  2. Chelsea have matched Liverpool's bid for England star Glen Johnson. Portsmouth accepted a £17.5million bid from Liverpool earlier this week and the 24-year-old looked set to seal a move to Anfield. However, Pompey chief Peter Storrie has confirmed the club have also now agreed terms with Chelsea - Johnson's former club. The in-demand full-back now has a decision to make, with both sides keen to tie up a deal this week. "The matter will come to a conclusion at the beginning of next week. I do not have a preference over the move, it is up to Glen," Storrie said. "The deals are almost identical so it really is down to him and what club he prefers, which one is going to pay him more money. "Glen wants to play regularly in the Champions League, he has got himself back in the England side so I understand that. Sometimes you have to be fair to players." Storrie admits that Johnson needs to be playing Champions League football next season in order to secure his place in Fabio Capello's starting XI - with the World Cup finals now less than 12 months away. "It's a big year for him with the World Cup coming up," he continued. "Playing Champions League football will make him an even better player than he is today."

  6. Well worked out. What was meant by that is according to the newspaper, if he were to leave Bayern it would only be to Real Madrid, No-one else. But that was before United got an 80m treasure chest. Might be a different story now.
  7. According to L'équipe, the French National Sports newspaper, Ribéry will only go to Real if he leaves Bayern.

  10. I've Just been having a look at the summer transfer specials and according to Skybet Christiano Ronaldo is 25-1 to be at liverpool next season whereas Kenwyne Jones is 28-1. Obviously were (almost defiantely) not getting either of these players i just thought it was funny that the bookies were offering a better price for Pretty Boy than Jones. If the Betting is anything to go by, We aint getting Tevez or Villa this summer, although we are 5-2 favourites for Tuncay. Transfer Specials | Football Betting | Sky Bet Alonso is 1-2 on to be still at liverpool too, and theyre offering 6-4 for him to go to any other club.

  12. Jens Lehman Graeme Le saux Rio Ferdinand Martin Keown Cashley cole Ronaldo Joey Barton Michael Brown Diouf Adebayor Ronaldinho Subs Robbie Savage Roy Keane Fabregas Lee Bowyer

  14. Agreed. Although i do reckon CR is a better finisher (swerver?) of a ball.
  15. He's the Best player in the World against the average teams. I cant remember the last time (if ever) he has took the piss against Liverpool like he has against the weaker teams. Even Some of the European teams in the CL back off him and give him the space to run riot but if you think about it he's never THAT good against the likes of us and Chelsea. IMO Gerrard and Messi are better. I do think hes the best bellend in the world though.
  16. if my aunty jane had an 8 inch Black dong she'd be my uncle Jemal
  17. Hope so, would be good to see him get a run out last 20 mins or something...maybe come on for Stevie when were 3-0 up and Newcastle are all but Relegated :D
  18. I think it's a bit of both to be honest. He's been out on loan to 4 clubs in 3 seasons and hasnt completed a full season for any of those clubs. He's had a big impact at each club but not big enough to warrant a recall to the liverpool squad/team. (the biggest impact at Dunfermline id say, he was a (rightly so) hero up there and by far their best player, even at 19) I think he'd be good to have next season if Babel doesnt get his act sorted, but im not sure if Benitez has got plans for him at this moment in time. Think we might have another Guthrie situation personally EDIT:With regards to his facebook/myspace profile... That was a load of nonsense. He doesnt even have either of those sites, it was just sad people immitating him.
  19. Looks like another youngster is going to be offloaded this summer... Sky Sports | Football | Transfer Centre | Speculation | Hammill attracting interest A plethora of clubs are tracking Barnsley's on-loan winger Adam Hammill, skysports.com understands. Hammill, who is on loan at Barnsley from Liverpool, has impressed at Oakwell since his arrival in January. The skilful attacker has been a shining light for Barnsley as they fight to avoid relegation and he has been earning rave reviews in South Yorkshire. Hammill's form has alerted the England Under 21 coaching staff, with the player a possible contender for a call-up for this summer's European Championship in Sweden. Hammill's long-term future at Liverpool is uncertain with Reds boss Rafa Benitez expected to bring in new faces in the summer to further increase competition for places at Anfield. The 21-year-old is highly-regarded at Liverpool, but he could be tempted to move on in search of regular first-team football if the right club comes along. A number of sides are thought to be monitoring Hammill's situation with representatives from Bolton, West Brom and Wolves all believed to have cast an eye over the player in recent weeks.
