  1. That might well be, but does that mean Barry would get fewer assists when playing a more central role? Certainly not, he might get even more as a result of being more involved. Alsno also takes a fair few set pieces, dosent seem to get him a lot of assists does it? So Barry is playing as a forward? I haven seen that much of Aston Villa, but I would be very surprised if you find a single person who agrees with you on this (not that that would stop you stating it as fact). I´m not bigging up Barry. I prefer Alonso. I was just answering the question about what Barry brings to the team that Alonso does not.
  2. I'd call that clutching at straws. Could you explain how that has any relevance?
  3. Here you go (Starts/Goals/Assists) this season: Alonso (31/2/4) Barry (36/6/6) last season: Alonso (23/2/2) Barry (38/9/10) Some of Barrys goals were penalties granted, but i'd be suprised if he didn't outscore Alonso even if penalties were removed from the stats. And still, the difference in number of assists is pretty significant.
  4. Goals? Assists? (Insignificant, I know, just thought i'd mentioned it)
  5. In the book it is portrayed as he had a lot of respect for LFC and Bill Shankly in particular.

I prefer to put more emphasis one the performance on the pitch than whatever cliches players are spouting to the papers...
  7. Brilliant performance! And the reason why we don´t play like this all the time? Well, my guess is that you need your players really fired up in order to do so. You just can´t expect them to put in a shift like that at the JJB (unless it´s the stakes are really high, for instance title deciding last game of the season).
  8. I didn't bother reading through 13 pages of tripe, so I'll just leave a quick note in case noone has made it clear yet: Rafa is not the one responsible for neither offering nor negotiating players contracts at LFC. (Obviously there was some misunderstanding regarding this in the first couple of pages I actually bothered to read)
  9. Kuyt! He loves running up and down that touchline. Don't believe it'll happend, but i bet it would be great!
  10. Did you notice when he set up Riera yesterday? After one of his classic diagnoal runs i might add...
  11. I saw that as well. I also noticed Carra gifted City the ball with a few stray passes.
  12. The decision to dissalow uniteds goal in first half was harsh. Just thought i´d mention it amongst all these conspiracy theories...
  13. So you want a manager who takes the fans opinion into consideration when selecting the team? Maybe you should apply for the job and set up a poll on here for each game, so we could all give our expert opinions. Only downside would be that you'd have to take all the blame when it went tits up. I could live with that.
  14. I didn't get to watch the match last night. Do you know if there is a DVD forthcoming?
  15. Nr 2 you've got sligtly wrong i think. It's only if the referee admits to have made a mistake the card will be rescinded. And the explanation is that the FA don't want to undermine the authority of the refs. Their job is shit enough already...
  16. I agree. Thought it was a good match where we were rewared for our patience in the end. Was very impressed with how we restricted Chelsea. They've scored more than anyone on their travels this season (i think), but yesterday they didn't look like scoring at all.
