  1. There is too much football and the match going fans and players are the last to be considered when it comes to scheduling, but we’ve known this for years. Think back to 1989 and the ridiculous number of league games we were made to play in such a short time to complete that season following Hillsborough. I think it’s true that this is only an issue today because Hungary had a result last night that made the Blazers sit up at FA HQ, there is/was no consideration for us or City on the final run in and it was definitely a factor in our second half performance against Madrid in the final. I’d even go as far as to say Ancellotti deliberately played us the way he did, fully expecting us to lose sharpness as the game went on. It will continue until someone makes a stand, be it a club or clubs or the players themselves through the PFA.
  2. Hungary, 4 shots, 3 goals. 75% conversion rate. Wish we had that, the league, Champions League , and both domestic cups would be won at a canter every season. PS Make that 5 shots, 4 goals, 80% conversion rate. Add the World Cup to those trophies.
  3. Officials as incompetent as England. Hungary can’t believe their luck, the cheating diving cunts. The beauty of it is there’s not a Liverpool player in sight, so the knuckle draggers will have to start blaming someone else.
  4. Journeymen Hungary team keeping the Superstars of the English game at arms length, and quite comfortably too. T’was the same with the u/21’s against Slovenia last night. Both opposition teams just seem to want it more. Too much football for our boys?
  5. Suarez, when he played football in a red shirt, was a fabulous player. He had pretty much every skill the modern day footballer can possess, good and bad, all used to further his and Liverpool’s aims. Out of a red shirt he becomes an unsavoury character who can play football a bit. Such is the life of a footballer, and the views of many fans towards them.
  6. Suppose, hypothetically of course, if any of their players, (no names no pack drill) who have left get done for being (ahem) child botherers (for instance), then, technically, they won’t be Everton players when they’re banged up? Thus maintaining their high and mighty status.
  7. Not the best analogy, but you get the drift.
  8. I fully expect the FA and Premier League to say they won’t comment until the result of the “independent” inquiry from UEFA is known.
  9. The players have every day to practise shooting as well as all the finer tactical points. If you’re a professional footballer, you should be able to at least make the keeper work when presented with a chance as reasonable as that Keita had the other night. Any professional footballer should. They are paid mega bucks to be footballers, shooting should be a basic skill they get right most, if not every, time, it’s like saying an electrician might not connect a switch up right every time.
  10. Once again, everything covered concisely, as we’ve come to expect, the shitshow outside the stadium probably deserves a thread of its own but having heard the bullshit coming from France, I doubt we’ll get anything remotely like a balanced investigation this side of 2050. Fair comment about us needing to be more clinical, I was criticised for suggesting we had three world class forwards, but no world class striker, a while ago not least from my lad who thought I was talking crap, but my point wasn’t the goals we scored but the ones we miss. To be fair we were blowing teams away with three and four goal bursts then, but that has died away recently, anyway, as you said Dave, I expect Klopp will have something up his sleeve and so I’ll look forwards to the team, and you Dave, going again when the season starts. Thanks for the insights and comment this last season. Have a good summer!
  11. Simple question to the French, “How did ticketless fans or fans with fraudulent tickets get that close to the stadium to be able to cause so much mayhem?”
  12. Hillsborough started with lies and a cover up that lasted over 30 years and still the perpetrators got away with it. Now I’m not trying in any way to align this with the tragedy at Hillsborough, but do any of you think, now that the French and UEFA have started with a lie, they’re going to retract and say sorry? Not a fucking chance.
  13. I didn’t travel in the end and it’s a sad thing to say I’m glad in retrospect. Some will have been attending their first euro final and regardless of the result, that should have been an experience to remember for all the good reasons. Plainly for many it wasn’t. I don’t expect UEFA or the French authorities will give a flying fuck about that though, heads will be buried in the sand and the sound of “La-La-La” will be heard until we go away. Or their “ independent” report if it ever comes will apportion blame to the fans as much as the perpetrators.
  14. I said if we play as we can, we win. Although we had a good first half and pretty much even second half possession wise, we didn't play as we can and we lost. There didn't seem to be the snap to our play from a couple of seasons ago, the passing wasn't as crisp or accurate as we've known. Now that might be because of accumulated tiredness, it might be because of the players just getting older and coming just off the peak of 2019, or a combination of both, plus their keeper has all the luck and not our forwards. Regardless, once we got to half time and hadn't scored I was worried that they would probably nick one because they're good enough and, sadly, that proved to be the case and in the manner many would've feared it, with Vinicius Jnr finding himself pretty much unmarked at the far post converting a cross/shot (whichever doesn't matter). That we had 20+ shots and 9 on target and still didn't score is something we should be looking at, because against most teams, we'd have scored 2 or 3 as they wouldn't have been technically or tactically as astute as Madrid, and specifically Ancellotti, were last night. Its too early to really pick the bones over the season just gone at the moment, but I think most of us believe we need changes, as the flying machine we've seen over recent seasons has become a little stunted towards the end of the season and as has been mentioned by many, not beating the three teams up with us in the league and not scoring in three finals is cause for concern. I've no doubt Jurgen and the staff will have been working on it already and we'll see in the coming weeks exactly what changes, if any, are made. Its been a disappointing end to a great season and we shouldn't let the efforts of the team go unheralded, they've done us proud in the main and I for one am grateful for their achievements.
  15. Club should be nailing this lying shit from UEFA right now. Fuck this narrative it’s our fault, all the media cunts who have been r3porting this is all bollocks should be informing their papers to run with it tomorrow, it’s about time they called the cunts out.
  16. Never too early for anything you fancy on European Cup Final day*. *Unless it involves sex, minors, animals or a combination of all three, they’re a definite no.
  17. Don’t forget, Terry also had Makelele in front of him, one of the best DM’s to play in the Premier League and sure he was a tough uncompromising centre back, but I don’t think he was ever as good as he was in his own mind, and the slip on his arse taking that penalty in Moscow just about put the icing on the cake for me.
  18. Regarding Vidic, one word……..Torres. Regarding Ferdinand, one song…….”Without killing anyone….“. Cunt.
  19. The truest thing said in that whole video was how underrated Hyypia was. Never gets plaudits from anywhere Sami, but he was a fabulous centre back. The thing that should be remembered about Terry is that he had Carvalho sweeping up all the mistakes he made, another player who was underrated.
