  1. I'll be interested to see what system Wenger picks. On Saturday he went with Fabregas, Denilson and Diaby behind Walcott, Van Persie and Adebayor. Last Wednesday against Villareal he went with an extra attacker (Nasri) and had just Fabregas and Song in the middle. Will he play Walcott, Arshavin and Nasri behind Bendtner or will he sacrifice one for an extra midfielder? I think the fact that Adebayor has been "rested" because of his hamstring might say a lot about Arsenal's mentality going into this one. If it was a big priority, he'd play.
  2. They definitely have a massive boner for the mancs. Expecting to lose and Moyes saying it was his biggest game partly because it was United. It must be like playing a big European team for them ;)
  3. No wonder he didn't make it at the mancs. YSB YSB YSB YSB merderrrrerrrrrrrrrr
  4. To be honest they've looked very solid at the back in the last 2 games. Maybe we needed Villa and Sunderland to hold on to the results they nearly had against them but you just never know from one game to the next. You wouldn't expect them to drop any points against some of the teams they have to play, but it all depends on the day. I would imagine we'll have to win our last 6 but you never know. If they drop 6 points we can afford to drop 2 as long as we keep our goal difference above theirs.
  5. No. There was something from a "source" the other day that said he had laughed it off and that the hand signals were about Alonso swinging a free kick in after he had told him to play it short, but nothing from the man himself.
  6. I've got a strange feeling about this one. I keep saying and people keep saying to me that it should be a good game, but really I'd take a fucking dreadful game as long as we win. If it's another great game but we draw 4-4 again, I'll come out of the ground gutted that we're (possibly) out of it, whereas a shit 1-0 and I'll be bouncing down the road. As for the team, I'm not really bothered about whether it's Agger or Skrtel at centre half or Aurelio or Insua at left back, but I hope Yossi gets the nod rather than the Lucas-Alonso-Mascherano midfield we saw at Chelsea.
  7. Agreed. Some of the criticism of him over the years has been ridiculous. Some people just don't like him. Remember after we beat Inter and Sky completely ignored the result and instead spent half an hour talking about how he "never picks Gerrard and Torres" (!?) Then recently we've had the moaning about him not celebrating, which is something Sky basically started. Shreeves spent nearly a whole post-match interview asking him why he doesn't celebrate, instead of asking him about the match. In nearly every interview, they have to get something negative in there, even after we've just whopped United 4-1 at Old Trafford.
  8. He would NEVER have picked that side against Liverpool. He basically contradicted his "big club" bollocks about Everton by picking that side.
  9. What was he talking about when he said that it was his biggest game, "partly because it was an FA Cup semi and partly because it was United?" They seem to really believe the United Holywood FC story. In Cahill's interview his favourite player was Ronaldo and he also singled out "unsung heroes"(!!) Giggs and Scholes. Is it because they hardly ever beat them and they have developed a massive inferiority complex?
  10. I thought I heard a chorus if "stand up for the 96" in the first half but I shrugged it off and thought it must've been something else. Fair play to them for this.
  11. I think we attack and defend as a team. We don't really have any luxury players who stand with their hands on their hips when we lose the ball. Right from Torres at the front, we're snapping at heels to win the ball back. All the players seem to be in it together. Even though we have stars, they don't seem to act it. You look at the mancs and you see Ronaldo and Berbatov not giving 2 fucks about the team. I can't see us signing someone who appears to be a total cock like Robben.
  12. I honestly wouldn't care one little bit if he left in the summer. He might as well not have been there this season anyway. He's never going to be a great player, he's going to be a great highlights player who has the odd burst of form.
  13. I'm not scouse but I did go to uni in Libpool, so I know what they're like. Still, I'd have to take them over the mancs, mainly due to the amount of blue scarves at Anfield last Wednesday.
  14. After all the work Ryan has done for the PFA, that's disgraceful. He's beyond the pale that Benitez.
  15. The thought occurred to me this morning when I saw the pitch invasion at Wolves. If it happened this season, after such a dramatic and topsy turvy season where we've been in it then out of it then back in it, with all the emotion that's been brought to the surface with the 20th anniversary, with all the shite between us and the mancs, with the fact it's been so long and if we just so happened to clinch it in a dramatic way on the last day, would there be a pitch invasion? I know it's small time and it's never been TLW, but I just wondered.
  16. Torres will have been pulling the balls off himself watching Fabianski last night.
  17. Everton's Tim Cahill wears his art on his sleeve, says Dan Rookwood | Football | The Observer Do you think you might have won more honours and more recognition if you'd gone to a bigger club? You've got to ask: is the grass always greener? Is it the right situation for you and your family and you as a player? Opportunities arise. I am achieving a lot at Everton, qualifying for Europe. I feel I get the same rewards as players at other clubs do actually winning something. It's unfortunate that I haven't won the big awards. But who knows? Maybe one day. Beating Liverpool is like winning an FA Cup. People might think that's not a high aim to set, but once you've played for Everton and know what it is to be a Blue, then you know what it means to beat Liverpool.
  18. What I'd like to know is why the BBC haven't reported any of these quotes yet. Any time Rafa opens his mouth about Ferguson, there's a fucking banner headline about a rant or about him reigniting his feud.
  19. It's all so pathetic it's unbelievable. From Rafa to Ferguson to the journalists who ask them about each other, to the people who actually give a fuck what either of them have to say and call it "mind games" or "rants." Load of fucking nonsense. Team that scores the most goals and gets the most points wins. Fuck the rest of it.
  20. I thought the hand gestures were because we'd just scored a header from a set piece against a team that was using man to man marking, after we had taken so much flak about conceding 2 headers using zonal marking against Chelsea. Also, Allardyce is a cunt. By the way, maybe the wrong thread, but I just can't understand people wishing (even jokingly) injury, illness or death on anyone, especially anyone who's main offence is to act a bit of a cunt. Surely we of all people should know the difference between football and life and death.
  21. From the few comments I've heard from City fans, Elano has been a liability this season who doesn't deserve to get a start (read Ryan Babel for us?) Good game last night, City were unlucky on a few occasions, but they also got lucky with the penalty and with Richards being offside in the build-up to the 2nd goal. Over the 2 legs I think Hamburg were the better side.
