  1. The touts will love those arrangements. They will have handfuls of cards with 12+ games on them in a season or 2.
  2. And what, that is going to make them sell up and leave? It wont, it will make them stick in there for the long haul until things come good and someone is willing to stump up big bucks for the club. People seem to have forgotten that the club is still a potentially wonderful, mutli-million pound profit making machine. Judging by the RBS response, they have no intention of rejecting any refinancing business from LFC. Looking at the level of custom they are getting as of now, it would be an awful business decision. They are obviously fully commited to a long term and very lucrative relationship with the club.
  3. I have never seen him on one. I think he may be banned from using them. He lifts some amount of weight though for a small lad.
  4. There is a guy in my gym who is Dirk's double. Just thought I would add that.
  5. After keeping Wigan in the PL for those 4 years, backed by such a limited fan base and financial resources, he obviously isnt inept as a businessman. So, I am now wondering if this article may be "factually incorrect", putting it politely. Or should we just be outraged because it refers to the Mancs?
  6. If you dont limit the amount of shares then you will end up with a scenario of a sequence or one multi-millionaire grabbing a high percentage of the club.
  7. Agree with this but I cant see RBS pulling the plug. It would be an extremely poor business decision. Also, I would be very wary of singing the praises of any MPs etc for championing the cause in the political arena. All of them will have their own hidden motives for doing so (eg. Mr. Kilfoyle and his leaning towards a ground share in the city).
  8. Under the current system, they would not get the time to grow into the top PL players that they are and would be overlooked and replaced by run of the mill players bought in. I always want to see the best XI out there playing for the club but I find it a little sad that the Carras and Gerrards of today will choose other PL clubs (Everton for example) over us because they know they wont get games and thus a chance to reach their full potential here.
  9. I disagree. His hair is receding at a shocking rate for a lad in his early 20s.
  10. 100% agree with you on this. It would probably cause WWIII initially but would lead to a better and more professional union. I know a few lads who are long time members of an irish supporters site. I left it last year. One of them was telling me that all posts in relation to this Munich incident are deleted and the threads are locked. Questioning the union is not allowed it seems and people are being told to go elsewhere if they are not happy with that rule. This type of attitude is not on. One thing I love about this site is that we can discuss all issues, openly and honestly, like mature, intelligent adults.
  11. So, we should pay even more for english/british players who are half as good as their "foreign" equivalent, just to keep the club british/english. When Gerrard and Carra retire, we will probably have no locals in the team. Should we bring in one or 2 local lads, who might not be within pissing distance of the grade just to have some local lads in the team?
  12. No but it was at an SOS event. The SOS cannot be responsible for what happens at OT or Anfield in relation to our fans but they are responsible for what goes on at their functions. Most of our fans at Anfield and OT are not members of the union. The fact that they didnt issue a press release before the shit hit the fan, condemning this disgraceful incident is the biggest let down of it all. They should be ashamed of themselves. Coupling that with the likes of the Shields protests they supported the weekend before the anniversary of Hillsborough, I havent been impressed with this union one iota and I am happy that I didnt part with £10 of my hard earned money.
  13. Absolutely correct. The fact that he was left there for so long is the worst part but every contributor should have been checked before they were let on stage. An empty stage is better than that fucking muck. It certainly doesnt represent me or the generations of local reds in my family. Its smacks of amateurism and if that leaks to Mancs sites, they have every right to have a massive pop at the union. If a manc union did something like that regarding Hillsborough, we would be petitioning and protesting left, right and centre. It was obvious where it was going from the first minute and the sound should have been cut and the act whipped of the stage immediately. Also, the union should have issued a press release condeming what went on before this became public knowledge, instead of waiting and reacting. Some cynics might suggest that they would never had bothered condeming this if it wasnt released on the net. As for having a piss up, who gives a fuck. I wouldnt be seen dead at something like that but if people want to have a few drinks in celebration, let them. The union was set up to get rid of G+H. That is the yardstick by which we should judge them.
  14. I dont believe the stats released in relation to the purchase rate for PTS members for one second but IF 25% of people who are PTS members bought no tickets last season, they are essentially giving the club £55.00 for nothing in return. So now, instead of taking the £55.00 for nothing from wasteful silly people, the club is will only be taking £29.00 from silly people for nothing. Another masterful marketing and financial decision from the club. Any other business or club in the world would be delighted to get money for nothing. The reason why the PTS is being cancelled is because it is being utilised by a core element of the support to go to games week in week out, who dont spend in the club shop etc. The club now wants to re-allocate these tickets to fans who will only attend a handful of games a season and spend money in the club shop etc when they arrive.
  15. A taxi driver called Dave, who is a blue, was telling me that one of his mate works for a removal company and they are booked in to collect from Xabi's house next week for transport to Spain.
  16. It would also be a disaster for the PL. The tv revenue which most of the clubs in the league need to survive would be slashed. It would be a league of super powers and the game throughout the rest of the continent would fall further and further behind on and off the pitch. Also, the level of commericalism would be sickening and turn any decent football fan off going to games.
  17. Bang on. I thought he was a disgrace at times particularly towards the end. If he acted like that against us, he would be slaughtered here. He was the only stain on Barca last night for me.
  18. Thankfully, I have never been laid off and my current job looks solid, tips desk 10 times. However, there are an awful lot of companies using this recession to screw employees. The company I work for now, made a profit of €5bn last year. A few months ago we were called in to the office and told that permanent staff were going to receive no pay rise in the current business year and that contract staff were "requested" to take a 10% cut in daily rates. Like we actually had a choice. The last company I worked for were an absolute nightmare for not paying up. I left last September as I had my fill of getting calls during non-work hours and their unprofessional nonsense. In January of this year, they let all bar 3 of their IT staff go and moved their operations to Belarus as they wanted to 'streamline the business' (get the job done for next to nothing abroad). They made the staff sign an agreement that they wouldnt go to the media before they kicked them out the door. It was very much a 'tell the media and we will shaft you when you come looking for a reference' joby. The same fuckers were constantly ringing, IMing and emailing me looking for help (for free of course) after they booted out the staff.
  19. He is a good player in a bad team at the moment and I would see him as a good squad addition. He would also be cheap considering that Boro are going down.
  20. I switched over to Jeff Stelling on saturday as this was reported and he labelled him and absolute disgrace. Looking at that he was bang on. No surprise Celtic are posting the vid.
