  1. In a show of true professional pride, Michy Batshuayi, 27, who signed for Chelsea in 2016, who hasn't had a sniff of their first team (and never will), and has already been out on loan four times has.....extended his contract with them. Just prior to being sent out again on a season long loan. What a pro.
  2. What's the point of a luxury tax for breaching new FFP rules when City, Chelsea and PSG can happily pay it and carry on as normal? Points deductions, transfer embargoes, banned from European competition is the only way the rules can be enforced.
  3. That's a joke price for a player of Shaqiri's quality to be fair. We must be desperate to get rid.
  4. Tottenham close to agreeing a 60m fee for Lautaro Martinez at Inter. Really good player, him.
  5. Anybody seen much of this Ethan Ennis lad who’s turned down a new deal here and looks like he’s on his way to the mancs or Chelsea? Presumably he must be pretty good if they’re both in for him.
  6. Liked what I’ve seen from Malen. Fast as fuck, direct and knows where the goal is. Looks like the type of forward player we like.
  7. Wonder if Carlos's going to still be calling for the "dirty dozen" to be hauled over the coals for the ESL...
  8. Fuck me, he must have been desperate to get out. Carlos's walked away from millions and millions of easy money there. He had that entire fanbase duped that he gave a shit.
  9. Wonder if Carlo will take Big Dunc to Madrid with him?
  10. According to James Pearce, Gomez is the most advanced in his recovery out of the three of them. Given his injury wasn't as severe back and was back in January, I would expected Matip to be the first back but there you go.
  11. The latest James Pearce article in the Athletic is a bit sobering. It doesn’t sound like the club are planning to spend much this summer and any further incomings past Konate will be funded by departures. According to the article: Keita and Chamberlain are staying. Klopp is happy with Williams and Tsimikas as back up full backs. Unlikely to sign a new midfielder to replace Gini Bissouma is not a target A new attacker comes in only if Shaqiri and Origi leave. Attacker will not be elite level (Mbappe, Sancho etc) No new GK unless Adrian leaves Glad to see that Champions League money is a difference maker...
  12. There's a thread over 1000 pages long devoted to "Uncle Uzzy." Their desperation for an oligarch to swoop in and spunk money up against the wall for their benefit is incredible.
  13. Given how things turned out come the end of the season you've got to love that video they put out of the team running wild in the changies after the Anfield Derby. Big Dunc stumbling around dazed like he'd just stumbled out of a nightclub and the rest of them celebrating like they'd won the World Cup. Enjoy the no-mark mediocrity once again fellas.
  14. I doubt Lille could offer Shaqiri even half of what he makes here (rumoured to be £70k pw).
  15. A few of the journo's saying that Phillips will be allowed to leave this summer. Find that a bit strange given 3 centre backs are returning from long-term injury. Why not keep him around until January at least?
  16. Every time I see Koumetio play I'm shocked that he was considered 5th choice centre back in the summer. He looks a million miles away from first team level.
  17. James Pearce in the Athletic today wrote that we're "unlikely" to sign Kabak now. I do think he's decent for his age, but if we're signing that Konate lad then spending £18m on a 5th choice centre back might not make the most economic sense given we have other holes in the squad to fill such as Gini's replacement and, hopefully, an elite attacker.
  18. That Micah Richards makes a living as a pundit is genuinely mind blowing.
  19. The worst of the 3 outcomes for us. Gotta hope Chelsea at least run up a cricket score now. Got to also hope that Tottenham still have a job to do on Sunday and need the win.
  20. No chance that Ancelloti is walking away from £12m quid a year to go to Real or anywhere else. He's still got another 3 years to run on that contract, those fucking idiots. And his kid is pulling in £4.5m a year too. He must be the highest paid non-manager in the entire league! Just like always, they well and truly got their pants pulled down. Did they genuinely think Carlo was joining them for sporting reasons? The guy had been bombed out of his past 3 jobs. Before Napoli, the Munich players were in open revolt because training was lax and a fucking joke under him.
  21. The state of that obnoxious cunt doing the vid. Gasping for air inbetween spewing abuse towards Souness and Carragher. Sounds like he’s about to keel over any second from a heart attack.
  22. Gary Neville is a part owner of a football club which has ambitions of getting to the Premier League themselves in the next five-ten years. They've already motored through the lower divisions because they're backed by a billionaire in Peter Lim. They've managed to attract players from several divisions higher who've dropped down because Salford can blow clubs out of the water with their wage offers. Of course, he's going to be against the ESL because the Premier League would be hugely devalued by the time Salford get there and he his mates won't get their big pay day. For him to pontificate on the morality of football, knowing full well that he has a huge conflict of interest in all of this, is mind blowing. As for Carragher, is anybody truly surprised? He said fuck all during Hicks and Gillett and left it to the overseas players to speak out.
  23. That Malen does look like a player. Very quick, direct, able to create his own chances, and he can put his foot through the ball. From what I can tell he still looks a bit raw, but seems to have loads of natural talent which I'm sure Klopp could work with. Does need to work on his finishing mind. I know he's bagged quite a few, but there's quite a few misses in his highlights packages.
  24. Even at our peak one or two years ago we couldn’t get a win there. Why not try something different? Maybe go three at the back and have two up top?
  25. Being linked to Jonathan David at Lille again. Apparently we were considering him last summer too. More of a Bobby type player than a Mo or Sadio.
