  1. But how many 'proven quality players' did we actually seriously, whole-heartedly try to buy?
  2. Sure they might have won five in a row but as has been pointed out this week especially their performances haven't exactly been that brilliant. As usual the question remains where are our goals going to come from? Sure we can win this one but we're probably going to have to see our best performance of the season so far to make that happen, and given the low bar that has been set so far then it's certainly not beyond us.
  3. ....I mean "He grabs coins like a Jew"?! Have you been living with your head up your arse for the last 2 weeks lad? FFS!
  4. As harmless as the intention of this whole thing might be how fucking retarded do you have to be to think that you're going to get away with something like this in today's football. Whether you agree or disagree (frankly I don't really give a fuck either way) he's a just a thick fucking moron. No doubt he will be getting 10 games or some other kind of disproportionate punishment in the name of saving the soul of humanity and the kids living on the streets of Mongolia or *whatever* Anyway, fuck this shit....last thing we fucking need.
  5. I'll be honest in that he never won me over in his first season and that was largely due to our defensive frailties and the 'pass to death' methodology that he started with. Obviously that all changed last season and I was and am totally onside with him and liked what he was doing, But the shit has really hit the fan now and things need a 100% turnaround and is he the man to do it? Is he the man to drop one or two of the expensive players that he's only just brought in? Is he the man to maybe bring the curtain down on Steven Gerrard's Liverpool career because he's not an effective DM and people believe that he doesn't have 'the legs' anymore to play in his best position? (all of which remain to be seen). Is he the man to realise that you can't be a successful football manager with a shite defence and finally give this the attention it needs? (unless you maybe have the World's best footballer in your team to paper over the cracks) . I honestly, truly am 100% behind him and I desperately want him to turn this around, really do. If it's not to be then it's not to be and but I think as fans we need to do our bit now and support him rather than throw him under the bus.
  6. ...what would you do to turn this around? For me: 1. Drop Lovren and bring in Kolo as a like for like replacement effective immediately. 2. Bring back Lucas Leiva as defensive midfield. 3. Play Steven Gerrard in a No. 10 role. 4. Go cap in hand to the owners for some transfer money and start feverishly trying to identify a Striker, Centre Back and Goalkeeper for the window, There we go a few idea to start with.
  7. Maybe not but he's the best DM at the Club and he needs to be in this team immediately.
  8. THIS. Just stop fucking playing him and give the shirt to Kolo, my God how much of this fucking lad do you have to see before you realise he's shite?
  9. We've been shit at the back from Day one of Rogers' tenure and now it's all coming home to roost. Rogers can't fix this problem he just doesn't have the insight for it as it simply doesn't fit into his philosophy. It's like a blind spot for him that turned into a gaping chasm. I'm gutted, really am.
  10. It's like last season never happened and we've just gone back in time 2 years. He's fighting for his job now, I don't really like saying that but it's true, this rubbish can't go on.
  11. I think we needed another Striker in January before this news so I guess now it's almost imperative if we're to salvage the hope of the Top 4 finish. I also wasn't exactly in the camp of "Just get Daniel back and everything will be alright again" either although of course it would be a massive boost. Maybe Borini needs to get a proper run in the team now?
  12. Crazy that we're even having this conversation isn't it? However when you have one and a half good performances in 11 games and not one of the many summer signings have really done much to improve the first team then that's going to put pressure anybody regardless of what has gone before. As much as do love the attacking football I have to admit I'm getting seriously pissed off at this conceding two goals every fucking game almost because teams with poor defences win nothing and we've been shit at the back now since the day Rodgers arrived. I really hope we find some form, find some goals and sort our shambolic defence out soon otherwise I'm genuinely worried for him. Hypothetically, if he were to go I think we need to proven manager, somebody who has been there and done it, won trophies and also competed strongly in Europe. Anyway...he has my full support, sort it out Brendan.
  13. Wow this really does sum up our defensive problems doesn't it? Kolo until the window opens again for me. At Christmas we need a CB and a Striker if we are going to have a realistic chance of playing Champions League football next season.
  14. Meh whatever....never liked the cunt anyway.
  15. The truth is that it's probably not going to work out for Mario, we agreed it was a bit of a gamble and would not be a disaster if it didn't work out so let's not go overboard on him, we'll move him on in Summer and that will be that. Far bigger concerns in the immediate term are sorting out our defence (which has been fucking crap since the minute Brendan Rogers arrived) and trying to line up a striker in the January window. I do hope we get on the phone to Sami when he gets sacked from Brighton in the next couple of weeks and offer him a coaching role.
  16. I fucking hate half and half scarves. Especially seeing those whoppers wearing them at the Derby, all I could think was "what a waste of a good fucking ticket". If I was going to make an exception (and I never have personally) it would maybe be as a European night souvenir or something but that's it.
  17. I can't agree with this, certainly not from what I've seen of him. To be honest he scares the shit out of me and he's always an accident waiting to happen. He may or may not be a good 'defender' but he certainly can't play football and that's something that's always going to make a defender look bad in this team.
  18. It's a yes from me. No comparisons to Suarez as that's ridiculous but for £16M it's a no-brainer. I'm excited actually, good news.
  19. But here's the thing right.... A year ago Suarez had a so called buy out clause of £40M hence the Arsenal bid, the club as later admitted by JWH simple turned around and said fuck you and it was a little bit ambiguous and we'll face the consequences later if necessary. So basically all parties (Suarez, his people and the club) came to an agreement later in the year that went like this... Luis can sign a new contract now, have a big pay rise and a move next summer as long as (a) It's not to an English Club and (b) We will actually put in place a bona-fide buy out clause this time that is considerably more than £40M It's not Ayre's fault that we didn't get more money for the lad, the buy out clause was met and that's the end of it.
  20. They met the buy-out clause didn't they? So that's as much as we could have gotten isn't it? Why don't we wait and see who we sign before we start taking out the razor blades eh?
  21. Well he finally got his wish. I'll say "fuck him" but that's only because I'm disappointed. He was and is a genius, one of the best I've seen but it's an insult to the real greats and heroes of this football club to speak of him in the same breath such is the way he's conducted himself. Good luck lad...as long as it's not against us. Let's spend this money wisely.
  22. Coutinho is the one. He'll be the Club's and League's most improved player next season.
  23. Shame they cancelled those cheap flights from John Lennon to Copenhagen. Went a couple of times last year for about £60 return all in.
  24. Whenever a player chooses to leave our club before they are asked to it does often trigger my 'fuck you then' reflex. Liverpool Football Club mattered to him for the time that he was on the pitch, can't deny that and I respect and appreciate what he's done for us, but the moment he left the pitch we didn't really matter to him at all as he's demonstrated on several occasions. So for that reason I won't be gushing or going over board with my goodbyes, I'm sad and annoyed as you can't really replace a player as good as this, they are born not bought but he's not the first and won't be the last.
  25. £75M sounds reasonable, I'm unhappy that he's leaving but that price tag sounds about right. Let's face it he wanted to go last summer and he wanted to go this summer and if he stayed (was forced to stay) as a result of his catastrophic antics at the World Cup then he would only want to leave next summer too. Can't say I'm holding out much hope over this Sanchez business, it doesn't sound like that'll be happening, This money really needs to be spent well, we can't afford to fuck this up like we did with the Torres money although totally different circumstances. Would be nice statement of intent if we could really come out of this blasting with a couple of 'A-listers' rather than more 'promising kids with potential'.
