  1. The way I saw it too. When Kloppo took Robbo, Macca and Gakpo off and replaced them with Tsimikas and kids, I admit my reaction was: "We better score a lucky goal before XT if we're going to win this. If we give Chelsea 30 extra mins we're dead". Only, they didn't take advantage, we were arguably the better team in XT. If there's actually such a thing as a Chelsea fan, he or she should be really pissed off by their teams abmyssal effort in XT. Takes nothing away from our kids though.
  2. It may be unpopular but I agree with you. Endo offside? Check! Did he interfer with the play? Check! People seem to compare the block from Endo with other incidets after corners etc. They're missing the point. The goal wasn't overruled because of Endo's block alone, it was disallowed because he was offside and interferred with the play. We've been thoroughly shaftet by Refs and VAR repeatdely this season. This, however, was not one to complain about.
  3. They better do as we probably have to give our grown ups a rest for this one. It feels like FA cup success depends on the football gods. If we beat Soton (we really should even with the U-14s) it could be ManC away for the QF or Coventry/Maidstone at Anfield.
  4. Sparta Praha is as good as it could be. I only wanted to avoid Milan (tough match), Rome (safety for our supporters) and Quarabag (long trip). Everyone else would be OK with Sparta Praha arguably the best draw we could have. Now let's just get Coventry at Anfield for the FA quarter and we'll be able to give key players som rest in this run in. 2 matches every week from now on.
  5. Never happy but we need them to win occasionally to keep Ten Hag in his job. That somewhat eases the pain.
  6. Xabi's not an idiot. He'll know he's going to be axed unless he's an immediiate success at Real Madrid. Here he'll be give the time needed. Maybe's his heart is also in Liverpool.
  7. I've seen somebody comparing this to Ferguson leaving Man U, but it's very different. In 2013 ManU lost a great manager In 2024 Liverpool FC lost a great manager AND one hell of a decent compassionate Man. Vielen dank, Jurgen, for making me dream again Vielen dank, Jurgen, for making those dreams come true. Your next job will probably be managing "der Mannschaft". Good luck!
  8. Could easily be that somehow info was leaked, and they knew it would get out anyway. Better then to reveal the news yourself. How can we say the timing is wrong when we don't know the facts?
  9. Against Fulham 9/10 forwards, especially if they were on a goal drought, would shoot from a tight angel. Darwin? No, a clever little cutback to Gakpo instead. Great thinking, superb awareness that. And proof the ”shit Andy Carrol chants” doesn’t affect him. Darwin probably doesn’t know who Andy Carrol is, but if he himself is a shit version of the man I guess he wonders how extremely good that Carrol guy must’ve been.
  10. If Ronaldo (not "Real Ronaldo" but "Pretty boy Ronaldo") had gone on a goal drought and was in Darwin's shoes, what would he do? He'd shoot from a tight angle, maybe scoring probably not. Darwin? he cuts back to Gakpo for a lovely finish. The awareness, cool and unselfishness deserves all the praise we can give him. Gakpo should be salutede too of course.
  11. A real shame I agree. To be fair many of us do however recognise and respect his efforts. You can hear his name being sung during matches a lot and I believe Darwin can feel the support. What's more, I think he needs it. We're many who'll follow general Usher and die on Darwin Hill
  12. Does anyone have a record of how many goals we as a team have scored with Darwin on the pitch this season as opposed to goals scored without him?
  13. Apparently Darwin has 8 goals and 10 assists to his name halfway through this season, on course for app. 36 goal involvements this year. Not too bad for a guy who's taken an overdose of the anti-scoring vaccine. Can't wait for the vaccine to wear off. I'm still on Darwin Hill fighting. I'm far from alone, almost all of us are
  14. No need to give them any fancy ideas. Much better for them to sign proven quality, Romelu Lukaku and Jordan Hendrson! That would sort them. And... don't bin their clever gaffer.
  15. Absolutely right. The positive is that the more the pay the deeper they dig their own grave. Makes me wonder if we actually did compete for Caicedo or we just had bit of fun with Boehly.
  16. I know it’s now forbidden, but this 8 years contract stunt with spreading the cost over an 8 year period is in itself destructive. In 2030, probably long after Caicedo stopped playing for them, they’d have to deduct around 15M from their transfer budget because of that transfer back in 2023. We have a saying where I live ”pissing in your pants to keep warm”. That’s exactly what they’re doing. It’s not impossible, I’d even say probable, Chelsea won’t be a PL team 5 years from now.
  17. FA cup's become what Milk cup's been for years. You'd like to either win it or be out of it at the first opportunity. Winning the Milk cup and being knocked out by Arsenal in the FA cup suits me fine.
  18. Quite right. And Luis Suarez netted 15 league goals in his first 1 1/2 season for us. Darwin is now at 13, his goals pr. minute played being quite a bit better than Luis. We just have to wait until Darwin starts missing the woodwork.
  19. Love his hairdo, reminds me of some freak psycho from one of those old horror movies. My nams is Darwin Bates, I'm just a normal guy My nams is Darwin Bates, I'm just a normal guy
  20. Count me in on the Darwin Ridge battle. And he can keep his cute little braids too. Only man alive to dress like a school girl and still look lika a predator - Hombre!
  21. If they hire a new gaffer and Manu end 8th in the league, they'll all be screaming. They all seem to believe they have some devine right to be the best club in England, and 8th is just unaccetable. When Kloppo ended 8th in his firt season here, we all looked at it as a new beginng. To lead a top football club it's not enough to know the football stuff, you need to be a an expert psychologist as well. Klopp is both, ten Hag is neither.
  22. According to Mail Online: ”It is also claimed that the Dutchman made his squad listen to the reception that greeted the champions from the away end - a stark comparison to the home faithful's reaction, or what was left of it. Ten Hag, who has reportedly planned to give his players an extra day off if they won the derby, ripped into his team after the game, saying that they can 'never' play like his successful Ajax team.” Is this really true? My oh my. He’s trying to whip confidence into his team. And then making excuses for himself. Could you imagine Kloppo doing the same if going through a bad period? Sad thing is Ten Hag looks like a ”dead man walking” – Prepare for a new ”Someone’s having a big laugh”-thread . If you’re a gambling man, next manager to be sacked looks to be certain bet.
  23. Football wouldn't be the same without the warm and smiling face of their Mr. Charm gaffer would it?
  24. It was much easier 15 years ago. Back then I just wanted them to lose on every occasion. Ever since Solskjaer it’s a painful mix though. Obviously I still like to see them lose, but I don’t want them to sack their gaffer, so I also want them to win from time to time. And now with them playing in the CL. I’d like to see them beaten, but I don’t want to see them in the EL after ending 3rd in their group. Do I want them to qualify for the last 16 or don’t I? It’s doing my head in.
  25. We need to win the group to avoid those extra 2 games. There's a slight chance we might do that.
