  1. I agree. It just seems way more prominent on the left.
  2. An axolotl is an amphibian. And Dave's monologues alone are worth paying for the podcasts.
  3. Grrr. Society isn't exactly how I think it should be and anyone who thinks differently to me is not only wrong, but a fucking idiot. This is why the Tories consistently get voted back in. They are always able to unite under a common goal. The left would be able to argue amongst themselves in an empty room.
  4. I've a sneaking feeling that McConnell and Bradley will have worldies tomorrow.
  5. Couldn't give a fuck to be honest. I'm sure they wouldn't employ people who were so obviously bad at their job, some lad on the internet picked up on it. The team we put out, will be the team we put out. I reckon they'll be OK. Neither have I. Haven't slept properly since my boys were born. Genuinely hope you do sleep well mate. Light sleeping is a fucking nightmare.
  6. I imagine you can both sleep soundly now you've posted that. Que sera sera and all that.
  7. I reckon any of the young lads who do play will realise the situation we are in and play out of their skins. Whether that will be enough, I don't know, but I'm not as worried as some. One or more will definitely make a name for themselves tomorrow. And fuck Chelsea.
  8. They'll be 1-0 up before 10 minutes. Bournemouth get routinely twatted by Man City every season.
  9. I think Brighton are more than just competent. They replaced Potter with de Zerbi with no change to their playing style. They've also lost 3-4 of their best players and simply slotted replacements into the team with minimal drop off. I agree with you on the spending though. Recent years have seen a US style obsession in this country with ostentatious displays of wealth, driven by mindless tv shows and vacuous celebrity 'news'. It's shit, and I'm not sure it'll change.
  10. If it did, it would turn the prem into La Liga - with us and Man Utd in place of Real Madrid and Barcelona. If people are quite prepared to allow nation states to pump unlimited funds into clubs, then they can't really argue when we earn billions from our own TV deal. Although, if it happened, you would imagine that Man City would also somehow manage to find 500m subscribers from the middle East.
  11. Ha ha, can you imagine Sky's response to this? It would make the furore about the Super League seem like a 30 second segment on a local news report.
  12. I find this Ireland team incredibly tedious to watch. They win an inordinate amount of penalties for technical infringements and build from there. I appreciate that there's an art to playing this way (and I caveat this by saying I only have a passing interest in rugby union), but to me, it just makes for a shit spectacle to anyone other than rugby purists, or the Irish.
  13. Brighton are a club that should be disproving this. They are now a very well run, established upper mid table club. They could and should now be investing in expansion of their stadium to take advantage of the fact that there are no other top flight teams for miles around, in a city with a population of 300,000 people. You don't necessarily need to be winning things at this stage, just play a brand of football that people want to pay to see. Slowly build from there.
  14. It reminds me of the outrage about the European Super League. People were led to believe that clubs wanted to leave the Prem, rather than form a midweek competition to rival the Champions league. I dont recall this misconception ever really being challenged or corrected in the media at the time either.
  15. I'm genuinely starting to believe it's only us who are arsed about this. For supporters of the vast majority of clubs, what City get up to is fuck all to do with them anyway. And the fifa generation dont care if the league becomes a pissing contest between state owners as long as they see £100m signings every season. At the other end, I've not heard too much outrage from the supporters of Leicester or Leeds either, even though Everton stayed up at their expense - or at least, their voices have not been given enough airtime. It's all pretty soul destroying.
  16. If true, it will set a convenient precedent for any other club facing charges to escape without sanction.
  17. I agree with every single word of that but you have got no fucking chance. You might have had if the party which was predominantly funded by its members was elected five years ago, but alot of effort has been put into keeping the cosy set up we have now.
  18. Whatever happened to them being found in contempt of Parliament a couple of years ago...?
  19. On the big pitch at Wembley, I don't know - I just think it's set up for Bradley to have a performance we'll talk about for years.
  20. Like most of their imaginary enemies, do these people actually exist?
  21. I feel like that about most tracks from Definitely Maybe. The energy and swagger of that album was the soundtrack of my early twenties.
