sept 1st 1:30 AM (GMT+1). If they win they'll probably want to keep him. But if If they don't we might be able to sign him. There'll be time enough to get the deal dome before the windows closes at 11:00 PM, right? So, we probably can't expect any definite news regarding Andre until the very end of the window, Roomers have it we've agreed personal terms with him. Is it time enough to bring him to Liverpool and a med check? Or maybe our doctors could travel to Brazil and do the med checjk there?
  19. Thank you football Gods Perfect week-end really: Win No suspension Well needed rest for Macca before difficult fixtures Egg on Thieney's face Love it! Hallalujah
  20. Re: MacAllister red card: If you had a panel of 100 pro refs with the benefit of replays and videos and gave them 4 options to judge the incident: A. Nothing here, play on! B. Free kick to Bournemouth C. Free kick and yellow card to Macca D. Free kick and red card This would be a probable result: A. 3 votes (IMO wrong) B. 48 votes C. 48 votes D. 1 vote (Tierney) How can it get any more clear and obvious than that.
  21. I agree. If Lavia wanted a chance to prove himself he’d come to us. Here he’d be given extended chances and probably a place in the starting XI. At Chelsea, he’s always going to be behind Enzo F / Caicedo. Absolutely a silly decision, except if money was the reason. Silly, greedy or both. It’s OK he’s not with us
  22. I don't think we'd buy Endo had we succeeded with Caicedo. In that respect Endo is in fact a kind of Caicedo alternative, We didn't get our man. Maybe our transfer guys and sunshine Ibiza boy did fuck up, but we also have to accept the fact we were up against Drunken Sailor Boehly on this. Had we bid 2 billion pounds for Caicedo, he'd bid 2,1. All I'm sayibng is we shouldn't panic and go for some 3rd or 4th choice alternative. Remember 2011? We wanted Ashley Young, couldn’t get our man. Crowd went: ”Go for 2nd choice!”. We did, got Stewart Downing. Not smart! Stop gap sollution seems wiser to me.
  23. We only went for Endo because we couldn't get Caicedo. Why would you want to buy Endo before we knew that? IMO the panic move would be to pay way over the odds for someone like Palhinha. To me this is not panic, just sensible.
  24. DM isn’t an easy position. You need stamina, a good engine and willingness to stick your foot in and yes I agree it’s not about flair and creativity. But the most important thing, the thing that makes it difficult, is inside the head. You need vision, anticipation and quick thinking to sniff out dangers before they happen. Cutting off angels, shutting down open spaces, cover runs etc might seem easy. IMO it’s not, it needs a special talent.
