  1. 1) Different firms that were competing for shares of the drug trade. Manchester and Liverpool gangs worked a lot together until the 80's when it became a free for all. 2) The rise of hooliganism played a big part, Everton and Liverpool supporters often belong to the same family, so man u became the target for extreme violence. 3)Tribalism became rife, and was exacerbated by the strife of the time, with high unemployment, dock and mine closures, as well as other industries lost which translated in social terms into a mass anger. 4) Thatcher. 5) sky 6) The lack of hope. The background to the so called rivalries in football all trace their roots back to the 70's and 80's. In the case of Leeds (to some teams) it went back a bit further, but the rivalry between manchester and liverpool was political in nature. Right up to the late 60's, early 70's the fans got on pretty well, you had the odd scuffle, but nothing like the organised violence which was to come. Thatcher basically left Liverpool to rot, and it became the butt of a million scally jokes, the riots, hooliganism and thuggery were not started by Liverpool. I'm not trying to paint a pretty picture here - the LFC crews were good at what they did, and they had many running battles with man u fans in the 80's. Then sky came along and notched the tension up at every opportunity. They made a huge deal out of it, and they still do it whenever they can, with every club. So, in answer, it's a combination of factors, and I know I've missed some out, but I'm a bit pissed so fuck it.
  2. I suppose it's slightly better than picking up hookers to murder.
  3. Are you one of those people that goes on the internet to try and change peoples minds and then insult them when you can't? Do you understand what an opinion is? Do you also have a reading comprehension problem, or are you just looking for a fight? Once again, for the hard of reading, I don't give a fuck about manure, to me they are irrelevant and I'd much rather put my energies into supporting Liverpool than wondering what someone who supports another club thinks about us.I really couldn't give a fuck about the manufactured rivalry that has its roots in thuggery and ignorance. This is my opinion only and if others have a different view that's up to them because I really couldn't give a fuck about that either. Is that clear enough for you, you fucking mong?
  4. I said they are an irrelevance IN MY BOOK, which means to me. I couldn't give a fuck about them or everton or any other fucking team for that matter. If they are not Liverpool I don't fucking care, simple as that. Fuck me, I see the threads on here about the bitters or manure being obsessed with us, and it is the rankest fucking hypocrisy because half the posters on here seem more concerned about what those teams are saying about us and doing than they are about LFC.
  5. Started watching this last night after "getting hold" of the first series based on comments in this thread Not bad so far, but a lot less tits than spartacus
  6. Is Xerxes actually MacedonianRed, a previous RAWK member? Very similar posting style. Maybe not, as Xerxes doesn't seem to post hundreds of transfer stories, or maybe he just can't be arsed on this board ;)
  7. Murdoch owns fox. Murdoch is a cunt. Therefore I won't be watching. Unless they stream it, which means less money going into murdochs pocket, in which case, OK.
  8. When I say "fairly new" it means in the context of how long the 2 clubs have been around. Certainly it started to get more toxic as the hooligan element really got going in the mid to late 70's, but for me it really changed around the time fungusface took over. So, yeah it's a "fairly new" thing. I don't hate them, because it's pointless (to me) to hate an institution I don't give a shit about or hate people I don't know. Hate implies you feel an emotion towards something, but in my book they are irrelevant which is a far worse insult.
  9. All this man u hatred is a fairly new thing really. I seem to remember they played a match at Anfield against Arsenal in '70 or '71 because they couldn't play at ot for some reason. There was always rivalry, but it wasn't the toxic thing it has become today. Personally I think that's down to ferguson, and some good old fashioned jealousy on our part.
  10. Why the fuck would I waste my energy hating an abstract when I can use that energy positively to support my own team.
  11. Had a dog years ago that was a great dane/black lab cross, proper huge fucker he was. In general he was soft as shite, but was a great guard dog. In summer he used to sleep out the back on an old sofa, and the one night someone came over the back wall. He let them get all the way up to the back door, then let a growl out, chased the would-be burglar down the garden and tore his trouser leg off as he was climbing over the wall to escape. I saw it from upstairs and didn't stop laughing for a good 10 minutes - the fucker still had the trouser leg in his mouth the next morning and presented it like a fucking trophy. He was also thick as fuck and used to walk headfirst into doors and walls all the time, there was nothing wrong with his eyesight, he just never got the hang of looking where he was going unless he was really focused on something. Died a happy old chap at 15.
  12. I have them on Kobo format (EPUB) and Kindle (MOBI) so if you have either of those readers PM me your email addy and I'll send them to you.
  13. Agreed. It's more tricky when they're pups, but they'll chew the crap out of anything at that age anyway. A few toys, maybe leave the radio on and as long as they've been fed and walked they're happy enough. Some might be a bit sulky at first (which cracks me up) but they get used to it soon enough, and they are always waiting for you when you get in, so even after a shit day you have a smile on your face as soon as you walk through the door. Mine stays with my brother when I have to travel for work, and she goes fucking mental when I go to pick her up, and what's weird is she always seems to know when I am getting home.
  14. I work as an independent security consultant, and business has never been better. Whether that's down to the recession or not, I don't know. My core clients haven't changed much, but I am getting a lot more referrals for sub-contracting from a couple of the bigger firms and it's at the point where I can now cherry pick the better jobs rather than having to take on the shit work I did when I first started out.
  15. The pet shop near me sells non branded dried foods that are very high in nutrition, I combine this with oats soaked overnight, and a little water, giving a small-ish meal twice a day (morning and evening) The branded foods are usually just full of shite, leaving the dog hungry again an hour later. Having said that, the mad fucker can't seem to get enough seaweed and chows down like a good 'un anytime I take her to the beach. Never seems to do her any harm though, and maybe she craves the minerals etc that are in it.
  16. I'd recommend a Staffy every time, although if you got a pup you'd have to keep them lock in a part of the house with nothing they can chew to bits. I woke up in the middle of the night after hearing a strange sound, turned out to be my staffy pup chewing on the leg of the bed lol. Once trained and over 18 months - 2 years they need less attention and 3 30 minute walks a day, plus some play time and cuddle time. You can leave them in a kennel outside but they are VERY inquisitive and love to nose and root around, so you have to make sure anything potentially harmful is locked away. Contrary to what most people think, they are great with kids and people and are generally very people oriented to the point where once they get past the puppy/play stage they will generally want nothing to do with other dogs. Of course you can get round this by getting them to play with other dogs as often as possible, although their play can look like fighting sometimes. They are one of the most food focused dogs, so treat training is not a problem, although in my experience they hate choke chains or other kinds of collar leads and much prefer a harness. Fairly easy to train, very intelligent, loving, great with kids and a joy to be with, BUT like all dogs they want a routine and to stick to it. Oh, they are very bouncy as well and training them not to get up on hind legs for a fuss and a cuddle is pretty hard, you have to do it though because strangers tend to think they are jumping at them rather than just saying hello and wanting some fuss.
  17. Well fuck me sideways, it turns out that Tracie Andrews of road rage lie infamy is living in Pz and has been outed by a bloke she allegedly shagged - I say allegedly because the bloke who sold his story to the shitrag is a known bullshitter, woman beater and general all round wanker. I'll link to a local news site which ran the story, but it has been taken from the shitrag, so be carefull not to click on a link (there are a couple) KILLER ON THE LOOSE | Cornwall Community News Here's what cracks me up - how stupid do you have to be to out a murderer who knows where you live and who still needs anger management sessions. For anyone who knows the area and/or some of the people here, the guy is actually called simon beavis (I know) and not thomson as the article states.
  18. Fair play to him for all he's done, but if he starts the FA cup final, we'll lose, simple as that.
  19. Newlyn is great :) Had some good nights over the swordfish. Not so great living near a twat like him though...
  20. Fair enough :) Like I stated I don't have any party affiliation. Just to address your points though, "noo labour" spent very unwisely, blew all the money, sold off gold reserves, were mired in sleaze and brought about the formation of the surveillance state we now live in. It semed like we were living high on the hog at the time, but it's like someone who just pays off the interest on a credit card then keeps getting the credit amount increased, combine that with the de-regulation of the banking system (since noo labour came to power, banking has risen as a proportion of GDP until it now stands at just over 30%) and the myth of drip down economics and you have a disaster that any thinking person saw coming a mile off. Now I'm not saying that any other party is any better or would have done a better job. What I WILL say is that we are trapped in a broken system where party politics is foremost and the wishes of the electorate are an afterthought, and that goes for ALL the parties.
