  1. I think because Portugal won, Holland couldn't be eliminated whatever the result tonight. Would need to beat Portugal in last game by a few goals to go through though.
  2. No they wouldn't. Football clubs are affiliated in a chain of authority. Club>>League>>national Association>>continental association>>FIFA The clubs you mention are indeed anomalies and their status was allowed to stand because it was established so many years ago, UEFA whoever allowed them to stay the same. The rules about what country a team comes from or plays in have been tightened up in modern times. The precedent has already been set by others clubs that had to reform. They had to start from the bottom. As much as it would be a bitter pill to swallow, the SFA really have no other choice to do the same with Rangers. If they don't then they are opening the doors for other clubs to do the same and there is effectively no sanction.
  3. Good. He really rode his luck because the players decided to play, and BBJT coaching from behind the scenes. Won't last the season I reckon. For all those clamouring for us to get a more high profile, sexy whatever appointment and the current European champions couldn't attract one?
  4. I'm a bit confused here. Did you buy a brand spanking new PS3 six months ago? It broke after 3 months and you accepted a refurb? You say you have dealt with Sony, but surely your "contract" is with the shop retailer you bought it from, if the product was new and only lasted a few months. Under my understanding of SOG act, that is an unreasonable amount of time for a product of that quality. I can see where Sugar Ape and Vlad are coming from. You only get a 12 month warranty once on each item. You would need to pay again , if that makes sense.
  5. That Jelavic goal just proves everything thats wrong with the modern offside rules. Throughout the whole of that move he was in an offside position when Modric took a shot. Yes, I know the ball ricocheted off 2 Irish players to put Jelavic in, but how that can't be deemed to be gaining an advantage, I don't know. Goal hanging, Terrahawks Zelda lookalike! Anyway, on the bright side, his value will go up with every goal, making it more likely he'll be sold by the Blues.
  6. If the publishers/Amazon would get their pricing sorted out, it would negate any need to acquire books illegally. Last book I was looking to get was £3.80 for paperback but £5.99 for Kindle version! It's just pure greed. For new releases, the prices should be at least the same.
  7. Just to clarify thechap, is this as the fixture computer (totally random, not influenced by SKY or Alex Ferguson no siree) puts them out before Europa League games are taken into account? edit. Scrub that question, just checked and PL fixtures should be out before UEFA ones. Manchester City v Liverpool Liverpool v Reading Liverpool v Aston Villa Everton v Liverpool Liverpool v Sunderland
  8. Bethesda aren't getting another penny off me because of the abortion that was the PS3 version. Still patching it up today and all the bugs still not fixed.
  9. Good luck. Least you'll know where you stand. Could get expensive if you get done regularly!
  10. Where there any lines on the road or signs nearby? Code 214 refers to "causing an obstruction". Was the road obstructed in any way? Seems unlikely as you say you park there every day. Seems to me that something maybe happened that some traffic couldn't get by or something, or a complaint has been made and the warden has judged you to be the cause. The fact that none of the other cars got a ticket seems a bit harsh and the chances of a warden passing up easy tickets is a bit strange. i think you have a month to pay the £30 or £60 after that is it? It may be worth a stab at writing to the council or whoever is in charge and argue/plea your case (politely I might add, nothing to be gained on going on a rant) before the time limit expires. I've heard anecdotal evidence that many parking offences are written off after appeal. They depend on apathy from Joe Public. Also, was all the information factually correct on ticket? Sometimes there might be a loophole there.
  11. Not just you. I watched series 1 on TV then couldn't wait so started reading the books in between series 1 and 2 just finished. I found after reading book 1 that the TV adaptation was pretty faithful, almost script perfect. Since book 2 however he just keeps adding characters and the whole story has mushroomed. It's impossible for the TV series to keep up. Silverlining said earlier that he had trouble keeping up with series 2 and he had read the books! I know what he means. How people just watching the TV can keep up as characters appear with barely an introduction! Another thing is, A Feast For Crows and Dance with Dragons are chronologically running at the same time. There is so much going on. Obviously the TV series will have to amalgamate both these books into 2 series, if you know what I mean.
  12. Don't see where all this green pepper hate is coming from. I find all varieties/colours of bell pepper pretty bland and you would only really 'taste' them if they were raw in a salad or something. Fried and cooked up in something spicy, any 'flavour' would be overwhelmed. I just use them for colour and texture. Then again, because I use Dave's Ghost Chilli sauce, everything else is bland! Each to their own I suppose. I personally can't stand celery. I always thought when chopped up they looked like caterpillars or something creepy crawley! Enjoy the meal!
  13. Seeing we have American owners, I think the league should go the way of NFL. Am I correct that all teams in NFL, if they have to change colours, just have a white kit? This would blow the whole cash cow market for kit sales. I know there would be the argument of reduced income from kit sales, but it would be interesting to know the ratio of 2nd and 3rd kit sales against the home one. Surely more sales/income comes from the red kit? Of course my first point is tongue in cheek, but I would genuinely be interested how much money comes in from the change kits in the first place.
  14. I replied to PM before the ebook stuff started. Hmmmm, Kindle? Now that I would be interested in. Does it have to go on Amazon?
  15. Agree. It's obvious that our away kit should be white shirts/black shorts or at a push yellow as according to that site that's what the majority of our away kits have been. If they want to "experiment" or whatever, do it with the 3rd kit!

This. I have to say though, £1M !!!!! We always seem to overpay to buy and undersell just to get rid. You just know that if we were signing Dirk now we would pay 6 to 7 million. Hopefully this deal was under the old regime and the new structure will address this.
  17. Fuck me, the media tart was on again there on 5live! He isn't gonna go away easy is he? Not until Roberto takes a job elsewhere on DW gets some compo.
  18. Echoes of the FA's (cunts) process in appointing Hodgson. The whole media were championing Redknapp and the whole thing looked like a done deal. The media were aghast and up in arms that Arry didn't get the job and Woy is on the back foot from the first minute. Not that I think Hodgson is going to do better than Redknapp, just that the FA (cunts) did things their own way in their own time. Our process was being played out in the media with no official comment from FSG. Almost anyone and everyone was being "linked" with the job. Now its seems that Rodgers was the #1 choice and the only one actually, like, offered the job. This whole 24 hrs instant news thing is completely arse about face. It's the media speculating, quoting any dog on the street and feeding the story instead of the other way round. At least now the circus will move onto someone else. Chelsea have been given an easy ride so far. Wonder what Whelan has to say about that?
  19. In his interview, Ridley said that this film should NOT be viewed as an "ALIEN prequel" per se. Sure it is set in the same universe, but that he would envisage another 2 films to take events up to ALIEN. A bit like Phantom Menace to A New Hope?
  20. I thought someone mentioned earlier in the thread that Scott was insisting on an 18 rating? Sell out! Paves the way for the directors cut later.
  21. Definitely Sky. They're so desperate to fill 24 hour sports news that they'll give anyone a platform to spout shite. Only so many ad breaks and "coming up" trails they can fill an hour with. In the good old days, journos would have told Whelan thanks very much but we'll check some facts before running with it.
  22. Thing is, those two I think are the last examples of an old era. No manager in the modern game is being given a chance at anything "long term". Everyone wants instant success. The only one who comes close for longevity is Moyes and Everton seem to be happy with his level of performance.
  23. Amen to that brother. I am convinced that most road users genuinely have no idea what they are for or the rules surrounding them. Incredibly frustrating have to wait while the light in my direction can sometimes go through 2 green cycles and I still can't go because of selfish bastards. Honestly if I was a traffic cop, I could just spend all day at a box junction!
  24. No, they enter Europa league in 4th Qualifying round. We enter round before that (3rd Qualifying round) Spurs go straight into group stage. Just looking at UEFA rankings, ours (11th)has taken a real hit with no European football last season. We're now out of top 10 and likely to fall further unless we have a stonking good run next season.
