  1. We're being charged 10% compound interest for the inter-company loan from our holding company in the Camen isles, but as of yet they haven't made the club pay, but of course they will do so.
  2. Be nice if Karma used Hicks to show us such a phenomenon does exist...
  3. At this point, have no way of knowing whether it would even be a good thing if it did go though - we might just end up with 3 egotistic owners pulling the club in different directions each caring more about $ than the team. I - and most on here - know as much about this guy as we did G+H before they bought the club... I bet he wants 50% of the club for the amount he's willing to put in, but G+H are no doubt still over-valuing the club, so probably think his potential huge cash injection is only worth 25% of the club.
  4. Thanks for the translation. I guess something could be lost in the translation, but "this will become a great club that is one of the best and most famous clubs" sounds like he needs a bit of PR training so that he can at least pretend to know something about us.
  5. Diddyman - I also doubt the truth of your posts. To test whether or not you are being honest, please answer the following questions: 1) What is the currency of the US? 2) What month is it in California? 3) Who recently got elected as the next president of the US?
  6. This is my favourite post in this thread. I want this post to be true, so I'm going to assume that it is (and for the moment at least ignore the nagging questions about why those other people would bother make up such provocative stuff...)
  7. we bought that French keeper a few weeks ago... But other than Le Tallec (who we're still trying to flog) all the french deals have been sales of Houllier's (poor) French buys
  8. I'll be disappointed if we don't match the 16 or so 12.45 kick offs we had last season.
  9. I think he just has a "being a complete twat" problem. How editors continue to run his made up stories - and pay him for them - is just beyond me. I think even by his (terribly low) standards, this article should win some kind of stupidity award.
  10. Mr Harris, Last week you stated that Steven Gerrard is unhappy at Liverpool (after their terrible start to the season), and will definitely be leaving, either in January or next summer. Can you mind-read or were you confused in your use of the English language? Would it not have been more accurate to write: "I really want Steven Gerrard to be unhappy at Liverpool and therefore move to Chelsea as soon as possible. There might even be something in it for me if this does happen, and therefore I will abuse my position as much as possible to try and ensure that a move does indeed take place. " Also, any idea how Benitez is doing at Inter Milan?
  11. Did Harry Harris say that Benitez was joining Inter a couple of days before he was confirmed as our manager?
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if it was SFX's doing far more than SG's doing.
  13. From the article: Mr Thaksin's spokesman yesterday indicated that, in the absence of a national lottery, the Prime Minister could use his own fortune. However, under the Thai constitution, politicians are not allowed to conduct private business while in office.
  14. I saw highlights of Real Madrid's final game of the season (lost 4-1 against Sociedad). it was very noticable how many of Sociedad's attacks were down the side that Carlos should have been defending - it just seemed he was out of position all the time.
  15. Other than: "the criticism has been a little bit over the top at times but I think the boss knows, the staff know and players definitely know, it is expected" - Houllier is not mentioned again, and I kind of expected some sort of Captain's defence of Houllier...The fact that there's nothing about Houllier could be because The interviewer was told not to ask any Houllier questions, or because Gerrard had nothing to say about Houllier, or maybe it just wasn't relevant to the interview... Maybe I'm just clutching at straws...
  16. Gatwick wouldn't be too far either - train to London Brigde and I'm sure you can get down to Charlton from there.
  17. Latest Houllier blurb on official site: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N144733040430-1444.htm "Despite everything that has gone against us this season - injuries, refereeing decisions and other problems - we are still in there competing and battling. If we manage to finish fourth then we will be pleased we have brought some joy to the supporters. "We just haven't been as clinical as we could have been at times. We're not a boring team though. You can check the facts and you'll see that we have had more shots on goal than any other team this season. "...and other problems" - does he mean such as not having any idea how to attack, not playing our best players in as many games as possible? I've certainly been rivited by our football thanks to the amount of shots on goal we've had. Never thought our displays were boring and inept.
  18. Kewell hasn't created as many goals as one might have expected, but for me scoring 11 goals means he can't possibly be 'top of the flops' list, especially given how little we paid for him. What I find really depressing is how Houllier manages to drain players of their confidence - be it by the system that we play, or the roles that players are given. Seems too often our attacking players lack confidence.
  19. I don't know what Riley's record is this season, but last season, in 5 ManU games he awarded them 7 penalties and sent off 3 opposition playres. I find it quite unbelievable that he's still allowed anywhere near Manc games.
  20. I just don't understand why somebody doesn't tell him how much comments such as "despite this we've still managed a good amount of shots at goal" wind up the fans and make something of a laughing stock out of him. Incidentally, although Arsenal have been lucky in that Henry has not been injured, Wiltord has been out most of the season, Kanu has been injured or out of favour, Aliadiaire has been injured most of the season and Reyes only joined recently. That means Arsenal have basically had Bergkamp and Henry as their strikers this season, but they seem to have done OK. Still, I'm sure they haven't had as many shots on goal as us, and clearly this is the most important factor in success.
  21. Paul - I basically agree with what you say, and it looks like Smicer will be yet another player to have a go at our non-productive right midfield position. I do feel sorry for Vlad though - this season was clearly his best for Liverpool, with 4 goals and 4 assists up to Christmas (probably more goals and assists than in the previous 2 seasons put together). Part of this success was because of being played in a more central position though, and I doubt he'll play there tomorrow.
  22. "Even if it was the old trick of someone running over the ball, continuing his run past the wall and the taker playing him through." Very very foolish and dangerous as a player running past the wall might leave us exposed at the back. When we have an attacking free kick, our first priority must be to defend. similarly, fullbacks are only encouraged to get forward in principle, the idea of a full back being further forward than one of our 'wide' midfield players, probably causes GH to have a fit.
  23. I have been wondering recently what the team works on in training - thought maybe someone might have some kind of insight / knowledge. The question comes about because of this question: How are we most likely to score in a game? Long ball from Gerrard to Owen, Owen is through and scores? Gerrard takes the whole team on and scores or sets up tap-in? The odd spectacular long range shot?... Tactics and team instructions obviously play a part in defining the (terrible) football that we play, but surely what we do (and obviously don't do) in training must play a part too. I've heard that Arsenal do a lot of sprinting and endurance running (helps with their movement, keeping tempo up, passing and moving etc). And they also play a lot of 5 a side, with one version being a team gets a point / goal each time they string 10 passes together (something Liverpool have probably managed to do all of 3 times this entire season). Do we just practice booting long balls forward defending in numbers?
  24. Time to start compiling the list of the 7000 (approx) players we will be linked with between now and the start of next season. Doesn't sound at all like an Agent trying to stir up interest in his client does it....
