If you are protected as a minor, it means society thinks there is a reason for it, as in, your brain not being fully formed etc. Although it is often just a cultural thing.

Elections are every four or five years in most countries and denying people the right to vote would hurt society's cohesion. You can exclude the unemployed next, also, why should poor people have the same say as people who pay much more taxes. Test people how impressionable they truly are and give them the right to vote accordingly. Low IQ and and uneducated people should have half a vote, PhDs two votes each etc.
