  1. I went to Krakow recently and it was quality. I expected it to be full of horrible Polish fellas and stuck up birds but it's not. Just don't act like a wanker and you will love it. The birds over there in general are game as long as you aren't an absloute letch.
  2. Ye I agree with you. What I mean about it being staged is that they must have discussed it before deciding to film that scene. In that bit it looks as though they both meant to sit there acting dumb saying what's happened then suddenly Briatore starts trying to pin the blame on Palladini. In turn Palladini being the absolute arse licker he is starts flapping badly. He is definitely not close to him. It's like Briatore is Mr Burns and Palladini is Smithers. It's comical. The bit when Sousa plays one man up front after they've had that meeting about negative tactics and Palladini starts ringing Briatore to grass Sousa up is absolutely brilliant as well. It just makes Palladini out to be an absolute weasel.
  3. Anyone else think the bit where Flavio is talking to that sleazeball of a sporting director (Baldini, i think), about them signing Faurlin illegally because of third party owbership, is massively staged. Flavio is playing dumb saying "what is this all about? Are we in any trouble" Baldini starts saying "we have done nothing wrong the FA have got everything" so Flavio asks why are we being investigated if we haven't done anything wrong and the FA have everything. Baldini seems to get on to to Flavio trying to put the blame on him so starts saying he doesn't deal with the legals the office do. "So then why are you telling everything is fine when it's not and you don't know. That Baldini is everything that's wrong with football at the moment but it was hilarious watching him. He is like Flavio's Phil Neal in the impossible job with Graham Taylor.
  4. Seriously it's absolutely brilliant. There are more catchphrases from it than you can possibly remember. The "real live taxation" he performs on Danny Dyer is one of the highlights. He whispers something in Danny Dyer's ear which Dyer says is so bad it could not possibly be repeated on television. I don't want to ruin any of it because it's literally brilliant but he basically spends the whole programme trying to explain how hard he is while also trying to look highly intelligent. He does this by trying to use as many long words as possible in completely unnecessary circumstances.
  5. If you haven't seen the deadliest men episode with Stephen French please take the time to watch it. It's all on youtube and is literally some of the funniest television ever broadcast. Ever. Ignore the fact that it's Danny Dyer and you have one of the most comical characters in history (French) walking around Liverpool chatting absolute nonsense for about an hour.
  6. People using phrases like 'Volante' need to take their head out of their own arse.
  7. I think the thing with early Lucas was that at times he was getting played in front of a full fit and in form Alonso and at other times getting brought on at the wrong time. All obviously not his fault but it got people's backs up. Especially the season when we were going for the league. It also created the nutcases who went round saying he was the best thing since sliced bread when he wasn't. Henderson hasn't got that problem because none of the centre mids have been firing on all cylinders and although some people will moan, it's not as big of a loss giving Henderson some game time so he can improve over say Adam, Spearing or Lucas compared to giving the early Lucas game time over Alonso, Masch or Gerrard. I think if you were to compare Henderson and Lucas when you look at both their early periods for Liverpool Henderson has looked the better player. This is obviously when played in Centre Mid, as out wide he was been a complete non-entity.
  8. Lost it my bum hole. He's played some exquisite passes to just Carroll alone since he's come back I'm sure the screamers will follow soon.
  9. I always thought it would be random words in italics next or maybe even underlined words but it seems you have gone for the randomly placed question mark now.
  10. Do you bold words as you go along or do you go back and select which ones look most appropriate? I've (tried to) read your posts on at least one other site in the past probably when you were putting random words in capital letters instead of your latest fad. Seriously why do you do it? It makes your posts pretty much unreadable.
  11. Playing Downing on the right has been a completely pointless exercise. Fair enough if he was banging them in but he's not. Even though he is fairly confident on his right the quality of his early crosses and byline crosses just won't be as good. I hate seeing ideas persisted with that just blatantly don't work. We had years of it with Houllier and Benitez, I hope the King bangs Downing on the left and Bellamy on the right and tries to play to Carroll's strengths or we might be in trouble.
  12. Who is going to buy him for anything remotely near to what the club would be willing to sell him for. On top of that who is going to pay the high wages we will be paying him. No top club in England for a start. So who else? He will be here for at least a few seasons because we have spent £35m on him and the chance that he might just come good. The club won't want to sell for anything less than £20m and I don't any club would pay over £10m for him. At this moment in time it is looking like an absolute howler of a transfer but all it takes is a run of games him getting a few goals and us finishing in the top four and that would all change. I personally just can't see it happening. This season anyway.
  13. I am one of the doubters. I still think he's got a lot to prove. Yesterday though, I will give it to him he was the best player on the pitch for us. Mostly because of his passing. I thought the Adam, Henderson and Lucas partenership worked really well.
  14. I think that's where our opinions differ. Those goals were scored inspite of the shite negative tactics he employed for the first two thirds of that season. Until the league was already lost and we threw the kitchen sink at them when we had nothing to lose. We had some brilliant players which Rafa had signed and he deserves credit for that. He often takes stick for signing crap players and wasting money. I don't buy that as all managers have bad buys. It is how he used his players and specifically that season that annoyed me the most. He assembled a really good side but ruined it by basically trying to stifle every team we played and hoping Torres or Gerrard came up with magic. They did a lot of the time that season but it wasn't enough to win the league and a lot of people could see it happening before their eyes. The rest just had tunnel vision as they usually do with Rafa. If only we would have attacked teams more often we probably would have won the league that season. Whilst Rafa put us in that position and great as it was, it showed to me that we would never win the league under him as he never had the right mentality for the premier league. And it was a shame because he's not a bad manager he just can be.
  15. I keep seeing this incident brought up time and time again completely out of context. No booing in the ground is ever acceptable but that time everybody in the ground knew what was coming that season. We had given ourselves the best chance of winning the league in nearly 20 years. All this mostly due to the brilliant players Rafa had signed and nothing to do with his negative shite tactics. That specific season we had to come back from being down more than 10 ten times in the league. This was due to the fact we started every game negatively trying to contain the opposition and in a lot of games we did the business in the last 20 mins because we had to. Unfortunately in a few games including the West Ham one we never went down meaning we never tried to attack early enough. We went top of the league but everybody in the ground knew at the time that wasn't going to be good enough and that's what led to the boos. Unacceptable but understandable. In the end people were proved right
  16. I've never seen that before. What a brilliant goal. The commentary is also quality!
  17. Watch Video CLASSIC GOALS - Vegard Heggem 1998/99 at blinkx Found it. I used to love Heggem, it was a shame he was injury prone because he had talent!
  18. After the Steve Finnan effort this thread needs some Vegard Heggem action. I think he scored 3 and all were decent. If anyone can find them I'l tip my cap.
  19. Last night's Suarez goal had me thinking. It was a league cup game away from home, only on the foreign. By the end of the season it will probably become forgotten even though it was a brilliant goal. I then remembered a goal that Hamann scored. I think it even got goal of the season, yet some of my mates had never seen it/forgot it happened. I then got to thinking there are probably goals I have forgot about myself. Anyone got any obscure brilliant goals they think have been forgotten? eg Redknapp v Vladikavkaz, Fowler v Brann Didi Hamman's goal V Portsmouth - YouTube Here's the Hamann one. Probably my favourite non Fowler goal of all time.
  20. I hate the one where the linesman doesnt flag until the attacking player gets to the ball. It fucking does my nut in. For a start the attacking player could sprint 30/40 yards to a ball wasting energy and risking injury when a linesman could flag early. Secondly it becomes a massive grey area. I've seen a few incidents where players have cleared the ball for a throw because they were under pressure from offside players but couldn't take the risk of letting them get the ball and be flagged offside because the linesman hadn't flagged. It's only a matter of time before this leads to a goal and subsequent uproar. In this instance and generally all offside positions the linesman should be flagging straight away and it's up to the ref to decide if the player is active or not. In general I think the offside rule should be all in one phase. If you are offside then you should not play part in an attack until the ball is cleared by the opponentor that attack is stopped.
  21. I think we are going to see ......................Reina......................... Kelly........Carra.........Agger......Enrique Henderson..Gerrard..Adam...Downing ...........Suarez..........Carroll.............. I would change Henderson for Bellamy though
  22. Ye there's nothing worse than early on the game you get through a hard dungeon and you can't carry the loot. I had gone off games for a bit but my three to buy were FIFA 12, Skyrim and COD but now there's Arkham asylum and Mass Effect 3 as well. I'm not going to have time.
  23. He can be hit and miss David Conn but that's quite a good article. Martin Fletcher rips Popplewell to shreds.
