  1. As a club we are in a position where our main men needs to stand up and be counted, and still Torres and Kuyt were probably the two worst players on the field in the 1st half. Torres really worries me as he just dont seem to give a shit. Constantly withdrawing from challenges. Seems like his heart isnt here anymore and he wants off. Kuyt should NEVER be played in midfield in a 4-4-2. He has not once even played a decnt match in that position. He is useless there. Still, this is a match who is here to be won, but we need to be brave and go for it. Sadly, brave and Hogdson is never going to happen.
  2. Atromitos is greek for Atrocious, right?
  3. There was born a red today Torres Torres Leo was his name they said Torres Torres His daddy came from sunny spain His super sperm has struck again Leo Torres Fernando`s super son Congratulations!
  4. I think the kids would benefit from having 3 or 4 more experienced players around them. There would be no pressure, so they should thrive under it. I know Brad Jones will be picked, but I would have preferred Gulacsi firstly because he is the better keeper, and secondly such a tie, with no pressure, would be the perfect opportunity to give a young GK his first match.
  5. Okay, this is still a week and a half away, but with us already winning the group what kind of team should ve put out. This is really the opportunity to give reserves a chance, and the likes of Suso and amoo should at least make the bench. If everyone is fit I would have lined up as this. Gulacsi Flanagan Kelly Wilson Aurelio Shelvey Poulsen Amoo Pacheco Eccleston Babel Jones Suso Irwin Ngoo Jovanovic Silva Robinson A few experienced players in need of matches, and a bunch of kids. That would be the only way to make this match interesting, as Utrecht is more or less out of it already.
  6. When being asked about the new court hearing Mr Justice Floyd commented. "All in all they`re just another prick on parole"
  7. How many of those goals are penalties? (where`s code when you need him?) And for us he would`nt be taking them. Every time I see him score, it seems like a pen. To make it worse, it`s usually a real poor one, just bubbling across the line. Other teams approach us differently than they do Sunderland, and he wont be effective for us, in my opinion. For £15m I would expect much much better.
  8. Bjørnebye had his obvious flaws and were hugely critisized for his crossing, but in the 1996/97 season when he made the PFA team of the year he had 19 assists. If our current fullbacks manages 10 assist amongst them that would be a huge improvement.
  9. Still think he will get a call up soon??
  10. Why would we pay £15m for a penalty taker? Gerrard have been very clinical from the spot the last few years, and luckily he saved his miss for England. If we sign Bent for £15m +, that would be the day I give up on football. Also, his name is Darren, no one good at anything is named Darren.
  11. It will be interesting to see what team we send out there. With Agger and carra out, this is the time to give Kelly or Wilson a chance in their natural position. I would like to see a mix of experience and promise. Reina Johnson Kelly Kyrgiakos/Skrtel Aurelio Maxi Meireles Shelvey Babel Pacheco Kuyt
  12. That was the first thing that sprung to mind. A "What!!??, Did he lose 5-0???... type of comment should be in it`s place.
  13. Bloody hell, this is the best match i`ve seen since watching us bum Forest 5-0 in 1988. A type of football that can only be matched by a Sam Allardyce coached team. Incredible. But taking the magic away, there is not often such a number of cunts manage to meet on one football field at the same time, except when the mancs play Everton or Chelsea. Mourinho again manages to take a team to ûbercunt status in minutes, but quite a few of the Barcelona players were acting like spoiled brats out there, charging Madrid players in flocks whenever there was a foul. That part of their behaviour took a bit of the pleasure, after watching one of the best performances ever produced, away.
  14. Nicky Tanner was a £20 000 signing from Bristol Rovers. He was crap, but considering value for money that signing were miles ahead of Paul Konchesky. We were skint when this signing occured, and he was valued at £5m. Outragous. Off course he isnt the worst player who`ve played for us, but he is at the top along side El Hadji Diouf and Sean Dundee on our worst ever signings list. You can throw in Brad Jones in there as well, as that is probably the most pointless signing in our history.
  15. I have seen posters say Roy had nothing to do with todays loss, and i`ve seen people blaming him for everything. Today, despite the loss, was our best performance away from home under Roy. So at least it can be seen as a step in the right direction. But to me the truth lies somewhere in between. Roy must take a lot of blame by continuing to buying then select a player so out of his depth it`s painful to watch. Roy must take blame for picking Dirk as a midfielder in a 4-4-2, when everyone who have watched Liverpool play these last few seasons knows getting the worst out of him. But most of all Roy must take blame for not doing anything when the pattern of play change so dramatically during a match. Whether it`s a change of formation or personnel, sometimes something needs to be done, and my biggest dissapointment in him yet again comes down to matchday coaching. We saw it against Chelsea, in the second half they swarmed all over us, while he sat there motionless doing nothing. It was down to pure luck and the heroics of Pepe that saved us that day. And finally when he did change things a bit, we did actually improved and Chelsea ran out of steam. It was just the same today. We totally controlled the first half, but in the second half the warning signs were there long before the equalizer. And yet again he did nothing. Not until he was forced a change with N`gog going out, which actually improved us a bit. His tactical awarenessand coaching during the match is totally missing, and that is his job, and I think once again he failed today in that respect. Still, if we just had a tiny bit of lethalness ( is that actually a word? ) over our finishing Spurs would have been dead and buried. We only have 1 player offering goals, and when he is going through the motions we struggle. The plus point was that we actually looked like a football team away from home, so that was a nice change. But our results away from home is inexcusable, and continue to stamp a huge question mark over Roy`s future here.
  16. So you know your burkina fasoian football?? I`ve never even heard of him, so i cant really jugde him until i`ve seen him play for 15 minutes, or the you tube clip arrives.
