  1. Would have agreed until I visited Hong Kong with the wife. The Chinese food we had was top class. Incredibly spicy - nothing like the shit served up here.
  2. I trust in Klopp. I believe in 2-3 years,we will really begin to see the fruits of his work. We need to give him time. He can't think with his heart like us fans. Yeah we would like to fuck off the likes of Hendo and Moreno, but it would be daft of Jurgen to publicly come out and have a go at them. They along with more than half the squad are not good enough for our club - if jurgen thinks they are,i'm fairly sure it won't be long before he sees otherwise.Having a go at them only reduces transfer value. In saying that,i'd be seriously happy if we could get a hard bastard like Medel in midfield. I actually think we are not that far away from being a very decent team - Karius and Matip are going to be top class for us. In the youth and reserves,we have some serious talents (fair enough we always do and they normally end up at Tranmere or somewhere). I'm confident that Woodburn,Ojo,Wilson,Gomes,Ejaria and Masterson can have a future with us. There is so much to be annoyed about right now. My gut tells me it might be a tough year if Mane and Sturridge miss alot of games. The Mancs could well win another 2 titles before we are even in the mix to challenge. However,i do believe that Jurgen can make us dream again.
  3. Well put. Jesus right through from the 60s to the late 80s we had a team of fellas that were like Mascherano and Luis. I remember hearing how McMahon and Whelan used to team up to kick lumps out of whatever resident hardcase came to Anfield...they all went home with a nice defeat and a few tasty bruises. Can you imagine Hendo and Lallana doing that? Instead,it's Nivea products and Coldplay before the game.
  4. I like Hart. He was a very good keeper and he will come through his bad form. He is one of the few English players that are/can be top class and he seems like a decent lad too. It will be interesting where he goes - I heard West Ham mentioned on here but they have Adrian who is very decent and Randolph their number 2 is a decent keeper who would be number 1 for half the teams in the league. The issue that I see is that (a) we have far more pressing issues such as left back and putting steel in the midfield (b) we signed probably one of the most promising keepers in Europe with a view to him growing into the finished product. Having Hart in the background adds the pressure because the media will be chomping at the bit for him to come in if Karius makes a mistake or two, which will inevitably happen at some point (see De Gea in his first 12-18 months at the Mancs). I would push the boat out for Medel. A top class midfielder who would give us a bit of villainy which we clearly lack badly. We would not be over-run in there with him. Regarding left-back, an upgrade isn't too hard.
  5. I love Jurgen but Moreno must have something on him. Hard to fathom how a world class manager could rate that clown.
  6. Glory hunting in 1990? :D A bit like a nazi youth coming of age around the time that Hitler is in his bunker as the Soviets and Americans advance. If you're a glory hunter, you picked a shite time to join the party lad. Wish I could turn back time myself to that magical summer when the Mancs were shite and City and Chelsea were crap as well. People went to Chelsea to buy flowers back then (not me obviously as I'm a proper hard case  ) as opposed to joining one of the "elite" club teams in the world (I hate a footballing world where Chelsea, City or PSG have more pulling power than Liverpool or the two Milans)!!
  7. It will end badly but i think they may win a title or two first. They resemble the wealthy businessman in Vegas who is taking chances that he doesn't need to,all for his own ego and self-importance.if they don't win trophies with that net spend, they could be in trouble. Kante is for me a better player.
  8. Come on Ireland. Btw I like Hendrick. I think he has a good future in the game, though i don't think he has it in his locker to be top class. Brady is very good.
  9. Spot on. A solid minority of the England fans want agro with locals and think singing songs about germans, the IRA and throwing plastic chairs make them hard. Those Russians are evil fuckers but at least it's bruised a few of these plazzy hard men's egos, albeit if some good English got caught up in it. I was at the ireland sweden and switzerland albania games and all the fans were brilliant, especially the Irish and Swedes. My brother looks like Aldo and when they heard the thick scouse accent,it was priceless. I would never have that kind of fun watching England. In fact, i'd probably get a load of cockneys going on about thieving scousers with their usual reportoire of shite while thinking they're fucking ronnie kray.
  10. Did he mention that balmy night in the Nou Camp?
  11. Mane is somewhere between a good and a very good player. Just like Shane Long. They both suit a club chasing 4th but probably finishing 5th or 6th. I like them both to be honest. However, if we have any desire to put the blocks in place to challenge for a title,we need to be aiming higher by getting either truly world class players like Higuain or guys that have the potential to get to that level, like the Mancs with Martial or us with Karius or Can. I trust Jurgen though and i've no doubt that we will enter next season a much improved team.
  12. 2 years time: united win the league pipping chelsea by one point.liverpool finish 4th. 5 years time: jurgen klopp leads liverpool to their 2nd title in a row. Mourinho wins the French title with psg.
  13. Fair point. Though i would consider him and Keane a world class pair. Not many better from that era.
  14. Schmeicheal, irwin, robson, van niestelroy, ronaldo, keane, scholes and giggs were undoubtedly world class players in their positions. Ferguson had a few others that were world class like Vidic but i can't be arsed naming them all.Park your dislike of them and recognise they have had great players and Scholes was one of them. If he played for us, we would have loved him.
  15. To be fair, i always made a few quid from trips to Upton Park, what with the generous Cockney scamps throwing coins at us impoverished scousers. Proper gents innit.
  16. Ignore the dopes. It says how small time they have become that they mention us. In reality, any big club should feel ashamed at their season this year, bar Spurs. At least we have alot to look forward to with Jurgen. They might sign a bench player for Iceland and lose Lukaku.
  17. It's simple. Most blues over about 40 are sound. They remember when Everton were a huge club, but more importantly remember when there was a real civic pride in the city. Most under 40 are seriously bitter and deluded talking about footy. I've lost count of the amount of times my nephews who are lovely lads turn into mutants when Liverpool are mentioned.it's like puting Gizmo in water.
  18. Loads of top Belgians of all colours to be fair. I used to be very involved in youth coaching and i know the Belgian federation pumped some amount of money in a few years back to coaching when it became clear they were in serious decline.
  19. On a personal level,i worked with quite a few mancs and most were sound. Alot of them were almost identical to me in terms of background and outlook on life. As a city,it's almost like London in terms of friendliness. Maybe it's the Irish influence, but you could walk into any bar in Liverpool and be having a laugh with strangers in minutes. You don't get that in Manchester - to be fair maybe in Salford or somewhere it might be more earthy. Not all Mancs are knobheads. Just a sizeable minority of especially their younger element, but that ain't too different to Liverpool or most other places i guess. Manchester ain't got our history as a city. They think they're fucking Venice.
  20. England do reasonably well when they are written off i.e they go out in a peno shootout in the last 16 or quarters to a really good side. When they are really talked up, they normally shit their pants. The Germans won't be too upset about this. Meanwhile, our lionhearts will be plotting the taking of Paris in July and begin to genuinely believe they are the best team in Europe.
  21. Bbc reporting that our fans ripped up seats and fucked them at the Mancs. they reckon uefa will take action against us. Rte (irish channel) reporting vile chanting from Mancs and says uefa likely to take action against them. I think Uefa will make an example of us. Hopefully, they do the same for them.
  22. I used to work with an Irish lad who was a relation of the great Liam Whelan who died at Munich. He used to get seriously pissed off at how a terrible tragedy was used to justify them singing about us. He was a proper gentleman and a true football man though even if he understandably supported United. They make alot less like him these days. I do feel Fergie played a big part in stirring this up allied to the fact we dominated them for 30 odd years. He actively encouraged that sort of tribalism. Great manager but a thug below the service. Now, it's got to the stage where it's almost mainstream with them to sing that shit, whereas it's a small small minority of our support. Maybe i'm biased but i definitely think that's the case. Having said that, lets ensure that next Thursday our own knobs are silenced.
  23. Spot on. I think back to the darkest days of Souey's reign. We had proven top class winners like Rush, barnes, whelan, nicol, molby and grobelar (albeit all past their best) and a few top class younsters coming through. A few years ago, we had Stevie or Torres, Carra and Reina etc. This team has three players in Sturridge(a crock), Coutinho (still hit and miss) and Firmino (still adjusting) who wouldn't be out of place in any team in the league. The rest are highly talented youngsters who blow hot and cold like Can or Origi or England squad or B level players like Lallana and Henderson who aren't bad, but don't belong at a club with any level of ambition.
  24. Looks a cracking talent this lad up front for the danish team. Would be worth a punt. I lool forward to seeing him bang in twenty goals for stoke next season.
