  1. He's been playing really well the last few games, putting himself about, making passes, making runs, looking like more of an all action midfielder, possibly helped by the fact we have Fabinho playing in that holding role and bossing games. Hendo's form has been reminding me of 2014 when he played well and we last almost won it. Remeber he missed crucial final games and felt at the time we missed his presence.
  2. For what it's worth (not much) I had a similar dream but woke up before the end. City were losing then equalised whilst we were winning fairly comfortaby (2-0 I think). It felt like it was going to happen...then I woke up too... Brighton were decent at home earlier in the season, but really not expecting City to do anything other than win especially given their recent form. Whatever though, we've had a fantastic season and we've pushed them all the way. Hopefully we can put on a performance today and enjoy the game.
  3. Highly unlikely we're going to have another season like this with this number of points with one defeat only, but even if we did, looking like City are looking at around 95-100 points a season until someone gets bored. It's just the way it is and in football you never now, sometimes the unexpected happens. Even so I want to win something again and perhaps we should take at least one of the cups more seriously next season.
  4. That was VVD taking control and telling Shaq to take the free kick...
  5. We've had enough chances to get a result here, as someone said, no composure unfortunately.
  6. Suarez burning all his bridges tonight. Hate playing teams like this, rolling over, making a meal of every bit of contact, continuously trying to influence the ref at every opportunity.
  7. Not really been expecting City to drop points, they have too large a squad and they don't even have the CL to distract them. Football in this country (and elsewhere) has clearly changed with the influx of literally billions to build a team and hire one of the best managers to coach that team (one who is experienced at managing the best players). It's not going to change because noone seems to care enough about this huge financial discrepancy for some reason. This season it feels like a lot of neutrals want City to win the title basically out of spite for us. Of course if it were their team who were having their best ever season it would be a different story and they'd be crying foul play. It's clearly not fair (financially) and it doesn't even feel like 'sport' to me sometimes anymore. City will potentially dominate English football for years whilst they are the publicity vessel for rich sheikhs and their kingdoms. It WILL make the game boring and it will become a turn off for a lot of fans. When you see a number of teams at HOME not registering a shot on target or a corner in what's supposed to be the most competitive and exciting league in the world, you know there is something very wrong with the game here.
  8. Horrific. I have spent a little time in Sri Lanka and they were some of the nicest and most hospitable people I have ever met. It's just so sad that this happens in today's world.
  9. Exactly that! I can't believe I'm hearing it, but maybe it's a fear that if we do win the league we'll have the team and the manager who could go on to win it a number of times.
  10. I'm not pinning any hopes on the Mancs, they're not playing particularly well and I think that their fans would prefer City to win this over us. I have the unfortunate 'pleasure' to work with a number of them and to a man they'd prefer to lose to City on Wednesday and drop into the Europa than beat them and possibly hand us the chance to win the league. There is absolutely no doubt in their minds. So in spite of them being their city rivals, in spite of City being financially doped up cheats, their vitriol for, and rivalry with, us transcends all of that. If what I hear them say is typcial of their wider fan base then the atmosphere in that stadium on Wednesday will not be a typical derby one and I wonder just how much the players will want it. Like some others here any hopes we have of City losing points will be against lesser teams who hopefully will be playing for pride rather than thinking about their summer holidays! We just have to look after our own business. If City drop points, then great, but if not, then we'll set records for a second place finishing team in the league that may possibly never be broken!
  11. Oh fuck off Watford, didn't expect you to get a result, but this just sends the wrong message. No reason to rest players whatsoever!
  12. This is going to be brilliant, absolutely can't wait! Going to get up at 3am on the Monday mornings (here) to watch it as there'll be spoilers everywhere! 6 episdoes left of one of the best TV shows ever. And 11 weeks of night shoots to film the big battle, that is going to be epic!!!
  13. No I didn't see any preview, looking forward to it now!
  14. Enjoying this second season more than the first, has a more traditional trekkie feel to it (for me) and I like the whole red angel theme running through it. I actually like Pike as Captain too for the moment and don't mind Yeoh to be honest as I think there may be more to that story than we've seen so far. The whole finding Spock thing though feels a bit contrived and drawn out. Am hoping that actually leads to something significant, I'm sure it will. All in all good tv...especially the last episode!
  15. Wrong option chosen or just poor execution all game. Don't know if it's just player anxiety or pressure but it's been as frustrating as fuck to watch. It's been happening in other games but we've still managed to play some good stuff around that. Today's just been a disappointment.
  16. i've counted 4 cynical fouls from that cunt already
  17. I don't get the Keita criticism at all. There's clearly a player there and he has shown glimpses of his obvious talent. I've read he is a bit of a slow starter at new clubs and in the good old footbaling days a player like this would have been given the time to adapt to a new league and demonstrate his clear ability. There are many examples of playes down the years who have started slowly only to become great players in the Premier League and the old First Division. Perhaps the criticism stems from disappointment that he hasn't hit the ground running, but very few players do this. Even the Ox took 6 months to bed in. I tihnk we as fans should be shouting encouragement at Keita rather than taking the first opportunity to pick on a mistake or something he hasn't done. I thought he played ok last night and was growing in to the game. The surge where he should have been given a penalty was a great moment from him. The guy is only 23 years of age, hopefully he's going to turn into one of the greats, if we show that patience and support.
  18. Klopp is by far the best manager we could have at this moment, he fits this club like a glove. His infectious enthusiasm and love for playing the game the right way is what makes him such a popular manager and person. I wouldn't change him for any other manager and he will leave a positive legacy whether he wins something or not. However we really do have to win something...and I don't care what that is. We mustn't forget that players also play the game to win trophies. At the moment we look like we are on the cusp of something very very special and that's partly what makes us attractive as a club to players. We've seen this before (although I don't think quite to this extent) so we feel a bit cautious and like to manage our own expectations as we don't want that disappointment again. However, I think Klopp hit the nail on the head when he arrived, you just have to believe, and with the impressive work he has done since his arrival, the success will come. It's arguably here already but winning titles and cups is the ultimate goal.
  19. This Man City love in on here is making me feel ill. They've spent absurd amounts of money and bought some of the best players in every position and one of the better managers in football, it's no wonder they're where they are. I just wish they'd fuck off.
  20. Me too, a super league as described here is not for me. I like the whole domestic leagues with a separate European competition. Would soon get bored of watching a few rich clubs play each other over and over again. Separately the BBC website report suggests we weren't involved in the initial discussions... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46078651
  21. The smiles were back yesterday and he was superb at times! He is a joy to watch.
  22. not overly happy to see that line up, especially as we have a week until our next game and I want to see our strongest 11, but it should be more than strong enough to beat a Cardiff side who have taken 5 points from 9 games...!
  23. That's been my reading of it too. His demeanour reminds me of Coutinho's before he eventually left. The smile has gone. I thought it might be because of his slight drop in form/the injury/disappointment of Cl final/ his argument with the Egyptian FA, but it's been like this since pre-season and he doesn't seem to be 'enjoying' his goals like last season. It's quite possible it's something completely different in the background that we're unaware of. I just want to see that smile back!
