Why should a player who has signed a deal for a certain amount of money for a certain period of time suddenly accept earning less over that same period? Nobody in their right mind would do that out of some kind of misguided loyalty to a company that generates millions of pounds a year, just top allow that company employ a new, jazzier version of said employee.

Far from the worst out there tonight. Of the 11 that started, the only ones I'd get rid of in the summer are Poulsen, Spearing and possibly Soto as long as we get a cd who's dominant in the air. Kuyt, Skrtel and Cole should start most of next season on the bench. Five of those players are first teamers so it was never likely to be a rout never mind a top performance.
