  1. Isn't it one of the first signs of Alzheimer's? My uncle was similar, you will be glad to know he didn't have Alzheimer's but he did get diagnosed with low testerone.
  2. If this happened in Russia or Latin America what would people call it?. The current leader wants to expel the former opposition leader. The man he wants to eradicate hasn't been convicted in any criminal or civil court. This is willed on by a sizeable part of the media who fail to accurately report said events.
  3. Strange country when you have to expel the former opposition leader to appease a cadre of editors and a bunch of Labour right weirdos. I'd add the expulsion of Corbyn is far less to do with him but to warn MPS and activists not to do get any silly ideas of Social Democracy.
  4. He has. Ok which group are we going to make feel the pain. The homeless, the kids and the vulnerable etc. I thought it was quite telling during lockdown how people who considered themselves law-abiding kicked off at new crimes created within that period.
  5. You can never outdo your opponent on crime. As Mic points out it just ends up in more draconian punishment and new crimes appearing on the books. With both parties looking likely to hammer the youth to appear tough on crime, worth pointing how out of step we are with Europe and the evidence. The Age of Criminal responsibility in England and Wales was reduced in 1998, removing doli incapax. The United Nations rights of the child have moved from 12 to 14 due to neurological evidence of the maturing brain. 6. He's got his mojo back, more orange, whiter teeth and comic timing back.
  7. He's been made 3rd captain behind Hummels and Reus. Not a bad achievement for a 19 year old playing in another country, he's already captained them. I'd say leadership is definitely a factor Klopp loves about him.
  8. "So for me, it's my preferred club in the EPL as well. But don't expect that we will make gifts to Liverpool We like Klopp and Liverpool are a proper club unlike the cheats but we still want paying.
  9. I hate our hedgefund owners but I couldn't blame them if they didn't want to pay a transfer fee of 120 plus million on one player. Midfield at his tentative years is extremely difficult to play well and he does but part of the hype with young players is how good they could become and that gets built into the price. I wasn't impressed with him playing with his knee bandaged when he's in a title race with Dortmund. He's played a lot of football for a 19yr old, can't be far off Owen level of games. https://ibb.co/10gMd0W
  10. Good for us but didn't realise they have left Alisson out of the Brazil squad. Not sure if it's left or rested but seems odd not to have the World class keeper who has a strong personality around.
  11. Fair play to Starmer for coming out in support of odourless weed. Maybe he isn't such an authoritarian establishment reactionary.
  12. If he was on the pitch at Anfield I doubt those first three goals against Madrid play out the same way. We need to keep him fit.
  13. City? I'm assuming their interest is genuine. Whisper it quietly but he has a few ex team mates from Dortmund already there, Akanji and Haaland and a few international players there. My point is if our aim is to get the player to choose us and coerce Dortmund to take a lower bid then I could see how it could go wrong.
  14. Well I'd say 10 million is a lot, even more to a bundesliga team. It's not about forcing him to go where he doesn't want but for the club who want to build their midfield around him to pay up. They played hardball with Barca over Dembele and if we were the selling club and the roles were reversed you would expect us to squeeze every last penny out of the buying club.
  15. I wonder what % of players who end up with 12 months on their contract end up seeing it out?
  16. Sounds more like we have tapped Mount up for a free next summer. Maybe taking advantage of their new ownership being a bit green.
  17. With Bellingham being so young it's possible Dortmund wouldn't give a fixed transfer figure 6-9 months prior to a sale. Why would they cap his fee with some of the world's richest clubs involved. Could be let's see how he develops but we value him as a bigger prospect than our record sale Dembele -- and English players with the potential quality of Gerrard, Rooney, Ferdinand don't come up for sale often. If the plan is for Bellingham to choose us but another club bids 10 million more or xxx amount of cash up front, it could get messy. Van Dijk went on strike to get his move. I doubt Klopp wants this type of situation with his former club where he is rightfully worshipped. It's not just the player choosing us, we would be relying on the goodwill of Dortmund.
  18. I spoke to a friend who had some data on prison officers and police officers who were suffering from PTSD that was not dissimilar to soldiers. What we do with the police and prisons just isn't working for the majority who come into contact with it. The phrase its a feature not a bug is relevant to the below paragraph. In practice, much of what the police do across the country is deal with social harms committed by people who are disproportionately poor and/or in need of mental health services. Misdemeanours perpetrated by people on lower incomes are far more policed than those of the rich. Another snippet. For inspiration, it’s worth looking across the Atlantic. In Denver, for instance, a team of health workers deal with incidents involving non-violent, vulnerable people, such as trespassing and mental health crises. These are cases previously dealt with by police, but which is more appropriate? Or take the city of Eugene, Oregon, where an agency of young medical workers and mental health counsellors called Cahoots – Crisis Assistance Helping Out on the Streets – have been dealing with incidents previously responded to by armed cops. In 2019, Cahoots dealt with 20% of all calls to the city’s public safety communication centre; of those 24,000 calls, just 311 needed police backup. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/mar/23/met-police-uk-radical-alternatives-policing
  19. Gakpo looked like he has been here for ages. He can do a bit of everything and looks like he can play anywhere on the pitch. The complete opposite of Anthony who you nailed with his style over substance. Konate back and Fabinho looking sharp no suprise to see Trent better.
  20. Well well we should know by now never to write off Klopps teams. A few players first game at home against them and they absolutely annihilate their mob.
  21. One counterintuitive positive is Klopp actually settled for the point. Almost like ok we are a bit shit so if you can't win make sure you don't lose away from home. Normally he always goes for the win.
  22. Palace work hard off the ball but Olisesh aside they have Everton level attackers. Klopp needs to give Trent a slap some woeful stuff from him. We have struggled for goals in the 2nd half let's see what happens here.
  23. We need some red lines on injury prone players, how on earth was Arthur ever allowed to be signed. Why were we reportedly offering Keita a new contract. Probably need to consider how many players aged over 30 midfield/attacking players we have at any one time on the books. In some cases you can have older players who are fitter and less injury prone but they tend to be outliers.
