He was pretty good in spells and specific games. I think there was one against deportivo in 2004/5 when Gerrard was out and he absolutely ran the show. I think long term he wasn’t really good enough to be a centre mid and just got shunted into positions which made him look worse than he was.

Jones came off the bench in the first one and was all over the place which was probably the reason he didn’t start the second. He’s been England’s best player in this third game though. There was absolutely nothing defeatist about what I put at all in regards to the tories. It was all unarguable facts which is why you’ve spun this into some weird argument with nobody. When Labour had an actual left wing leader and left wing economic policies there was absolutely nothing defeatist about every single left wing person. Hundreds of thousands of people joined Labour and tried to make it a reality and came very close to achieving it. People are pissed off about Starmer and the current situation because he’s embarrassed a lot of soft lefties with his classic right wing of Labour Tory enabling behaviour and actual lefties know that the say they had under Corbyn has been removed permanently. If there is defeatism it is around the supposed left party being corrupt and now impossible to transform into what it should be. Tory’s can be beaten even with the tsunami of corrupt MSM behind them but it has to be with policies. You’re a completely deluded Tory and you aren’t kidding anyone. If I was to hazard a guess I reckon you’re actually a Southern Man U fan as well. They spent 13 years not winning anything. The only reason the Tory party “won” in 2010 is because of a global economic crash 2 years before. It was a right wing failing by a supposedly left of centre political party. The electorate then had nowhere to go. Even then the tories couldn’t get enough votes and had to go into coalition with another party who gained votes by pretending to be left wing. The complete failing of Labour to move left after that election cemented the tories in power. We then got possibly the worst prime minister of all time in May and her campaign was nothing but a complete embarrassment. She was walking around just saying strong and stable over and over again. They won the election but needed another party to prop them up and the only reason that happened is because the opposition party were trying to turn the economic mainstream tide from basically being far right and were attacked by every form of establishment media and from the vast majority of right wing cunts in their own party who preferred a Tory government. “One thing that is really striking is the Tory party are geared to win elections.” Honestly what planet are you living on? Get your head out of your fucking arse and tell your bird to do the same. The past few elections have shown Boris Johnson could take a shit on TV 24/7 and not say a word as his campaign and they would still win because of the overwhelming Tory propaganda that is put out by every television channel and newspaper in this country. They barely put a manifesto together and rely on being seen as the anti immigration and anti paying layabouts dole money party to get them voted in.

There was a video on Twitter a while ago of every touch Gerrard had in that game and he was absolutely sensational. He was playing from the middle but was absolutely everywhere. It was peak Gerrard and how he should have been getting played every week with two forwards in front of him instead of one. They still did well because they were Torres and Gerrard but it’s what stopped us winning any trophies. Arsenal couldn’t live with him that night because he was facing forward and had more options. Crouch was treated dreadfully by Benitez throughout that year as well. Another weird rafaism of him proving everyone he was right by playing Crouch through thick and thin when he couldn’t score a goal. When Torres was signed and clearly crying out for a partner he just never gave him it. Virtually any time Crouch was partnered with him which was virtually never we absolutely shit goals. They linked so well in this game and it should have been how we set up most of the season. Instead he was too busy putting Voronin on the bench ahead of him or bringing him on instead Crouch. It was painful in some of those draws and losses that season. Typically Benitez shit his bills and went negative again in the semis and we went out.

What planet are you on? They’ve just given a 1% a pay rise and made an absolute mess of PPE. They’re also taking massive amounts of credit for the rollout of the vaccine which largely have fuck all to do with them. Any time any NHS staff member gets a voice in the media they pan the tories and most people agree with them. The country leans left economically but heavily right socially. Whenever Labour offer the same economic take as the tories but with a left leaning view on immigration and other things like trans issues then that’s why the tories win every time. Even when Corbyn offered an economically left wing manifesto it wasn’t enough to beat the country’s pre conceived and mostly true perception that Labour are as hard left as you can be on social issues. If Labour or another big enough party offered a left wing economic manifesto like Corbyn’s with a centre or right wing take on those social issues it would win by an absolute landslide but we will never be given that option.

It’s all very weird that the planning permission is granted as soon as all these shenanigans are revealed. If I were to hazard a guess then I reckon the Ev were still hoping stuff would die down around Anderson and they could get their public funding. The delays were probably half on them wanting it to be put back. Now the tories are taking over the council have basically gone yeah here’s your planning permission go for it. From a local point of view it’s a win win. If the local football team want to spend 500m quid building a stadium why would you ever stand in their way. It’s just free investment which will boost the local economy. I’ll admit I’ve laughed at them because I didn’t think it would get built. The basis of me thinking that is because it wasn’t financially viable and it still isn’t. The money they will spend building the stadium will be far more than the value that is added to the company for a potential buyer so Moshiri won’t make his money back that way. It isn’t going to generate enough money on top of what they already make from goodison to pay for itself never mind actually make them bigger profits to spend on players. Add this to the fact that the ticket prices are going to go up and the weather down there is horrific at winter time and this could all go sour very quickly.

I found it bewildering that they were going ahead with it knowing the money it was going to cost, now though it’s genuinely fascinating. I don’t really understand the end game for them.

The planning permission has passed.

Salah started the season like a house on fire. He was our best player and not just because of the goals but a few months in we were struggling to get over the line in games before the complete collapse in 2021. It felt like the Palace game was the first game where we blew a side away offensively in a long time and it was going to be a turning point. Looking back now it was like the last hurrah. Salah’s form in that first couple of months is stat padding how shit he has been for half the season. I get it, people don’t like seeing him criticised and want to reel off stats that don’t put things in context to defend him instead of using their own eyes. It’s mad really considering how many goals he scores he’s so inconsistent bordering on consistently bad at finishing chances. It’s like Andy Cole without the comedy.

Since the 27 December Salah has scored 4 league goals in 15 games and one of them was a penalty. This is ignoring that his all round play has largely been an absolute joke as well.

Starmer pisses me off because he’s a fraud and I doubt he will bother implementing anything simply because the majority of these cunts will be Labour lifers who’ve spent decades licking right wing arse and he clearly doesn’t want anyone remotely left wing being put in positions of power. Having said all this, it’s not on him. Its on his like though which has caused years of this festering in politics and the Labour Party. Labour didn’t want to introduce mandatory reelection on its MP’s which would have brought a massive amount of accountability and that sort of attitude bleeds down to every level. Democracy itself isn’t fit for purpose in this country.

I reckon they’ve had wind of this from a while ago which is why the public funding talk completely disappeared. The only thing I reckon that might come out as being dodgy is the council paying for due diligence to be able to offer them the finance backing in the first place. Why the fuck the council were spending money on this to benefit a billionaire owned club getting a cheap loan is clearly ridiculous. His shouts of they will pay it back were laughable as well. It was obvious to anyone that they were only paying anything back if the finance went through which it didn’t but all is silent there surprisingly.
