  1. Roma, with the second leg at Anfield. Knocking them out of the competition in front of our own support would be a thrilling experience for them. Something they can treasure for the rest of their lives. It’s the polite and well mannered thing to do. A well deserved gesture of thanks after selling us Mo Salah for a princely £37M. It’s the very least they deserve.
  2. You're probably right, but it's a pity. Martial would be a good fit.
  3. I do, and I bet I'm not alone.
  4. Paul Joyce wrote in today's rag that in January, when Liverpool were pushing to bring forward Keita's transfer from Leipzig, the German club responded with an offer of their own. If we sold Trent to them, they would release Keita early. Liverpool declined the offer. If true, that's some tribute.
  5. I listened tonight on R5. According to his co-commentator, Robbie Savage jumped out of his seat and roared when The Ox scored our second goal. Have to like him for that. I did too.
  6. Listened on R5. Commentators made him MOM. "Recovery" and "delivery" most frequently used descriptions of his performance. Robbie Savage used "incredible " every time "The Fucking Man"t was involved. Chuck Norris never died, he took-up playing football.
  7. Just paid some money into my bank and they insisted I have an immediate lesson in Internet Banking. The upshot is I’ve used my newly acquired skill to renew my subscription to the site. I see it not as a subscription, but a sacrificial offering to the Gods of Trade and Commerce before tonight’s first round battle with City. Mammon is not a false God, he’s the one that matters most. If we lose, I want a refund.
  8. http://www.cardiffcityforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=194550 Cardiff fans seem pleased with Grujic. Here are some comments from the above forum link. I think he has been great, just what we needed in January and you can see why so highly rated by Klopp. Mind still didn't stop our fans judging him to early. Grujic has grown into the position and he is turning out to be an excellent loan, maybe we can get him next season ? Marco Grujic Cardiff City Stats : 10 Games 9 Wins 1 Draw 0 Losses You can see exactly why Klopp rates him. Was effortlessly brilliant yesterday. Forming a formidable midfield bond with Callum Patterson Was unreal yesterday, so good on the ball and they couldn't get near him. Grujic has grown into every game, getting better all the time. He’s only 21 too. I love his posession play - it’s so hard to nick the ball off him. With Gunnar back and Rallsy on the mend, we’re going to have some serious options for the run in. Grujic and Gunnar combo is mouthwatering. But Pato is the man - that’s the signing of the season right there. That eye for goal is a rare ability. Love him! Can’t wait to see Warnock unleash this midfield against Wolves. I'd love us to have him back on a season long loan next year He just keeps getting better every game and is so composed on the ball Def grown into the role. He gives the ball away in bad positions sometimes but other than that he's been a good signing! I said on here a couple of weeks back that when Gunner is back then Grujic will be pushed more forward and then we will see his creative side more, I honestly think the guy is just going to get better and better. A few have mentioned if we go up we should get him on loan next season also, is that an option that has been said by either club ? Or our fans wishful thinking ? I'd have thought we would be in a great position to get him on loan again if we went up. Can't see him making the Liverpool team especially with Keita to join in the summer. If we went up it would be an obvious move to get him experience if warnock wanted him. If we don't go up may still be an option I'd guess. Depends if anyone other clubs took an interest

    Joke!

I went to a fancy dress party dressed as a chicken. Met a girl dressed as an egg. A question as old as time was answered. The chicken.
  10. Jenni Russell in today’s Times refers to an Arts Council report on the dramatic decline in the sale of fiction novels. Fiction sales peaked in 2008 with annual sales in the UK of £230m. By 2016 they had declined to £150m. Taking inflation into account this represents a drop of 40%. Meanwhile sales of colouring, diet and cookery books has risen during the period. Russel claims a friend of hers who is a professor of English literature at London University is convinced few of his pupils read course novels from cover to cover. They merely read cramming notes and memorise key paragraphs, doing just enough to pass exams. The article puts the blame on social media as more people use it as an alternative to fiction because it is undemanding, only requires a short attention span and does not challenge readers existing views and prejudices in the way novels can. It would appear those of us who enjoy this thread are a dying breed. If fiction sales continue to decline the thread could become a museum piece in years to follow. Meanwhile, back on track, the article praises the importance of a good novel in broadening the mind and refers to Louis de Berniers , “Senor Vivo and the Coca Lord”, which explains how a good man can become a torturer. Has anyone read this? I enjoyed Captain Corelli’s Mandolin but have never read any of his other novels because they had such poor reviews.
  11. Today’s Times report Man U are considering methods of improving the atmosphere at Old Trafford which they accept is far too quiet. After considerable thought they have arrived at three ideas; printing the words to chants and songs on some sort of hymn sheet and handing them out to fans before they enter the stadium. Printing the words on the clubs official website, or printing them in the match day programme. In the spirit of musical appreciation, do any of you have any ideas to help the sad bastards out? No piss takes please, this is a serious issue. Thanks.
  12. Ndidi has won more tackles in the season to date than any other player (125), and is joint top of the dirty player league with West Hams Milivojevic on 57 for fouls conceded. Our very own Firmino lies in 5th place for fouls conceded with 47. Soooo, as they say on Snapchat, Ndidi is good at tackling and fouling. Given Naby Keita’s shabby disciplinary record we could have our dirtiest midfield since the glory years of Jimmy Case and Captain Souness. About time too.
  13. A visit to the equivalent thread on Blue Moon confirms many of their fans fear the worst. The level of clichéd vitriol is hilarious. Bin-dipping, hub-cap nicking media luvvies with a Klanfield atmosphere that intimidates refs into giving undeserved free kicks and penalties that Sterling must be protected from, are some of the more rational missives. I must confess when I read, “I hope Delph plays”, I wept with laughter. I hope he does too.
  14. We can knock City out; they are not the force they were before Xmas. We are the underdogs with a terrific Anfield atmosphere and an attack that will score against them in both legs. I honestly don’t think they will handle the pressure of being favourites.
  15. Harry Wilson scored again for Hull City last night. That's 3 goals and 2 assists in his first 5 games since he began mauling for the Tigers.
  16. Ray Houghton made the same point on R5 but said Mane should also have played in a wider position too. Houghton felt by sticking to a narrow attack we made it too easy for Man U to defend. On a happier note, an Arsenal fan asked on a You Tube clip of MU v Saville if anyone else read a Mo Salah tweet last night which said: “The UCL draw can’t come soon enough”. Rub it in Mo, that’s our boy.
  17. There is a God after all. He's Spanish, not Scouse.
  18. Can always plays well against that lot and would be my first choice in midfield. Not starting with the Teutonic poseur is like playing Sugsy on drums and telling him not to sing. Madness. Wijnaldum is injured I believe.
  19. A slight quickening in the trousers has been known, but its tenderness not hypocrisy. When we sign Wayne Rooney brace yourself.
  20. I’m expecting Mourinho to adopt the Swansea managers tactics; clog the midfield, forget enterprise and hope to exploit a set piece or defensive lapse. I hope Can starts, he always plays well against that lot. I'm confident of victory because they are not as good as us.
  21. Liverpool player scores at start of second half. Grujic bends in a screamer from the edge of the box to put Cardiff 2 – 0 ahead against Barnsley.
  22. Stick with what we have and give Gomez games at CB. Overall, Gomez has been our most consistent defender throughout the season and deserves an opportunity to play in his preferred position.
  23. Swansea 1 : Liverpool 0 Liverpool 2 : WBA 3 Bottom feeding bitches rule. It’s the hope that kills you. Sad but true.
  24. About time too, cause we haven’t missed him.
