  1. Believe me I specifically didn't go there. I wasn't going to assume his issue with Rodgers was his name isn't Benitez. He's proving he's not changed in the slightest with some of the laughable results he's getting due to some typical laughable decisions he's making.
  2. You are obviously not a complete idiot. I just don't understand this attitude. Look around. We are not the top of the food chain any more. We are not just going to hire a manager and win the league within a year or even 3 and beyond. You could put Ferguson in charge of us and we probably wouldn't get into the top 4. Who are these proven managers you are after? Hiddink? Ancelotti? Capello? Most of the proven managers just won't simply have the fight and the long term plan for what is required at Liverpool. We need somebody in charge who lives to manage the club. Nothing else matters. We don't need some old experienced head to come in and steady the ship. We haven't got the money for a short term fix. We need someone young and hungry and driven. Even in your obvious blind hatred for Rodgers you can see he offers that. Straight away he came in and gave the youth a chance and it's paying dividends. He's even got Downing and Henderson making significant contributions. Not everything has gone perfect but it was never going to. Can you honestly say and old experienced head wouldn't have just come in and played the big names and got us nowhere? This "system" thing that is becoming a stick to beat Rodgers with as well, I just cannot understand. We've played counter attacking negative football for over a decade before Kenny took over. It obviously wasn't an easy fix to change that because even he struggled. I don't get how trying to get the ball back quickly and keeping the ball better than anybody else is an ideal that can be criticised. At the end of the day it comes down to the players we have available and getting the best out them. We cannot compete with the top clubs immediately because we don't have the squad and finances they have. We need someone to think outside of the box and do things differently to everyone else so that in the long term we can get back in the mix. We needed to take a gamble, now we just need to suck it up and see not just bottle out half way through.
  3. Just went to have a look through what you have been posting of late because I knew it would amuse me. Surprisingly you didn't have much to say when we were winning. Comments after the Stoke game and comments after the Man U game. It's great to know that it really must have ruined the Christmas period for you when we beat QPR and Sunderland. You must have sat there absolutely fucking livid. Fucking whoppers like you shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the club.
  4. I'm probably in the minority but I like him. His career obviously has had its ups and its downs and he's done the odd stupid thing in the media. He always talks well when he talks about us though and I genuinely think he is a good manager. It's like he's become fashionable to slag off. Whenever that happens I nearly always end up going the other way.
  5. Leonhardsen on the wing. We had Inge Bjornebye. Oh the lack of trophies on the fields of Anfield Road.
  6. So we have got a better set of players than Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea? You really are a fucking divvy aren't you. He shouldn't have been sacked either. If we are going to make progress then we need stability. It's not as if Rodgers is doing terribly either. We have seen over the past 10 games that his system can work very well. It's consistency that is the issue. We have now had quite a few managers in a short space of time. That is not good for club who can't just blow 100m on new players every summer. The players need to get used to the new manager and new system. As the season has gone on you can see we have got better. I find it strange that in pretty much all of Dave's match reports and reviews he points all this out to everyone to the point where you can't really argue any of the points he's made. You then look at these threads and it's full of fucking whingers coming out with the same cliched bollocks. Win a few games everyone shuts up. Lose one and the "we could finish 17th and that would be acceptable" shouts start coming out.
  7. To anyone just viewing this on its own it looks like Barton being a dickhead. Anyone that follows the pair of them will have seen Hamann winding Barton up on a weekly basis for a while. Barton has laughed it off countless times. He bit here and went massively over the top. He made a complete arse hole out of himself. Hamann could have easily body bagged him but didn't especially considering some of the shit Barton was saying. I honestly don't know what Hamann was after.
  8. I think it was a mixture of both. If you remember the one where Reina kicked it out poorly that was down to United pressurising us and so was the Joe Allen one. He was pressurised and most of his options cut off. Sloppy pass in the end but it was down to United pressure.
  9. Savage was the panto villain in his hey day so he probably feels some sympathy.
  10. Please tell me you are taking the piss.
  11. He's on twitter. I troll him every so often. If you think Samuel is lazy you want to see that cunt. Fuck me he's awful. I honestly don't know how he ever became a journalist, his English is beyond terrible. He's got his own blog site. I read one of them a few weeks ago. I found myself laughing at just how bad of a writer he is. He must have had a full team behind him doing pretty much everything for him for years.
  12. I already answered your question in my last post.
  13. You're brain must have exploded when you seen Gerrard linking up with Suarez last night despite him playing in centre midfield. There has become this obsession with playing Gerrard behind the striker since the 2008-09 season. Thinking that this is the only way for him to link up with the striker. If anything it became a massive hindrance to the team and was probably the main reason 2009-10 went so badly. In this position a lot of the time Gerrard ends up with his back to goal with only the centre forward to pick out usually marked by 2 centre halves. It might shock you to know but according to Opta Gerrard actually only directly assisted Torres once all season in the league in 08-09 despite the fact that this tactic became legendary it actually wasn't this tactic that won us the majority of the games that season. Last night was a prime example of what we need. Suarez runs and closes down from the first to the last second but it's pointless if he is doing it by himself. Having someone either upfront with him or just off him with an engine like Henderson pressurises the opposition, gains us possession and crreates opportunities. Having Gerrard deeper also gives him more options. Downings run followed by Suarez's second would never have happened had Gerrard not been deeper because Gerrard does not make them runs himself and we do not have any other player with the range of passing of Gerrard to deliver the ball. Gerrard is one of the best centre midfielders of all time and he has all the attributes to become a player in the mould of Xabi or Pirlo in his later years. Neither have pace but have equally the brilliant passing range Gerrard has, we just need to build a team of willing runners around that.
  14. You don't change to a good passing side from a side who were playing a lot of long balls overnight. It is so blindingly obvious that Rodgers method to start with was to try and force the players to pass no matter what the pressure is so it becomes second nature to the players. As the season has gone on you can quite clearly see that we have improved a lot in terms of passing. This is the reason behind it. We had to go through some pains, that Man City goal being the most obvious but these things are happening less and less. Another thing is that players are now sometimes just hitting it when necessary and I think that Rodgers is happy for that to happen but it should almost never be the first thought when the ball comes to a player.
  15. Code's got a point. When he played in the middle, which wasn't often, last season he played a lot better. He was pretty poor out wide but the game time last season has obviously helped him. I don't think he was anywhere near the level he has been the past few games though. He has blatantly got more confidence and it hasn't just made him a decent player it's made him undroppable in the formation and style of play we are playing at the moment. God knows where this confidence has come from though. Credit to Rodgers for changing his mind on him and giving him the opportunity.
  16. Thought it was a really good game and was a perfect example of what Rodgers philosophy is when it works. Skrtel absolutely bullied Fletcher all game and obviously Suarez and Gerrard were at their brilliant best. Ive seen a few people mention Henderson and I think he's been getting better and better recently. He seems to believe in himself a bit more now. I normally don't get carried away with Lucas but today I thought he was quality. He gave away some daft fouls but all in all broke up their play well and was very positive with the ball. I thought the midfield three ran the show. Im made up for Rodgers as well. He's doing a good job in my eyes and the luck hasn't been with him so far. Two wins on the trot and the cup up next. Only way is up!
  17. This is such an odd thing to say. We've just won 3-0 and you post this. Why? You've quite clearly been a member of the site for a long time. Sometimes when I read stuff you put I disagree with it and occasionally think you're a wanker but you're not Code (ie had some sort of mental breakdown) or as bad as some of the other WUMs. You surely don't want threads just melting down into complete bitchfests. I just cannot for the life of me see what you're hoping to achieve other trying to wind people up with a comment like this. We've just fucking won 3-0. Henderson was very good today but I would say Allen was probably a bit better. He's got a very long way to prove if he's got any class at all. As somebody already put rolling the ball 10 yards to Suarez before he goes and scores a goal like that is hardly outing his class. Downing was alright as well but fuck me he's had long enough and a decent performance against the worst side in the league doesn't suddenly prove everyone wrong about him. What a fucking crank you've appeared with this post.
  18. They really weren't. I like Shelvey and think he will make it here in the long run but he had one of his worst games for us against Stoke. Johnson didn't do badly at all. Gerrard didn't play well but he was hardly embarrassing. People like you make your mind up before the game. If you are making laughable comments like that about Gerrard you quite clearly have an issue with him. Understandable because he hasn't been his usual formidable self for a while now, but he is not the problem and neither is Johnson. I see this shit all the time with people if they don't like a player then that's it everything is their fault. Even though he had the balls to step up and take a pen minutes into a game under a lot of pressure and slots it accordingly.
  19. Fair enough. I never looked at it from that point of view. I'm not going to lie. When he first ruled himself out my reaction was "cheeky bastard, you manage Swansea" and thought well he's fucked himself there. If you actually look at what he said though especially in the climate at that exact moment it's not too bad. If I remember correctly he said that managers could ruin their careers by going to a top club especially too early, talking about Chelsea, because your on a hiding to nothing. Then when the club started their recruitment process it appeared to be very public and he ruled himself out of the first stages because he didn't want to waste his time. I think he thought tehy were just going to go for a big name. Since then for me he's been very likable. I liked the fact he came in took charge and said those specific things about transfers. Every time he has spoke he's simply shown confidence in himself and been as honest as he could be. I don't think he's been arrogant at all. I suppose that's just an opinion though. It just seems to me the people that hate/dislike him rather than just being not happy with the results all have one thing in common. And I think you know what that thing in common is.
  20. Really don't understand this bit. Some people's backs were up as sooned as he was hired due to them not thinking he was good enough which I think is unfair but understandable. I just don't understand how you can have "never liked him" it just doesn't make sense to me. What is there to dislike? If anything he has been one of the most easily likable managers we have had from the off.
  21. I would love you to find a post in which I accuse you of stating Rodgers should be gone. ;)
  22. I like him for what he achieved here and he put the club back on the map. He is just seen as this whiter than white figure and I just don't believe that's the case. As time has gone on people just seem to have forgot all the absolutely laughably bad things he did. He became an incredibly bad manager by the end of his reign here.
  23. No sorry LF another failure of a joke on my part. I was answering the question on Eye Glasses behalf. Some people don't like Rodgers whereas some people don't like or want him because he isn't Rafa. If we would have hired Rafa and been in this exact situation I would be saying the same stuff whereas all the Eye Glass type fans would be defending him not attacking him.
