  1. It was initially this figure but was renegotiated after Gonzalez's achilles injury.
  2. I'd not seen these latest two before but they tally with other people's descriptions of a spaceship/Gehry inspired. I had seen pics of the internal model without the outer cladding which have also been posted - on these you could see the stands more clearly.
  3. Bad teamwork from your defence, particularly when trying to play offside - a decent manager would have worked on that ;)
  4. I'd lose the will to live if we signed Benayoun. How many mediocre bits and pieces midfielders do you need in a squad? We're already overstocked centrally and on the right. We have Kewell, Garcia, Voronin, Kuyt, Gerrard, Pennant who all play in the areas Benayoun would. We need a world class left-sided player and that's it for midfield. And we don't need any more support strikers. If Rafa wants any more back up to the back ups he already has should use some of the kids.
  5. We only made £20 million from winning it in 2005. At least half of that is guaranteed earnings from our % of the TV pool which we spend prior to entering the CL. The extra we earn by progressing through the tournament is very little in terms of our overall revenue.
  6. To follow that model we'd be selling Gerrard first to generate funds, as we did with Keegan in 77 and Rush in 87. There'd be quite a few who'd think it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world either - maybe even Rafa. Much of Arsene Wenger's success can be attributed to selling Anelka, Overmars and Petit for £50 million, and using those funds to take the squad forward.
  7. Not sure the club knew why DIC were prevaricating, but as it dragged on and at the same time Parry had to come out and defend DIC and talk them up (the interview on Radio 5 post-New Year) there was an increasing feeling within the club that it wasn't going well and that another hand higher up above DIC was causing complications and turning against it. Prior to any mention of Gillett returning to the table there was a report from one of the Dubai newspapers that they were getting cold feet as we weren't the cash cow anticipated and as an investment didn't stack up.
  8. Got to say I've a very uneasy feeling about this Gillett and Hicks thing for now - "show me the money" has never been a more appropriate phrase. However that doesn't stretch to a revision of DIC into the good guys. The indications were they were going off us quite rapidly prior to the big split. The promised due dilligence kept dragging on and on, 6 weeks past the agreed finish date (and period of exclusivity) and the club was finding even the simplest question wasn't now being answered by Al Ansari (DIC's CEO and the much trumpeted Liverpool fans) but being referred upwards. They'd also been hawking around a % of the club to other investment houses.
  9. My (limited) understanding is if we keep the capacity and footprint the same, any changes will be eased through planning as the major part of successfully winning permission was the traffic and environmental plans. Any increases in capacity with require revisiting the above two aspects in detail.
  10. L4 lads have winnability L4lad will need disability
  11. Can I categorically state that none of TLW, OTK, RAOTL or RAWK has had any contact with Parry or any of his minions. No tickets have "exchanged hands". The story originally surfaced from Dave Kirby (Braces and Boots) in a post on OTK, when he repeated a story he'd been told. He then requested that his post be deleted when it became clear he'd been fed a load of shite, apologised to Evo on the phone and OTK on the forum, and apologised by email to both RAOTL and RAWK. Dave Kirby can verify this. The wonderful editor of this website Dave U can also verify that in the past week TLW and RAWK have been working together behind the scenes to expose the numbers and the lies surrounding the ticketing issue. On a RAWK front we've had an editorial attacking the club, threads applenty attacking the club many of which are still ongoing, we prominently publicised the protest as a news story and made sure it reached all the news aggregators such as NewsNow and GoogleNews. On the ticketing front for the RAWK moderators let's play the numbers game: Eligible with 7+ credits: 4 (1 ST and 3 FC, all with every Euro away attended as well as the home games) Ineligible: 1 (me - lazy armchair wanker) Successful in the ballots: 2 (1 ST, 1 FC - both with 6 credits) Unsuccessful in the ballots: 6 (1 ST, 5 FC - all with 6 credits) Now do you want to explore this further L4lad? We're dying to see this evidence of yours. In fact here's an offer. If you can prove a single iota of the utter bollocks you have claimed we'll close down RAWK as a site immediately. Now we know you like the legal system, after all you did threaten to sue RAWK on April 28th for a post that just repeated why your Hillsborough petition had got such short shrift on RAOTL initially. So if your lawyer is still looking for something to do, I'm sure we can oblige.
  12. All with 6 (ST or FC) were guaranteed in 2005 - very few with 5 got tickets and they were all STs.
  13. Think it's nailed on. Allardyce said he wanted to leave to allow the new boss the last few games to acclimatise to the match day routine etc - that suggests they have someone ready to be appointed this week for next weekend's game.
  14. You don't see great youth coaches "transferred" from team to team - generally it's an in-house thing and the success is the whole set up, the amount invested in time, scouting and cash, not the person running it. It's all about knowing the culture of the club and the league you're playing in, working well with the manager. Is Liam Brady a great youth coach or is it the whole set up at Arsenal? Is he a great coach because he fits the set up and wouldn't work well elsewhere? Apropos of that I was told last summer when it was rumoured he was coming back that he had decided it was too soon to make such a commitment with his kids, but would be ready within a year so the door had been left open by LFC. Don't know if it'll happen this summer but I think it would be great to see Gary Mac back in any capacity. He'd bring intelligence and dignity to the club, and the knowledge of winning the league, fa cup, league cup and in Europe as a player. As well as scoring the best winning goal in any match against Everton in 115 years of derby matches.
  15. I know plenty who thought selling Fowler was the best thing the club had done in years and were appalled he was brought back. As for a Moores mosaic, or anything like this, you're never going to get universal agreement and if that's your standard for something going ahead nothing would ever get done at Anfield. There's people who've disagreed with every mosaic we've had.
  16. The worst match report was by David Millar in the Telegraph on the 6-0 win over Ipswich away when Abel Xavier made his debut/scored. Apparently Ipswich lost because Jermaine Wright went off injured in the first half thus destroying the midfield equality between the two sides and three quarters of the report was full of this theory.
  17. 5th Annual HJC Cup Five-A-Side Tournament – The Pitz – Saturday 12th May 2007 Yep, it’s that time of year again. Get yer muddy shinpads out, dust down the mullets, and squeeze yourself into shorts that were too tight ten years ago. LFC’s last game of the season is against Charlton on Sunday 13th May @ 3pm (to be confirmed) so, as a fitting finale, the HJC Cup takes to the pitch again the day before. Here are the details: Venue: The Pitz (Powerleague), 2 Whittle Street, Kirkdale, L5 2SQ (15 min walk/march from The Sandon) Click here for map When: Saturday 12th May 2007 Time: First match K.O. @ 12pm (to be confirmed). Each team must nominate a team captain, who is then responsible for registering their team (see below). The Prize: This year, the winning team will not only be presented with the prestigious HJC Cup, but they will also be sent to Rotterdam (flights and hotel included) on 8th-10th June to represent the HJC in a 5-A-Side tournament being organised by ALSIN (Association of Liverpool Supporters In the Netherlands) to celebrate their fifth anniversary on 9th June. Teams from Sweden, Norway, France, Belgium, Netherlands will be taking part and there’ll be a ‘do’ afterwards at which everyone will be welcome. More details nearer the time. A very special prize indeed. Payment: All teams must first REGISTER by emailing Craig Mansfield on alfa33boxer@msn.com. At this stage, only a £30 deposit per team is required (but feel free to pay the whole £100 up front if you wish). Balances MUST be received by Saturday 5th May. Individuals who wish to play but don’t have a team, don’t worry. Contact us (details below) and we’ll endeavour to find you a team to join. So, What Happens Then? For anyone who’s never been before, this is what happens. Group Stages (teams drawn by independent UEFA official. Or Gerry). Quarter-Finals (or Second Round, depending on number of teams entered) Semi Finals 3rd/4th place play off Final Pub Bibs are provided, but it would be helpful if all teams can ‘co-ordinate’ their kits. No prizes for Best Dressed Team, though, unfortunately. The Pitz has an upstairs licensed bar with a great view out onto the pitches so everyone is welcome. Flag-waving is encouraged, although anyone turning up in Jester Hats will be burnt on the pitch. Also, the acoustics from the ‘viewing platform’ have been improved over the years to facilitate high peformance heckling. The large back bar of THE SANDON has been booked from 6.30pm. There will be food available although, because we’ve ended up throwing lots of stuff out in previous years, this year it will be more nibbles than big plates of food. Oakfield Road does have eleven chippies, after all, which we’ve found most people prefer after a few shandies ... The SANDON will also be where the presentations are made. Up for grabs is not just the prestigious HJC Cup itself, but the Kieran Taylor Memorial Trophy for Player of the Tournament. There will be music, spoken word from the usual suspects, a raffle, tombola and an auction with some very special lots on offer. Start saving now, as all proceeds go directly to the HJC. We hope this will become the biggest and best tournament so far, so thanks in advance to everyone taking part and also to those who have already given so generously to make this happen. Any questions, no matter how trivial, feel free to IM me or email: sair37@redandwhitkekop.net Keep your eyes on this page, or the HJC Cup website at http://www.hjccup.co.uk over the coming weeks for details of any changes. 18. You still whinging? Is any forum good enough for you? We've had all this with OTK when no one replied to one of your Hillsborough threads within a couple of hours. I've just had a look on RAWK and you received a 3 day suspension for spamming the forum with complaints. Now you may have become used to mewling all over the forum on .tv, but other forums get a bit fucked off with that. To quote a moderator who answered your mate: "He was suspended for posting the same question about 17 times, haven't people heard of having a bit of patience?"
  19. Goldeneye was released after Ajax won in 95, so that means Juventus was the first for Brosnan, and you can't exclude Connery and Dr No after which AC Milan won it. Curse debunked ;)
  20. What indecision and how has it caused such a loss?
  21. If you add an extra bottom tier, the two tiers above have to be moved further back as they can't fully overlap the bottom tier. When Barca did it they had plenty of room around the pitch (there was a moat there I believe) so they moved into this space. Our current stadium design for Stanley Park doesn't have this redundant space.
  22. I agree totally with you - transport is the main issue. I can see G&T trying to eek out as many seats as possible within the current footprint/design and maybe aiding transport links with more cash though. Can't see how they'd be able to do much more with the design given the height restrictions placed on us, and digging down deeper as some have suggested would mean a totally new stadium design and the whole planning palaver again as the stadium would have to cover a much larger area of park.
