  1. Without additional rules tied to revenue, this will be a great incentive for sports washing and vanity investors to start buying mid-table clubs.
  2. This is now mainly just Howie and the apes. Which is, obviously, a great name for a band.
  3. Well, yes. ET was talking about fining him for the wrong attitude and keeping him on the bench. That article says Slot likes his wingers put one on one and beating their man. And getting subbed a lot.
  4. If Salah decides to run down his contract, he would probably continue to chase his records and I don't think he would be downing tools or anything like, unless there is a major falling out with the new management as well. That is not in his nature.
  5. OK, so there is absolutely no chance anybody from the Saudi league outside the top four would even try to get somebody like Salah, which would prompt the top four owner into action, rather than waiting for him to fall into their lap, safe in the knowledge there is no possibility of competition whatsoever?
  6. I seem to recall Gerrard saying his club should invest more, and someone sacked Igor after a string of bad results (how he managed to land such a (presumably) lucrative the job is a mystery to me) so there seems to be some competition and fans and different actors trying to push their own clubs ahead. I would expect there are competing princes and groups behind some clubs. But as I said, I don't really follow Saudi football.
  7. I don't know, but I would expect there would be some competition between the clubs and different patrons and sponsors, otherwise what's the point? And even if they are only one collective buyer for that market, as you say, it's probably not that easy for them globally, so it makes sense to get him as soon as he is available.
  8. And when we say "Saudi can get him whenever they want" we seem to be forgetting that there are different clubs in that league as far as I know. You go after a player with one year left because next year you may still face competition for his signature. Unless, obviously "Saudi" buy for all clubs and then just distribute the players through a lottery system.
  9. After Everton. There was still a possibility after winning at Fulham, not very likely, but it looked like we might at least be back to winning games. I do agree that after United it was obvious the form has gone the way of the slight points cushion and it was just a matter of time when the next slip will come, but I didn't expect it in the Palace game.
  10. I would be surprised if Salah is here next season or if he is offered an extension.
  11. Imagine how frustrating it would feel watching the Forest game if our season didn't turn to shit.
  12. I just hope he is a fearless no nonsense Dutchman.
  13. It looks like Brighton's few good years are over. If Bournemouth beat them, Bournemouth would have won 45 points over the past 26 games. So that Iraiola looks pretty good now. As you were.
  14. I don't think it's just Salah, now that there is nothing to play for anymore and Klopp's team are on the way out, malcontents will be more vocal. If we cannot find a position where Salah can be consistently useful with his often unbelievable assists, there is not much left. So, Mo Salah, Mo problem.
  15. Who fucking cares? We area about to implode and we are discussing Anthony Taylor.
  16. I wouldn't worry about him not swearing, the way we are playing and being refereed,
  17. No you wouldn't because that never ever happens. It's not a deliberate thing, it's something which creeps into every team when the boss is as good as gone. Klopp is actually telling us that. And one other thing. Just because the fans adore him, it doesn't mean that (all) players do as well.
  18. Can we just finally admit it is because the manager is leaving and players are no longer giving that extra effort that makes Klopp's teams effective? It's staring us in the face.
  19. I suppose at least he isn't someone we know we don't want.
  20. Update on Russian casualties from Mediazona, 1208 new names takes the total to 51,679. Interesting info in the update, they now have 238 names for planes and helicopter crew members and know that at least 10,500 of KIA served as convicts, https://en.zona.media/article/2022/05/11/casualties_eng
  21. Don't quite understand why ATACMS and not air defense stuff though. Maybe they did send that as well and it would have been even worse without it. And what was that shit with Abrams tanks yesterday about?
  22. Can't be much worse than the reaction to the current run of bad results under Klopp. But I get you point. And since we have began restructuring a year ago, it makes sense to bring in someone who can make use of it and continue building on it.
