  1. More likely some Islamist nutjob has started killing innocent Swedish footy fans to teach Netanyahu a lesson.
  2. I've said on here plenty of times what I think of successive Israeli governments and my hopes for independence and peace in Palestine. But that doesn't mean I can't call out atrocities on the other side too, and the cunts conducting them, and how their actions can be counter-productive for the people they're supposed to be representing, which I guess is pretty much what's happening here, no? Only a narrow-minded dull-witted simpleton like you would assume that, because someone criticises Hamas then they must be a Zionist. You're a fucking coward too! Can't even own your own comments, whether it's the racist 'rats' ones on here, or the numerous shitposts you've made as ManéMan. Grow a pair, learn to think critically, stop being a bigotted cunt, start answering my questions, and then we'll talk.
  3. What the fuck does that have to do with Hamas, you Jihadist supporting racist cunt? Oh, and do you believe, like @Dicko does, that Israel created Hamas to do their bidding from the inside? Lastly, did you used to post under the name ManéMan?
  4. Let's not play innocent here, everyone posting on this thread knows that 'rats' is a common anti-Semitic slur. Since when was racism like this acceptable on here?
  5. Hamas are clueless Jihadist cunts. They've furthered the Palestinian cause about as much as the Fucking Israeli government have. And now they're holed up in tunnels while the poor people that they're supposed to be representing are being slaughtered, and while the state they claim to be protecting is being dismantled.
  6. "Some Tories" = Crispin Blunt. Step aside, Rory Stewart, there's a new hero in town. It's so depressingly predictable to see bitter old cultists like yourself using this tragedy to make political points against the Labour Party that your man would give his right arm to be readmitted to. I see, too, that someone was arrested for displaying a Union flag at the pro-Palestinian demo in London today. Rightly so, IMO, even though it created a shitstorm on right-wing Twitter, as it was obviously a provocative act designed to cause unrest, exactly the same reason, I would guess, why someone displaying a Palestinian flag was arrested in Manchester this week at a vigil of the dead Israelis, even though it caused a shitstorm on left-wing Twitter.
  7. Tinned tomatoes? No beans? Hot floppy bread? Nick Griffin's forehead?
  8. These are Engerlund fans, they would've seen him as the archeatypal hypocritical 'virtue-signaller'. He's given a lot of ammo to people who think anyone, especially in the public eye, who supports typically progressive causes is a fraud. I suspect that why a lot of people who do believe in those causes are angry with him too.
  9. Turns out Strontium's one of the soundest people on here.
  10. Ashes to Ashes - Bowie Life on Mars - Bowie Good Life - Inner City Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Judy Garland
  11. Mate, we were a target for Islamic terrorists when Corbyn was opposition leader. The idea that these religious fundamentalist freaks even give a fuck who the leaders of the west are and what they say is for the fucking birds.
  12. That's the Tories just casually writing off the last 17 years of Tory governments and the last 8 Tory leaders.
  13. Yep, that's pretty much what I said. I think some people instinctively shy away from the term as it's been ascribed mainly to right-wingers (who've traditionally been friendly towards the establishment, so it has that smell of insincerity about it) in recent years, but in essence it just means some who fights (or claims to) for 'the people' against the elite/establishment that's holding them back and working against their interests. Any other definition is subjective and contested.
  14. I only just now responded to what Corbyn said after seeing people on here praising him. I haven't seen anyone do that with Starmer or Sunak. I just can't get with this idea that Corbyn's a peace-loving pacifist when he talks about 'the only means of achieving peace' is for one side to walk away with its tail between its legs. It isn't going to happen in the real world, no matter how much he wants it to.
  15. Did you disagree with the Good Friday Agreement, which ended the long-standing conflict in Northern Ireland and the bloodshed there and in Britain, even though the IRA's stated aim for decades (an end to British occupation in NI) was never realised in those talks that they signed off on? Don't you think that sometimes compromise for the greater good is better than endless fighting for the sake of being on the right side? I would've thought that's what a pacifist would believe.
  16. I voted for him, not the clown, or his successors, but I would hope he would be a bit more realistic and less ideological in power when looking for an end to this conflict than to say to the Israelis that only way the fighting ends is for them to withdraw completely.
  17. I can't agree with him that the only way to achieve peace is for a withdrawal from all the occupied territories. I would be happy if that happened, but it's very unlikely, and what if the Israeli's were willing to cede much of the territory, and offer other concessions and promises to achieve a settlement? Is Corbyn really saying all or nothing? No negotiations, no compromise whatsoever for the sake of peace and prosperity?
  18. which is why I referred to 'the standard definition of the term' rather than one person's take on it. There's plenty of articles and papers online arguing for different definitions, some arguing that Corbyn is a populist, and others not. Here's the Oxford Dictionary's neutral defintion: Look at Corbyn's political positions re the monarchy, the bankers, the EU, and there's a common theme of them against us, our good is compromised by them, the enemy of the people. It's the same with his rhetoric; often arguing, and often explicitly, that the lot of the common man is not only in stark contrast to that of the wealthy, the privileged, but that the latter's wealth and position is the cause of the formers lot. And, as Stronts mentioned, his slogan 'for the many...' is about a perfect an example of a populist slogan as there is. reading this thread, I think there's some confusion about what populism and populists are, and a belief that it's a slur that only really applies to figures on the right. A populist is not someone who changes their view to win votes, and it doesn't matter what background they come from. It also doesn't matter whether or not we agree with their defintion of 'the elite' - what matters is that they have a definition and are using that as a bogeyman to gain support of the people. As it happens, I agree with much of what Corbyn would calls the elite, and laugh at the idea that it's actually 'left-wing academia' for example, but that's irrelevant. I'm sure they would disagree with what you call the elite, but if we're going down that road, Corbyn had a privileged upbringing, went to a private school, has been a lawmaker for decades, has his own public platform, and is surely a millionaire by now, all of which put him in the top few % in this country.
  19. Corbyn, Johnson, Farage and Trump are all populists by the standard definition of the term (fighting for the people against the elite), and if we're going to say that it's about changing the message to suit the voters, then Farage is no more a populist than Corbyn, both of whom have had consistent (if mostly opposite to each other) views throughout their careers.
  20. She Sells Sanctuary is about Golda Meir's role in the creation of the State of Israel.
  21. It'd be great to see a little less of the blame games, the finger-pointing and the political point-scoring that accompanies every outbreak of violence, and a bit more of an acknowledgment about how, regardless of who's 'at fault' in this decades-long dispute, this is absolute shitshow with plenty of losers, and a sincere conversation about how a path forward to peace might come about. Surely there's some cunt out there with the charisma and the ego and the diplomatic skills to grasp the nettle here and make a name for themselves.
  22. Argh. Every time I see 'high ceiling' I'm reminded of Utd fans and that US tv cop from the 70s Januzaj.
  23. The tealeaves are telling me that, every time we win a game with a contentious decision, #replay will be trending on X, formerly Twatter.
  24. Just imagine, walking down the street, then boom, next thing you wake up feeling groggy and that's the first thing you see.
  25. Looks suspiciously like 'I've got a new roller so fuck you' in Morse Code on the worktop there, Bruce.
