  1. I'm firmly lodged in the don't-buy-a-Dell camp. Their standards have dropped significantly in terms of the components that they use, especially on their more affordable range (Vostro).
  2. Ebuyer outlet on that there eBay is always worth a look.
  3. Could be a DNS thing (which I have little understanding of to be honest). Can you ping the sites you can't visit?
  4. Was looking at skyfire. For some reason I don't trust it. Totally irrational gut feeling, possibly influenced by the fact it's £2.99. Anyone got it? Does it actually work?
  5. Not without a jailbreak I think. However... spankwire xnxx.com extremetube.com and I think pornhub.com ...are all viewable on the iPhone and ipad.
  6. Anyone else feeling tired today or is it just ME?
  7. The ip addresses beginning 192.168... are internal, your actual router will have an external ip address given by your provider. Other people can see the external one, but not internal. Although it would be pretty easy to guess them. Anything that connects to your router will be assigned an ip by the router. What's the issue anyway?
  8. Just got offered a job in Seoul. I think it'd be great Korea move.
  9. It's pretty simple. All chocolate goes in the fridge, the only exception being Lion Bars. Ketchup, mayo...in fact all condiments deserve refrigeration. The jury is still out on bread. Personally I prefer it from a bread bin, but the wife likes it from the fridge. I'm not too fussed.
  10. Hmm is it too obvious to say "With a Little Help From My Friends" by Joe Cocker? Totally changed it and made it sound so very good. Plus it was theme to the Wonder Years, which helps.
  11. Probably just trebled the value of iChat and Facetime. Back to the dotcom boom we go. Google now worth every bit of money ever in existence.
  12. I had a friend at college who was a veggie... apart from sausages. Genius. Oh... and my brother found out his wife was having an affair because she's a vegetarian. She had left a take-away receipt on the side which had chicken on it. 100% of vegetarians are stupid*. *in the above true stories
  13. skype-to-stop-working-any-second-now/
  14. So it's just a case of simply tweaking the registry settings or downloading a decent browser?
  15. ...so you've also never experienced a fast browser. That's fine. Stick with what you know.
  16. I was in a restaurant in Philadelphia a couple of weeks ago, sitting at the sushi bar, and in walks the Oompaloompa from the more recent Charlie and the Cholcolate Factory. Deep Roy they call him. He was several nice blokes.
  17. Just one user and not all the time. My next job is to test the closing of the program after closing the document. I'm thinking a reinstall is the simplest way forward. Thanks again for the tips.
  18. Thanks mate. On the network folder there is no option to switch off indexing. I should have mentioned that this is on a linux file server with samba thingamybob.
  19. Just thought I'd pick a few brains with this little quandry. Got a User whose .tmp files aren't deleting themselves when he exits Word/Excel, and it leaves him having to open a read only copy next time he goes to it. Usually corresponds with a crash of Office, so have done a repair. Was hoping there might be a MS Office genius in our midsts. XP, Service pack 3 by the way. Thanks in advance.
  20. Sam Adams... Me too, although in a big glass.
  21. I'm sorry to say that I can't help with your problem, but I would heartily recommend using Thunderbird as your email client instead of Outlook which has always been, and will always remain, shite.
  22. Seriously... Have you tried switching it off and on again?
  23. I did a song about this a while ago. It's happened a few times with my mates and, as has been said, these sorts of guys always come back when things go tits up. Gotta see the funny side really. Under The Thumb
