  1. No. This benefits Liverpool due to the sell on clause. Liverpool are due 35% of any fee over £300,000.
  2. Is it Nacho you're refering to? Or is it Joao Carlos Teixera?, he's portugese.
  3. It's just sickening that undeserving people got them and the deserving didn't. Here's some that didn't that deserved to. Bill Shankly. Turned a mid-table 2nd division team into the best team in Europe. Bob Paisley. The most successful manager ever, 13 major honours in just 9 remarkable seasons. The ONLY manager to win 3 European Cups. Brian Clough He won two titles with two different English sides and won back to back European Cups. He's only the second manager in England to do that. Bob Paisley being the first. Bobby Moore. World cup winning captain. The other 8 members of that team should also have been knighted. Those that were knighted and undeservedly son Bobby ''Ticket Tout'' Charlton. Knighted for surviving a plane crash. Alex Ferguson. Knighted for funding a political parties election campaign. Trevor Brooking. Knighted for scoring a goal in an FA Cup final in 1980.
  4. You're missing a few pieces of fact. It was £16 million upfront. There is an outstanding £2 million to be paid depending on success most likely to be goals scored. There is the loan fee of £2 million. This adds up to £20 million.
  5. We owe Brendan a debt of gratitude for managing to get £20 million back on Carroll. Very few thought he would get anywhere near it. It's £24 million if you take into account the £4 million saved in wages for the last year.
  6. There is a swift recruitment policy needed as the squad was way too small. Two players in January made a hell of a difference, three new players this suimmer should see things improve even further. There looks to be a few more too. I'm not including Mignolet as he's the deputy keeper. If we can sign Mhkitayran and keep Luis Suarez, we may and this is may have a very good season. And that is without signing anyone else. However I do think there will be at least one more after that.
  7. I prefer to call him the mother disowning bastard. He's scum of the highest order. He used to have an operation every summer to remove his head from Matt Busbys arse. Even George Best said he was a massive brown-noser. I know Emlyn Hughes was a well known brown-noser, but Charlton was far worse.
  8. I agree with that. Kirkland was injury prone, Carson was a kid and Jerzy Dudek could go from the inspired to the error prone. However when Jerzy was inspired he was awesome. Pepe Reina is more consistent allround, there is no debating that. Mignolet is an interesting one. I would love to see him nail down his place in the team. He has the look of a top keeper, whether or not he proves to be is a different story. It's way too early to pass judgement.
  9. As long as none of our kits are pink like the kit worn by the bitters then it's okay by me. Everton having worn that became known as the ''Village peoples club''.
  10. We've been linked with everyone except Joey Barton and Phil Jones. Thank fuck for that, both are shit.
  11. Who is ''Ticket tout'? Kenny is a class above that mother disowning, sympathy seeking, gobby ''I have an opinon even when it doesn't concern me'' bastard Charlton. He's the self proclaimed ''Gentleman of the English game''. The reality is he's not. The reality is, he's as welcome in his home city of Newcastle as Hitler at a barmitvah and Graeme Rix at an under 16s disco. His own brother Jack hates him. The ''Gentleman of the English game'' is Ian Callaghan who after a 20 year career with Liverpool and Swansea and 900 appearances was booked just once for back-chatting a referee.
  12. I know getting into the champions league is important, but I want to see us do it as champions, and reclaiming whats rightfully ours. Trophies are important too. It's trophies and not top 4 finishes that have made Liverpool the most successful club in English football. It's trophies and not top 4 finishes that have made Liverpool the most successful English club in Europe with 11 trophies. The fact of the matter is with regards to the league, every position below first is failure when it involves a big club. If you're a small club like Arsenal, Everton and Spurs, 4th is success. However winning trophies is just as important. You can polish trophies, but you cannot polish a top 4 finish. If Liverpool finished 4th and won nothing, I would call the season a failure. It would mean improving. I would call the season a success if there was a top 4 finish and a trophy.
  13. Ah come on be fair. He is a very good player, he's lively which is a real good quality. He also has spark too, he took no shit off ferguson and said ''Fuck off you cunt, and you can fuck off too Phelan you baldy bastard''. He would definitely make it at a small club like Manchester United.
  14. The last time we had a number of keepers fighting for one place was the 2004/2005 season. We had Chris Kirkland, Scott Carson and Jerzy Dudek fighting for one place. All three got games, and we ended up winning the champions league. All three played their part. Carson was Jerzys deputy because CK was injured towards the end of that season. Maybe Pepe has become complacent because he's not really had much competition. I reckon Pepe is the sort of character that will relish the competition. It will make him an even better keeper. If he performs to the maximum, he will stay in the side and be impossible to drop. However if Mignolet starts the season as first choice and impresses, he'll be impossible to drop. It's catch 22.
  15. The reason why Robbie Fowler is loved by us Liverpool fans is the fact that he's a scallywag. He's a cheeky little fucker. He was cheeky with the goals he scored, and he was just as cheeky with some of his celebrations. Not just with us, he taunted Manchester United fans on a regular basis. In 2004, he taunted them with the ''Mourinho celebration'' having scored against them for City. Nobody dare piss him off. Graeme Le Saux knows better not too, after Robbie made a gesture Le Saux is a shirt-lifter. I love cheeky players. Razor Ruddock pulling down Cantonas collar was class too.
  16. Yes I quote rumour sites. That's normal everybody does it during the silly season. However I'm not deluded enough to put them into a team. It's putting non signed players into a team and formation that gets my goat. There is two different extremes. There is dream signings. There is a lot of us that would love Mess, CavaniKevin Strootman and Jordi Alba, but that's unrealistic. There is the rumour mill and there is putting non LFC players into a team. That's just going too far.
  17. That's the problem I had on various forums with posters naming our first 11 for next season. They were putting players into positions who don't play for the club. We've had Eriksen in midfield and Papadopolous at centre-back. It's delusional. I said at the time that Liverpool were then linked with 800 players and that figure was set to rise long before September 1st. I've been proved right. Every single day a new name pops up. You're right, the media are like a stopped clock. They occasionally are right.
  18. If Beckham a skirt-wearing squeaky voiced imbecile gets knighted, then the whole thing is a joke. There has been a number of undeserved knighthoods i.e. Bobby Charlton, Trevor Brooking, Cliff Richard and Alex Ferguson. There has been some that deserved in no certain terms to be knighted. Bobby Moore and the other 8 of the world cup winning team that weren't. Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan( The first manager in English football to win a treble) and Brian Clough and Jock Stein. Kenny Dalglish was revered at two football clubs. His 27 major club medals was outstanding. Kenny Dalglish was firstly crowned the ''Prince of Parkhead'' then in 1977, he was crowned ''King of the KOP''. There is also his managerial career and his charity work. The man is a living legend of the highest order, and has done a hell of a lot more than Bobby ''five medals'' Charlton.
  19. If Beckham gets knighted before Kenny it will be an utter disgrace. It was bad enough Charlton was knighted for surviving a plane crash.
  20. Excellent point. I can't see a reason why Kolo Toure can't cement a place as a first team regular if he starts and shines against Stoke. He is a giant of a man. He's definitely no shrinking violet, by any means. We're definitely not going to be as timid as we were last season that's for sure. We got bullied way too easily. That's set to change. Apparently Iago Aspas loves a scrap, the bigger the defender...the happier he is.
  21. Why is it most people remember Eeegors bad performances? He did have some stand-out performances. Against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions league in 2005, he was class. He was threading Jan Molby like passes. He was possibly the only Liverpool player ever than never smiled. However there is rumours going around when he was on his own in his car he used to head-bang and was a bit of a nutter.
  22. Pepe Reina has reiterated his desire to remain at Liverpool for the next 3 years. This is just my opinion that he will then move back to spain to join his beloved Atletico Madrid. Contrary to reports, Atletico and not Barcelona are his boyhood club. He did start his career at Barcelona but he is an Atletico Madrid fan.
  23. According to the English press he's joining Spurs Then again the majority of the press are London and Manchester United biased.
  24. This is a brilliant debate. It's well worth debating on. Both have different qualities and both in my opinion are likely to be retained. I cannot for the life of me see Jordan Henderson being offloaded. In my opinion if any midfielder is sacrificed for a new arrival say Mhkitayran. My gut feeling is that it will be Shelvey. Overall both Allen and Henderson are superior footballers. Allen has the ability to probe and control games, where Henderson is more of a natural athlete and his short passing is exceptional. Shelvey is not athletic, can be sluggish and indisciplined. He is a very good player but not as good as the aforementioned.
