  1. The 'hi vis' yellow ball returns to football this weekend. What a crock of shit. We used to play with a predominantly white ball unless there was fucking snow on the pitch. Ok, ok, yeah we used to play with an orange ball or a casey in days gone by but they were used all season and not switched because the ball maker wants to get more money.
  2. I think in Jurgen's mind, it's more a question that while Alisson will be fit, he might not be match 'sharp' for immediate restoration. But of course, he's only going to get that sharpness playing games. It's also good that Jurgen and us now have that little bit of luxury of asking himself the question if he needs to make an immediate change. The question of, does Jurgen sling him straight back into the first team, might not be so clear cut in those circumstances especially as Adrian has performed well. There's no doubting Alisson's quality but would Jurgen risk re instating him immediately if the medical department and physios declare him fit and the oppos are United on 20 October? He might decide to ease him in against Ghenk after a long time out instead. What is clear is Adrian has looked more comfortable between the sticks the longer his run of games has gone on. Hopefully, he is still like that when he's been sat on the bench for weeks and has to be called into action again if, heaven forbid, Alisson picks up another injury. Whichever way Jurgen plays it, I really dont think we have much concern.
  3. 2 points above the relegation spots. This could get interesting!
  4. Well we spawned that but that's the way arsenal, chelsea, united and city have all won titles doing exactly the same so that's good enough for me. I really think Jurgen needs to talk to Mo, Sadio and Bobby because they just dont look on the same page right now. Trent, please stop slamming the ball into the nearest oppo. Thought Adrian had a very good game today. OK, one or two goal kicks were a bit piss but overall he did well and he'll welcome the clean sheet. Sheff United fans can go fuck themselves with their Champions of Europe, you're having a laugh chant. See how much of a laugh it is when you come to Anfield boys.
  5. Yes, credit to sheffield. Their players have worked hard and if they were any good at taking their chances, the game would have a very different complexion. We need to improve the accuracy of our passes and crosses and speed up play. Every time the sheffield defence heads the ball out, we dont seem to have any players in and around that area. Cmon reds.
  6. Trent's crosses have been poor. Robbo hasnt been much better, Gini isnt strong enough in these combative games imho. We've been far too slow and then the passes have been shit. It's a continuation of the Napoli game. When we have speeded the game up, we've cut through them but it looked like we had a debate about who should take that shot on in the last few minutes of the half by which time Sadio was in such a position the angle was very tight. This looks like a game for Origi's directness because this fannying about is doing nothing for Bobby, Mo and Sadio.
  7. Seems the press cannot make their minds up whether it was Chirivella or van den Berg. Sounds a non story to me with someone out to make mischief. The fume from the ev, city and united fans in particular is going to be laughable if nothing comes from this.
  8. On the face of it, this sounds not just disappointing but very strange. £15m a year below the current deal is a massive drop. That's a hell of a lot of extra shirts to shift just to make up £15m. Even at a 100 quid a shirt, that's another 150,000 just to break even. Even with talk of 20% 'royalties' you're talking really mega sales numbers to jump from a 'gauranteed' £30m to rake in another £45m just to equal united's deal. Yeah ok I know it's a kit deal but it is the shirts that shift in numbers not training tops and the like. There's got to be more to this than meets the eye because I cannot see the club taking such a hit on financing. While the club havent mentioned numbers, the Echo and other outlets have been baying that the club expects a deal to be better than United's although Ive noticed in recent days the rhetoric has been toned down a little.
  9. Its their nick name because Eastville, their old ground, used to be close to the city gas works. Apparently you could smell the town gas when the wind was in the right direction. Bristol City used to call them 'gas heads' by way of an insult but the rovers fans adopted it for themselves.
  10. I never said you did mention increased numbers. I used increased numbers as a premise in my point. The point being, even if another company makes more shirts \ kits and has a bigger distribution network, if those shirts \ kits turn out to be very popular, some people will still have trouble getting it. The only way to get around that conundrum, is to over supply but this then risks the need to heavily discount to shift the said surplus.
  11. Good squad and good test for these players. Also for a number, the first chance to be managed by an excellent top class manager as well.
  12. Nike could probably double the production and distribution of our kits and people would still have difficulty getting one if it proves to be a popular design. There seems to be this fallacy than Nike, or an even NB, could double the production numbers. But if they over produce and because the shirt design now changes every year, they could easily be in a position where they'll have to heavily discount in an attempt to shift the surplus. And may still fail leaving loads unsold.
  13. We used to play in white socks with red tops. I think they look boss. And if we win the title with them, who'll give a fuck?
  14. VAR is providing an opportunity to review a dubious decision. It isnt VAR's fault that Mike fucking Riley of the PGMOL, doesnt like his refs fully embracing it. It also isnt VAR's fault that the VAR 'referee' isnt always calling the right decision. Again, that's Riley's issue, at least in the PL. I havent seen VAR 'give' an incorrect decision but have seen VAR 'referees' take too fucking long to make a decision and sometimes, not give a decision that looks as clear as day to me when I see it. It's the officials who need to change, not VAR.
  15. He gets on my tits. There's a clear bias in his commentary. That must mean we're doing something right to get up his nose. He used to view us as inconsequential, now, he cannot hang onto such thoughts though as ourselves and city have broken the united, chelsea and arsenal hegemoney for good. His comments about the off side reminded me about that other uber twat of the airways, Adrian Durham. He who once famously said after we'd got the benefit of a debatable decision in the 1st leg of a European game, that the same ref should take the 2nd leg and have 'a chance to even the aggregate score up'! Old time football viewers will remember Gerald Sinstadt commenting for Granada tv. Towards the end of his time, he became a rambling old twat who just talked drivel during commentary. That's where I see Tyler at now, an old, out of time twat talking drivel.
  16. Looks like The Times is going to keep running this story about our scouting department logging into city's scouting system in Monday's edition. Apparently for a confidential 'agreement' to deem the matter closed, it's clearly been leaked by someone at city to cause damage to Liverpool. There are supposedly calls for the PL to investigate this further and take action. We really are turning into naughty boys, arent we?
  17. Strangely enough, at the Newcastle game last week, there was a woman sitting below me in the SKD Lower wearing an everton shirt. The world's gone mad.
  18. Been saying this for the last 2 seasons. If we're serious about winning the league, we need to jib the domestic cups. By jib them, I dont mean deliberately go out to lose in them. It means we play the players in the first team squad who arent getting league games and the best U23 players.
  19. Tyler wouldnt have been spouting his shite if the VAR incident and scores had been reversed against us. I tend to agree this millimeters offside is a bit shit but as Jamie said, that's the new standard. And it also comes about in part because linos are told not to put their flag up any more as soon as a player is offside.
  20. Cant see them doing anything with Lampard as manager. He didnt look tactically aware at Derby even if he had lesser players. He might get lucky with the FA or League Cup but I dont see him making chelsea a team to challenge for the title or CL. Honestly think he'll be luckyif he's still manager there next season.
  21. Im delighted at that result because Id have taken a draw before kick off. That second half was far too tense although chelsea were always going to throw everything at us from the start of the 2nd half. Kante was allowed far too much time and space by Fabinho which was just about the only thing he got wrong all game and that intensified the pressure. Disappointed again with Jurgen's use of subs. All game Mo tried to push the ball in front of the oppo and run and almost everytime he lost possession. There's nothing wrong with admitting it just wasnt Mo's day. Surely the change instead of Lallana would have been The Ox for Hendo? End of the day it doesnt matter because its 6 from 6 baby. Oh and nice of Oliver to book Trent for time wasting. Hope he does the same when city, united, chelsea and a few others rock up to Anfield. I wont hold my breath though.
  22. Looking at those pictures of the Watford players at the end of the game, there's not a single one of them who looks pissed off, angry, embarrassed or looks like they've run themselves into the ground for their fans or club. Like I keep saying, the biggest hurdle Jurgen or, any other manager will have in winning the league, is the teams who surrender goals, games and points to city without trying.
  23. We should lay down a marker tomorrow and snot chelsea 10-0 away. That'll learn the manc twats (and watford).
