  1. Forgot about that, used to make me cry laughing as a kid. Just hope little Frank can cope. A real snipers dream.
  2. If i followed him into battle, one of my bullets would have his name firmly engraved on it, the Frank Sidebottom headed bellwhiff.
  3. That may be the case but the Fatfuck hails from Croxteth, soz mate.
  4. If the financial situation gets any worse, take yer boots and you might get a game. Not quite 'Get down to Goodison' though
  5. I have had a season ticket since 84 and i gave it up in 2008 it fucking hurt like hell but i will not see another penny of my hard earned cash go to tgat pair of pricks. I made my missus and my ma take merchandise back to the shop, they where annoyed at first but they understand now. This institution is fucking dying on it's feet thanks to those 2 shitehawks and i won't step foot back inside until either they leave or die!
  6. Thanks mate i appreciate that, in my experience some of the house fires i have been to, if it wasn't for the bravery of the Police making a rescue before we arrived, then we would have had more fatalities and i and my colleagues appreciate that. I have served in 2 fire services, the first we had a real bad relationship with both ambulance and police, not all i hasten to add, no idea why. Where i work now (Lancashire), we have an excellent working relationship, especially the police, i think a lot of this is due to the large amount of multi agency community work that we do, as part of my current role i have been involved in multi agency training and community meetings. It does seem odd that in some areas we can't get on, without the help of each other our jobs would be a lot harder. Although i think you would agree that both services have their fair share of knobheads that give us a bad name. The funny thing is the day i started in the FS i had my final interview for the Police, how different things could have been.
  7. Aveez, i am afraid we will have to agree to disagree on this one. But please let me once again say that your gender, size, nor television habits had anything to do with it. What i will say is that when i first joined 15 years ago, it was like a boys club, that i won't deny. In the last 10 or so years the job has changed significantly. I now have to account for every minute of every day with regards to what i and my watch do, both on station and out in the community. I don't know where you are from but if you are in and around merseyside, please feel free to go onto any station or mine snd see what we do. It probably won't change your mind but it will show we do eat other things rather than chilli.
  8. Apologies for the spelling i have been off the ale for 9 months and have just had half a bottle of vino with me tea, i feel quite ill now, believe me.
  9. I apologise for the lateness of my reply but i have spent most of the afternoon sleeping off the huge amounts of chilli that i have eaten, then spent the last half an hour cleaning cat fur of my uniform (i haven't attended a singe cat stuck in a tree in 15 yrs of being a FF). Aveez i was refering to my first post and the legislation which i shall go on to explain in a minute. It had fuck all to do with you being a woman or what shite you what on telly, i just wanted to respond to the facts. Firstly, in one respect you are right about your employer and the Regulatory Reform Order (RRO) 2005 which was superceded in 2007. What this replaces is the Fire Precautions Act 1971 and Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997. These have absolutely nothing to do with firefighting. Prior to the RRO we used to issue fire certificates to premises, carry out inspections and ensure that the content of the certificate was being adhered to (in laymans terms). We used to be taught the act and carry out inspections as new recruits, not now though. Thanks to the old Labour goverment these powers where taken away from us and as you said it is now the responsibility of your employer to plan fo rthe worst case. We now only give advice and prosecute in circumstances that breach the order. This downside to this is that we are seeing more fires in these premises, the loss of life has increased and the cost of insurance claims has rocketed, so yes you have a right to be concerned. Now to my point about firefighting, the legislation that affects this used to be The Fire Services Act 1947, this has been replaced by the Fire Services Act 2004. We have always had a responsibility to attend fires and carry out rescues. The area that we didn't under the 47 act was RTC's we always did for the humanitarian aspect, under the 2004 act we now do, i make no apologies for quoting it: Sect 8 Road traffic accidents .(1) A fire and rescue authority must make provision for the purpose of— . (a) rescuing people in the event of road traffic accidents in its area; With regards to firefighting the following applies: Sect 7 Fire-fighting .(1) A fire and rescue authority must make provision for the purpose of— . (a) extinguishing fires in its area, and . (b) protecting life and property in the event of fires in its area. (2) In making provision under subsection (1) a fire and rescue authority must in particular— . (a) secure the provision of the personnel, services and equipment necessary efficiently to meet all normal requirements; . (b) secure the provision of training for personnel; . © make arrangements for dealing with calls for help and for summoning personnel; . (d) make arrangements for obtaining information needed for the purpose mentioned in subsection (1); . (e) make arrangements for ensuring that reasonable steps are taken to prevent or limit damage to property resulting from action taken for the purpose mentioned in subsection (1). In conjuction with this, your concern about us entering a building: Sect 44 Powers of fire-fighters etc in an emergency etc . (1) An employee of a fire and rescue authority who is authorised in writing by the authority for the purposes of this section may do anything he reasonably believes to be necessary— . (a)if he reasonably believes a fire to have broken out or to be about to break out, for the purpose of extinguishing or preventing the fire or protecting life or property; . (b) if he reasonably believes a road traffic accident to have occurred, for the purpose of rescuing people or protecting them from serious harm; . © if he reasonably believes an emergency of another kind to have occurred, for the purpose of discharging any function conferred on the fire and rescue authority in relation to the emergency; . (d) for the purpose of preventing or limiting damage to property resulting from action taken as mentioned in paragraph (a), (b) or ©. . (2)In particular, an employee of a fire and rescue authority who is authorised as mentioned in subsection (1) may under that subsection— . (a)enter premises or a place, by force if necessary, without the consent of the owner or occupier of the premises or place; . (b) move or break into a vehicle without the consent of its owner; . © close a highway; . (d)stop and regulate traffic; . (e)restrict the access of persons to premises or a place. . (3)A person commits an offence if without reasonable excuse he obstructs or interferes with an employee of a fire and rescue authority taking action authorised under this section. . (4) A person guilty of an offence under subsection (3) is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale. Hopefully this clears the confusion with regards to the 2 seperate areas. i make no apology for the length of my reply but i felt i needed to set the record straight. Finally to Chris, i am not in the habit of point scoring with the Police, but to say that it is easy as that is far from the truth and you know it. You have a difficult job and so do we, granted not all the time, but you also have quiet periods too. So lets agree to disagree for now.
  10. It's lazy wankers like this that wanted to be fucked off from the job, believe me there are plenty, they give the rest of us who actually care about what we do a bad name. I wouldn't have someone like that anywhere near my watch. Don't believe everything you hear or what you see on Londons Burning. P.S. The post above was meant for Aveez
  11. I'm sorry but as a serving Firefighter, you or whoever told you that is talking bollocks, no one would leave a person to burn to death, however, why put someone at risk by sending them into a derelict building, when there is no benefit.
  12. I feel totally empty inside, we are treading water and are further behind than ever, we are in danger of being overtaken by the likes of spurs and city. I am gutted we didn't get anything today, outplayed and outhought. I couldn't give a flying fuck about united or anyone else, my only thought is for LFC, it pisses me off that people wanted us to lose today, JUST FUCK OFF!!! We have had 20 years since we last won the league and have blown numerous chances to do so. This club is dying on it's feet and until C&A fuck off, we are drifting into the lands of the also rans. I feel so sick and numb at how this season has gone, where the fuck do we go from here?

  16. Am off to Krakow in a couple of weeks and was wondering about the best way to get from the airport to the city centre. Was looking at taxi transfers, there are lots of companies but don't want to pick a dodgy one. Hopefully someone out there will be able to help? Thanks
  17. Another shite rumour going round that he and his missus are having problems. Blueshite taxi drivers eh?
