  1. Raheem Sterling. Player manager. Save us a fortune in wages.
  2. Kind of true I guess, even though Lucas was poor also. Main thing for me though is that Lucas kept some sort of dignity and at least kept trying. Gerrard and Torres on the other hand acted like a right couple of cunts. Understandable maybe, I think I would have done the same if I was a gifted footballer and played in this team. Still I think we are sinking to Bolton and Blackburn standards now in the way we behave on the field. Not to mention the way we play.
  3. Yes, and thank God for that otherwise Wigan would outplay us even more. As they are simply by far the superior footballing side. I've been following the Reds for over 30 years and only the worst period under Souness can match this. Apart from being utter shite we also totally lack both discipline and effort. I've been pro-Rafa till today. Not any more, this simply cannot continue.
  4. You my friend are pointing at the real question. Please don't continue to fuck up threads with such clairvoyance in the future will you.
  5. Ronnie Rosenthal. Fowler's debut was the first leg away at Fulham, the five goals came in his second game. Think he scored one in the away game. To you who mentioned Collymore, were you at that game? I was and he was average at best I seem to remember. Won it with a thunderbolt, but that was about it as far as I recall. Apart from the temperature that day, tropical day in the Kop.
  6. And then Aquilani just behind Gerrard and Mascherano just behind Aquiliani :tease: Which would also rid us of the problem of having no decent wide players! Seriously, I agree. In our current situation we need this kind of young ones to make it, and I think maybe Pacheco has a chance. We'll see.
  7. Great discussion! Good job this Rosicky bloke doesn't play for us. Did you see the way he miscontrolled the ball when put clean through. Was ahead and under no pressure what so ever, but still managed to fluff it with his slow spaghetti legs. Real shit that one, glad he's not playing for us!
  8. He does, only too bad it's 19 times out of 20 our defenders he worries by giving the ball away. Ngog is not (at least not yet) good enough to play alone up front against a team of this quality, but he's still unfortunately by far our best option playing that formation without Torres. Going into the season with only one top quality striker was never going to get us far.
  9. Sure. I recommend you get a good tan, take some portuguese lessons and travel back in time to the 1958 world cup. Then maybe you'll find a team that live up to your expectations.
  10. Totally agree. Ngog is steadily improving, I'm starting to believe he may make it here. Remains to be seen, mentality will be the deciding factor I guess. Which can also be said about Babel, all the technical and physical attributes but totally shit attitude. Didn't bother to chase and shut down today, which could easily have cost us two points. Thought Maxi looks like he's able to cope with the physical english game. Apart from that, far too early to tell. More concerned about his lack of pace than anything else.
  11. This season we've been back to the pre-Sami situation, lob any high ball anywhere near our box and we are in trouble. Don't think this has a very positive effect on the team. Kyrgiakos has stopped this. Limited footballer yes, but the same could be said of a couple of other of our regular defenders also. In addition he has actually made me believe that we might score from a corner this season. Has posed more of a threat in a handful of games than Carragher and Skrtel combined have managed in their Anfield career so far. Will definately struggle against Arsenal (or any PL team on the deck basically) but he adds something at the moment which we need.
  12. Insua? Fantastic young prospect! This Aquilani bloke however, get rid :monkeywink:
  13. A couple of months ago Rafa was an idiot for not playing him. No he's not able to handle the premiership. Hope you are not the same people stating this. My opinion: Looks a very gifted player, definately the kind we need. Was poor today, but far too early to make judgement. Of course if you think 'we don't have the time for that' and all that I agree, buying Fabregas and Essien in the summer would have been the better option.:wallbutt:
  14. Left Spurs for Arsenal on a free. Says it all doesn't it. Of all the footballers I have no respect for as a person he may be number one.
  15. Totally agree! Reckon that would have Emlyn Hughes starting to perform again too!
  16. Hope you are right! Seemed pretty pedestrian to me to be honest. Which is a general problem in our team at the moment I reckon. Ngog and Degen  were the only two we had in the team today with any sort of pace in them. Apart from Pepe of course. Probably not at good sign when the goalkeeper is one of the quickest players in the team. In addition to being the best passer of a ball that is.
  17. Gerrard is one of the very best players we have had in the time I have followed this club. (Since late 70s) Fantastic player with a complete range of skills that can win almost any game on his own. I think also that's the reason he's captain, he's the best player at the club. According to quotes from other player he is also a real leader in training and outside the field in general. Whether or not this is true I have no idea. Is the right thing to say obviously in an interview. I watch the games, and in those he doesn't seem like a great leader/captain to me. Hangs/shakes his head when team mates make a mistake, or mishits a pass. (with the exception of Torres, who he seems to respect more than the others, and Carra) Never stands up for a team mate when intimidated by the opposition, but looks disinterested and normally walks away. Body language and communication with team mates looks very negative when we are struggling. These are my opinions/feelings and obviously far from facts. Should I guess I would say the reason may be that Gerrard sets extremely high demands for himself, his fellow players and the club. Only the best is good enough. Nothing wrong with that of course, but I think maybe at times it affects other players in a negative way. I'd make Pepe or Carragher captain. Would hardly affect Gerrard's position at all, and may lift others.
