My beautiful lilac Burmese - Frodo is missing. He's got stuck up trees in our back garden before and had me up a ladder in a storm at 4.00am getting him down, but he's never gone missing overnight. The missus is out right now knocking on doors hoping he's locked in somewhere or stuck up a different tree.

It seems really weird that this is the first season I can remember that we haven't got a star player in the team. I guess it's what a lot of supporters feel since Suarez left and we haven't signed the £30-40m player we hoped we'd get such as Reus or even Sanchez. In the past we had Suarez,Torres, Gerrard, Owen, Fowler and further back players like Barnes and Dalglish/Rush. That's not to say that we haven't got a lot of very good players, but not a star - I'm hoping one will mature this year and my money's on Sterling - he could end up with 20 goals and 15 assists.

The Hobbit 2 8/10 a return to form after the very average first film. Really good, constant action, still surprised by some shit special effects though considering the budget and profile of the film.

Has Ilori featured in our pre season games? If not why?

Yep - I'm sure our wage bill will go up massively this year and that does impact on transfer fees available - we're going to have a lot of players on £60k-£100k a week.

You know if we got decent money for a couple of players out of Coates, Agger, Reina, Lucas we could have the money for a £40m player on top of Moreno, Lovren and Remy.

Serious question - have we been linked with a striker to replace Suarez? I didn't think Sanchez would've been a replacement IMO. Would Mandzukic be realistic/worthwhile?

So we sign Lambert 4m Can 10m Llanana 25m Ogreni 10m Shaqiri 15m or Markovic 25m Lovren 20m Moreno 20m Total 105-115m we were thinking we had a net spend of around 60m so that's 45-55m of Suarez's 70m (IMO) gone who are we signing as a replacement? Sanchez isn't a replacement is he and he would take the rest of that money unless it's him or Shaqiri/Markovic leaving us 25m for a striker - am I missing us being linked with a replacement because we need one. We could also raise another 20m in sales via Borini, et al.

In the interests of the forum I have consulted with my friends brother who is a former RAF pilot and has spent the last 20 yrs working for Virgin as a pilot - he thinks there was a fire caused by the lithium batteries they had in their cargo - which most airlines refuse to transport. Normal fire theory - pilot changed course but was ultimately overcome by fumes - extinguishers put the fire out and plan carried on until it crashed into the sea.

So you want a spoiler? What I will say is that like a few characters in the TV show that storyline is very close to as far as we have got to in the books. Given how the last 2 books are I wouldn't be surprised if they condense 2 books into 1 series albeit money talks and they might pad out into 2 series.

Where did you get the figure of £127m from? I've seen that we got £97m from the premier league (which was the highest).
