The Macedonians have made it pretty comfortable for us going into the second half, there's definitely more goals for us here if we want it, their defence looks a bit dodgy. I'd love Soto to score.

Died again for me. Nearly half time, think I'll wait it out until the second half.

Who was the better player? Masch or Didi?
Jokerman replied to 1892-LFCWasBorn's topic in FF - Football Forum
Yup. Hamann was for more composed, far more intelligent and better in possession too. -
Midfield looks a bit lightweight there. I think we're short there as it is, before Masch leaves us. Ideally we'd bring one or two in there at least.

Heskey's the first name that came to mind when I read that ...

I think the optimism stems from the fact that whilst everybody thought there would be a fire sale, we haven't weakened significantly, and in fact we've strengthened the squad as it stands. We did seriously under-perform last season, given the personnel we have too, and I just think so long as Torres stays then we do have a strong chance of finishing in the top 4. I think Spurs will find coping with the Champions League difficult and it will affect their league performance, whilst I do see Arsenal descending too, and whilst Man City are making big noises, nothing they're doing is really convincing me they're the real deal as yet.

I'd hardly say unusable but it's definitely taking a little while for pages to load. It's working much better in chrome than in firefox for me though.- 34 replies

I saw the thread title and Babbel was the first name I thought of actually.

It's a bit of a strange one if he does go there, maybe he just fancies managing in England again. He did very well with Ajax last season, he'd be a great choice for Fulham.

Watched The Damned United earlier on BBC2. First time I've seen it. I'm not really a fan of Brian Clough for obvious reasons but I thought it was very very good. 8/10

Didn't he retire because he was disillusioned by the increasing commercialism in football? That's what he claimed anyway. All he's done since he retired is appear in a load of ads.

Has died. George Steinbrenner: the biggest loser in baseball | Muhammad Cohen | Comment is free | guardian.co.uk I don't know anything about baseball, but he was some 'character' and immortalised by Larry David's character on Seinfeld. Baseball's answer to Peter Swailes by all accounts. It's a good excuse to post this anyway.

It's the Summer of George! Vinnny O'Connor is an Evertonian isn't he? Assuming it's the same one who used to work on City.

Zrinjski thrashed Tre Penne 4-1 in the first league, so San Marino is out, whilst Bangor got a good draw away in Estonia, giving them a good chance to conquer Honka at home.
