He might not have signed a new contract at all if we insisted on a buyout clause that was too high, you have to remember that he's been looking to leave for at least a year now and the new contract was signed by him in order to ensure that he could get a transfer out. He was never going to stay another 4 years at the club, the new contract was him getting higher wages and a cast iron buyout clause while we tried to insert the highest buyout amount that he and his agent would agree to. Imagine the shit that would be hitting the fan right now if he never signed that new contract. A player who is banned again for 4 months, wants out, Barcelona come in for him (a club he's always wanted to play for) and we don't have a buyout clause in place. They'd be offering the same or less than Arsenal did last summer. I know we stood firm the year before but that was to a domestic rival, we'd seriously have to consider it. After all he'd have a year less on his contract and you can bet your arse that he'd be putting massive amounts of pressure on the club to sell up. He eventually put away his titty lip last year and went on to have a great season but if we denied him a move to Barcelona I think we'd have a time bomb on our hands.

For a bit of nostalgia I downloaded Resident Evil 1, 2 & 3 on the ps3 for £11.99. They are all ps1 ports so the graphics are a bit old school. I've been playing Resident Evil 1 all day today and have been struggling like a proper noob. I had forgotten how difficult it was, health and bullets are in extremely short supply but there's plenty of zombies to get past. The knife is basically useless so for some of them I had to use my old Outlast tactic of sprinting past them. Had to restart the game about 6 times as I had got myself into a situation of no health, 3 bullets and the only places left to go were absolutely teeming with bastards. I've eventually got through the early game and am now the proud owner of a shotgun, which I'm looking forward to introducing my undead friends to tomorrow. Anyone else given these a bash? I noticed (after I paid of course) that the small print says that RE 2 & 3 are the US NTSC versions, that shouldn't matter though should it? Are games not region free?
