I just bought my wee fella a new pair of boots. He's hard to buy for, and the only ones I could get to fit him properly were plain black Adidas - just like the OP but with a hint of blue around the top of the tongue and on the soles. They look boss. The number of people (other lads and their dads) who have commented on how cool they are is just ridiculous. Nobody else is wearing anything remotely similar.

This really is a twat of a deal. It absolutely sickens me. But the Glazers know what they are doing. I recall when they took over they commissioned some sort of global brand awareness survey, explaining in minute detail the value of the business and it's international reach. It's that kind of corporate professionalism that pushes the buttons of the top-level global financiers and helped give them the credibility they needed to get their flotation done. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do something similar here. At first sight it looks like an insane deal, but I bet Adidas were absolutely, credibly convinced that they were buying provable value at that level. Cunts.

I agree with this. I'm not sure but I think I saw the ref with a yellow card in his hand at one point but he didn't show it to Krul (reffing standard at WC has been VERY poor). Also, on Robben: I know he's fast but does charging into the box regardless of who's in front of you until everyone ends up in a pile constitute a foul? I'm not sure it does.
