Stunned, absolutely gutted, but I guess always a possibility seeing how much he puts into it and he has always left clubs on his own terms. Going to enjoy this season even more!

Only see one winner, that being the sports washing oil state-sponsored fantasy football team which has been making a mockery of the sport since they started funding the club with obscene amounts of money, bending the rules in any way they could to hide the fact, and responding to any challenge to this with a highly paid legal team using all manner of delay and obfuscation of the truth. The credibility and integrity of the sport is at stake for me. I'm not far off my 50s and as someone who has watched how football has increasingly been transformed by money and power, I'm sometimes finding it difficult to maintain interest in it. If it weren't for Klopp's talent and enthusiam for the sport I might have already binned it off. But it's hard to let go of Liverpool FC, the history and what we stand for. For that reason alone, I'm still watching. Hope Inter win, but I won't be watching.

A point makes little difference if the other teams get results, which whilst unlikely, still possible. West Ham are safe, last two games vs Leeds and Leicester before their final...

What the fuck is wrong with this team? All over the place at times. Misplaced passes even over short distances, mistimed challenges, mindless decision making, poor shooting. We are a total shadow of ourselves.

Feels to me that after last seasons monumental energy sapping efforts with some success but also tangible disappointment at the end, this team is really struggling to get back into it mentally and physically. I don't think this is helped by the fact that our style is high intensity, lung busting pressing, yet our first team is now one of the oldest in the league and has been asked to play this way for a number of seasons now. I think it has taken its toll on some of the players. Constant renewal is essential in my opinion if this is going to be the signature style of play. If the players are no longer able to play this way then the tactics must be adapted. You can see the newer players like Diaz are fresher and more willing and able to go at it, but those that have been asked to play this way for seasons now appear to be less at it so to speak. Might just be me, but that's how I see it at the moment. Just feels like we're treading water to survive this season where we see moments of what we're capable of but don't have the mental concentration or physical energy to maintain it for long periods. I can see us going all out in one compeetition - the CL - to give us any chance of qualifying for CL next season. The World Cup break might do us a favour depending how many of our players end up going and how long they go for, but by then it will be too late to chase so much back in the league,.

Really disappointing this. Didn't expect an easy game, but thought we'd have more about us than this.

Obviously raw and young with a LOT to learn about the game. Got talent, but needs to knuckle down and do the hard work every day. IF he does, then he could be a beast for us. He has the perfect manager to nurture his talent if he listens. Obviously now also going to get targeted by defenders EVERY game he plays, so his match day attitude and temperament will also be tested. He's put himself under more pressure than he needed to be.

Frustrating opening day performance, especially after last week, against a team that for most of the season we expect to be struggling (it may turn out differently). In the past an opening day draw away to a newly promoted team wouldn't have been seen as a bad result, but the standards and stakes are so high these days with City amassing so many points every year, that such results feel more like a defeat. I honestly, maybe naively, thought we'd win this comfortably. But it's only the first game so no point in overreacting, we just need to improve quickly. It'll be a strange old season with the world cup stuck right in the middle and perhaps that'll shake things up overall with less points needed to win it this time around.

We had enough chances to get ahead in the game, didn't take them and then I think playing every game this season took its toll, especially after Real scored. Players leggy, mentally exhausted, not really getting forward in support of attacks, not able to box to box attack and defend. It's been a brilliant season with a disappointing finale.

It's the best chance of getting a result against us if we don't take our chances/ the keeper plays a blinder

I love this incredible team, this perfect manager, this proud city. What an amazing performance after such an intense season. The team deserves this and so much more. They are writing history and I feel so honoured to be able to live through it and enjoy this amazing journey.

Great result after a tough few weeks/games and a massive Champs League semi final basically just over 48 hrs ago. It was inevitable Klopp would have to rotate players and those that stepped in did really well. Was worried that this might be the one we would slip up in, so v happy we got the win. What a team this is.

I can't remember which game it was, but Jota had a massive shove in the back with much more force than those today and all the commentators were adamant it was a fair challenge and no pen. Their double standards reveal their bias.

All about disrupting the game. It will continue second half. We need to be better than this,

well this is frustrating after some brilliant performances recently. Everton playing all 10 behind the ball, every trick in the book to spoil the game and timewaste, which I guess is the only way they have a chance of getting anything out of it. We need to be quicker and sharper. It will come.

Unbelievable sums of money being discussed as per usual. It's why I can't take football too seriously anymore. This used to be a game played by people with some grounding in reality and with links to, or perhaps at least some understanding of, what ordinary working people's lives were about. Big money has ruined this, for me at least. These days it's a greedy, self-centred, grotesque example of what is wrong with this selfish world. I don't begrduge players getting a good wage, especially as careers can be short, but when money is the be all and end all, and when greedy publicity seeking agents are involved, it just turns me off the game to the point where I really don't give a shit if a player such as Salah leaves or not. He is a fantastic player, but there are a multitude of other players who will come in, show the right attitude (under Klopp at least), and who may not be as good as Salah is right now at times, but as a team I am sure (again under Klopp) we will always challenge for trophies. Jota has been outstanding since he signed and Diaz also looks a great buy from what we've seen of him. Life (and football) always moves on. If Salah wants to stay he will take the offer. If he doesn't, he won't. I'm tired of hearing about it to be honest. Que sera sera.
