He's better than nobody so I'd get him, because that seems to be the choice these days.
I remember (about 300 pages back) when people were talking about whether we needed him in addition to Keita and Van Dijk. Moreno was off and there was no sign of Coutinho wanting to leave.
* sighs *
Great draw. I can't help remembering thinking the same thing last time around with Rodgers but Klopp should have more european nous. Thanks Clarence for the updates.
I'd love him to come here and I think he'd get plenty of games. I cannot understand why we have a squad with 4 back-up centre forwards (Origi, Sturridge, Solanke and Ings) and no quality replacements for Salah and Mane.
I had a look at Watford's pre-season results before this match in an effort to convince myself we would win. In their last three friendlies, they played Real Sociedad, Aston Villa and Glasgow Rangers. Over the three games, they managed to score one goal.
I'd like to avoid Nice. Balotelli destroying Klavan after a slight knock to Matip/Lovren is inevitable and depressing.
If we don't go through I'm pretty sure Coutinho will be off and it'll be the least we deserve.
This. And that Michael Edwards gimp pays the difference out of his own pocket. Win x 4.
Edit. Didn't quote for some reason but I was referring to CD's post about Chelsea bidding 50m and us paying 60m.
I don't see why Klopp would improve his injury record and every time I've seen him play in central midfield he's looked clueless, so I hope we get someone else.
I'm not sure what's more surprising, that someone's actually bid £11m for him or that we've rejected the bid. I'd have bitten your hand off for half that.
So after 6 weeks of "negotiating" it looks like we will end up paying pretty much what everybody thought he was worth in the first place. Still, I have to say I'm happy as he looks like being exactly what we need.
We won't pay 35 million for Salah but we're prepared to pay 40 Million for Oxlade-Chamberlain, it's unbelievable.
Ardja, you are Michael Edwards and I claim my 5 pounds.
Well for what it's worth, on Paddy Power Liverpool have gone from 5-4 to 1-7 on and Man City have gone from evens to 4-1.
Really not sure how I feel about this one. Definitely a very good defender but a huge price to be paying if the numbers being quoted are true.
I reckon that we'll make top four if Arsenal drop points here. However, I'm convinced Southampton are going to roll over and pull their pants down. I've put 50 quid on Arsenal to try to jinx it though.
