    Our squad is paper thin as it is, even before we sold Babel. We definitely need a new Winger or Striker. It'll be a shame if the Suarez story is true, he can play both of these positions him and torres would be one of the most lethal attacks in Europe, I feel that we're gonna regret not signing him.

    I was very impressed with him at the end of last season, when he got a run of games on the left wing. I just wish he'd shown more than just glimpses of his potential during his time here.

    To be honest I really like Maxi as a player, shame we signed him 5 years too late :wallbutt: He has a great footballing brain though, he links up with Gerrard and Torres really well.

    This lad has it all: Strength, speed, flair and a great finish too. I remember Carragher putting in his book that he is one of the hardest strikers he's ever had to mark, along with Thierry Henry, because of his suprising strength and determination.

    Carragher has looked a lot more suspect since we signed Johnson. He certainly was a lot better in 08/09 when we had Arbeloa at right back.

    I think hell be a great help to Martin Kelly, having been in the same situation as him, hopefully Kelly will turn out as good a defender as Carragher was in his peak.

    I think he normally plays in the hole, but can also play on either wing. Reminds me of a young Van Der Vaart and would be better than cole as a second striker in my opinion

    The offal says that young PSV lad Ibrahim Afellay wants to sign for either us or the mancs. Looked class for Holland against Sweden, and could be a bargain seeing as his contract runs out in the summer.

    What we need, and have needed for the past few is a winger with a bit of pace, you look at the top teams and you see wingers such as Valencia, Lennon, Malouda etc. The closest we have to that is Babel, who cant control a ball if his life depended on it.

    He looked very left footed today, maybe thats because he was coming infield alot, seemed to get pushed off the ball by Richards very often.

    Trezeguet would do a decent job for us as a big target man, we miss someone who can take some of the pressure off of Torres. Could also be a sort of role model for Ngog to base his game on.

    Stick Babel on, we've got no pace in attack apart from Torres who isnt 100% fit.
