  1. classic Commentator: Would the ball have gone in without the deflection? Andy Townsend: no, I think it would have hit some of the bodies along the way.
  2. i think if Gerrard wanted to go somewhere like City in the summer, and they wanted him, it'd be the fairest thing all round.
  3. My worry is that Chelsea and Arsenal will not have another season like they both had this one, where 4th for us was a very real possibility with a run of good games. It may indeed be a season of transition but for an outlay of close to £100m over 12 months, the team has been pretty poor. The lack of heart, and at times, effort is the most worrying thing because you'd think that would be the one thing players playing under Kenny would have...
  4. Arsenal have been so unbelievably terrible...if we lose or draw this game I don't think we deserve 4th place.
  5. Even if Spearing remained here as a squad player for the rest of his career, it would advantageous for both parties for him to get a full year of playing in the Prem under his belt, development wise
  6. They must have one eye on the FFP rules surely I can't see why they wouldn't have shipped out Tevez for a loss otherwise. He's a great player but such a disruptive influence with his constant bitchin and moaning
  7. Even if we suddenly had unlimited funds and means and could buy anyone we fancied, i'd still think it wasn't a great idea to introduce too many into the first team. A bit of continuity from last year would be good. Some people's line-ups have five or six new players in them, which seems like madness to me. For that reason Kuyt, Lucas, Johnson, Skrtel, Carragher, Suarez and Gerrard should all be in the line-up when fit...to start with at least...
  8. I think we'll get Downing and a left back and that will be that for the summer. And another cheap/young striker if we sell Ngog. Hopefully Cole, CP, Jones, Jovanovic and Konchesky will go. Maybe one of Aqualani/Miereles. We might hang fire on a centre back. That would be great business for me...
  9. Why should a player who has signed a deal for a certain amount of money for a certain period of time suddenly accept earning less over that same period? Nobody in their right mind would do that out of some kind of misguided loyalty to a company that generates millions of pounds a year, just top allow that company employ a new, jazzier version of said employee.
  10. Can anyone state whether or not he had a decent season in Italy? ...I've heard conflicting reports but never saw any matches. naturally, it's difficult to draw conclusions but the fact that Juve don;t want him but allegedly want Raul doesn't bode well. I do think it's either/or for us and if he can't be shifted then unfortunately I can see why getting rid of Raul is the only other option.
  11. I'm incredibly excited...almost unbearably so...by the thought of Kuyt and Carroll starting upfront together... Although having not witnessed this so far, and there being no guarantee I ever will, I'll stop
  12. I'm gonna wait a few months to make that judgement. But if he was £16m I don't see why so many people insist on quoting £20m. That's quite a big difference for me. Unless it really was £20m in which case, fine.
  13. did Henderson cost £20m or £16m?
  14. If Newcastle want Ngog they shouldn't be allowed to pay a penny less than £8mil. Anyone else can have him for £4m. And give us Enrique for £2m... then balance will have been restored
