  1. I’m slowly working my way through the book by Mike Carden, Liverpool Dockers. He passed away not long after he finished it. He’d kept meticulous records of meetings, newspapers and MDHC press and corporate releases. There’s a great bit of typical humour when he writes that one of the pens was nicknamed “the Kremlin”. You need a bit of that. John Pilger’s article is quoted and referenced in the book.
  2. Sorry mate, should’ve said the song says “there’s a ley line runs down Mathew Street, it’s giving energy to all it meets” amongst other lines. It’s an urban myth started by Bill Drummond (later of the KLF) when he was getting interviewed. Ian Prowse wrote the song.
  3. No worries, mate, glad you enjoyed it.
  4. Making of the Mob (2015) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4484722/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk 8 part docudrama focusing on the birth of the mafia in New York in the 20s. Narrated by Ray Liotta and featuring some great talking heads including Selywn Robb (cheers for the recommend on his book GF) and a few other familiar faces. Decent watch so far. 7/10 Second series focuses on Chicago.
  5. RIP John Pilger Here’s an article he wrote on the Liverpool dockers. http://www.labournet.net/docks2/9611/PILGER.HTM
  6. Have heard about Bold Street. On a slightly different tangent here’s the story about the ley line down Mathew Street. http://www.thecornpoppy.com/2019/07/manhole-cover-at-centre-of-universe.html?m=1 “Well, this interstellar ley line is a mega-powered one. Too much power coming down it for it not to writhe about. The only three fixed points on earth it travels through are Iceland, Mathew Street in Liverpool and New Guinea. Wherever something creatively or spiritually mega happens anywhere else on earth, it is because this interstellar ley line is momentarily powering through the territory.”
  7. Dennis Farina rep. Been watching Crime Story that I used to record but had never seen all the way through but had always stuck with me. He was a cop in Chicago before getting into acting.
  8. Merry Christmas everyone. Whatever way you’re celebrating hope you all have a good one.
  9. To be fair though no other cunts stepped up and stopped the Royal Court from becoming any more derelict than it had become. Brick Up The Mersey Tunnel basically saved it.
  10. I don’t like the part where ordinary people get screwed over by cunts. Simple enough for you?
  11. I’ve got the book to read Blood on The Crossbar about the late 70s to 80s junta and the ‘78 World Cup.
  12. There’s an element of that to it, unfortunately.
  13. Shady stuff indeed and top Conservative politicians are up to their necks in this.
  14. A rundown on the “reforms” recently enacted by Presidential decree in Argentina. Absolutely crazy stuff.
  15. The Tories are destroying the country from within making it nigh on impossible for Labour to govern effectively should they win the next election.
  16. Yeah me too I remember his first scene sat on a wall on the first day of school with the Liverpool bag. Good mates with the lad who played Robbie Wright off screen.
  17. @Tony Moanero @Bjornebye At the Museum of Liverpool Wonderous Place exhibit.
  18. Bit of GF for the FF. Not read it but there’s a decent looking book out about Argentina and footy, from the guy from the Twitter account.
