My problem is mentally picturing him as a Liverpool manager. I can’t lie, it will be hard to get around that jovial to dim look, and of course the baldness. If he turns out to be actually any good, I’m sure I will get past it, but as soon as results take a dip, I will choose to be as superficial as a super model.
I can only reiterate what everyone is saying. United are so bad that we should be ashamed just for not beating them with 4 or 5 goals, let alone not managing to win at all… Bournemouth have been completely dominant.
Jones and Tsimikas understandably rusty from not having played much the last months, but Tsimikas seems tactically a bit dim as well. Kelleher has saved us at least two times this game, so I’ll not be overtly critical. The entire team misses easy passes and we don’t seem to have a plan to counter Atalanta’s press.
De Zerbi looks like a person who likes to wear far too tight trousers. That’s a no go right there. And I agree with Dave, in that he just doesn’ look like or feel like a Liverpool manager. He might be - or almost certainly is - a good to very good manager, but not for Liverpool.
It gives me no pleasure to say that I can’t see Gakpo having any future here. He’s the kind of player we would be smug about seeing in a Tottenham shirt. Scores the occasional goal, but just not good enough in general play. On top of that, today it felt like he couldn’t be bothered to run enough, certainly much less than Darwin, whose mistake surely was a result of being absolutely knackered.
