Nowadays, knowing everything we know, I think you'd have to be nuts to actively encourage your kid to play football. That said, the sport is more popular than ever. Makes for an interesting dichotomy.

Rightly or wrongly, no one cares what he's done in Ligue 1 despite the fact he has been ridiculously good in that competition. He went there the 3rd best player in the world, ready to be the man and lead his own team to glory, and instead he's now a pariah. Expectations are insanely high for him, but he has not met them and his reputation has taken a hit. He'll be remembered there as someone who couldn't stay fit and thought he was bigger than the club. It's a massive failure.

What surprises me is that both parties are just giving up after two seasons. He's a huge failure if his seasons at PSG are remembered as the guy who dominated Ligue 1 but couldn't stay fit to play in the knockout stages of the Champions League. Thought they would both want one more go to change the story, but it seems not. When he's played he is their best and most important player. Better than Mbappe. But he hasn't been fit to play in the biggest games and along with his personality I imagine that is PSG's concern.

Pepe, yes. He's a no brainer in terms of quality and he would fit our style extremely well. Fernandes, no. He strikes me as one of those "looks great in the Portuguese league" type players but I doubt he would even come close to replicating that in a top league. What is good about him, though, is that he has end product and still runs a lot. You don't see many of those.

Yeah, that's probably it. I'm blown away that PSG are willing to sell Neymar. Honestly thought those were just rumours but it seems accurate now.

What a weird career he's turning out to have. So close to signing for us and only a year later he goes to Betis. Along with the injury concerns, I think part of it is his positioning. Not many teams have uses for a classic #10 anymore. He needs to become more of a forward and he may do that at Betis who did the same with Lo Celso.

You seen academy kids nowadays? Especially in the US where physicality is a big part of the football, the kids are like 6 feet 160 pounds on average. Physically, it's just not a fair competition, it doesn't really even have to do with football. That shouldn't be used to disparage the women's game or the US team.

What stinks is that there's such a gap between the US team and everybody else. They have a very legitimate gripe to maybe even receive a bigger cut than the men, whereas other women's teams just have no real argument.

Tottenham seem like they will sign Saliba and he'll be loaned back. I don't really like or understand that we're not in for him. He's a top prospect at his position, he's already physically ready at a young age and he fits our view towards the future. Just seems like a no brainer.
