  1. Social Services - anonymously. If the kid is of school age it's possible they might have other information on him anyway. Avoid confrontation at all costs. As nice as the thought of extreme violence might be it won't solve anything and could land you with a prison sentence or a bunch of drugged up chavs beating shit out of YOU.
  2. I haven't been in there for some time. I really must get out more....
  3. 19 eh? Welcome to the world of work. Mostly shit unless you do something you like. Look elsewhere but don't be surprised if you find it's just the same. Good luck.
  4. Dunno if I'd stretch it that far (although they probably could)
  5. Fucking unreal.... . Give it a while, it warms up Moving like that... the mind boggles :wow:
  6. August is unfortunately high season so it's the most expensive. I'd suggest trying Cottages 4you and you get the ferry dirt cheap as part of the deal. I'd recommend the Petite Suisse area in Normandy (just to the SW of Caen). Only about 4 hours from Calais and it's great scenery, not too many Brits and a very pleasant place indeed.
  7. Cool videos for your mum to choose. Respect! My mum died a few years ago. Music wasn't really part of her world and the only time she heard me play (at my wedding) she said it was too loud. Love you Mum :)
  8. Try these D can be played using the A shape on the 5th fret. BTW there's a C#minor that you can play in open position. string / position 1 / open 2 / 2nd fret 3 / 1st fret 4 / 2nd fret 5 / open 6 / open I don't know the song and I can't find it either..
  9. I liked Kieron, he always reminded of an extra from Eastenders and I never did work out why his daughter had a scouse accent you cut with a knife. It's not the greatest pub in the world but it's nearby and good for the footie. I was going to say "I was in the Dyke last week" and then thought better of it. I was in the Tavern last week and watched a guy rack up 25,000 in one go at bar billiards. He played red and white down the 50s over and over an over and over again. If he missed one of the holes he'd then put the left over ball down the 100. Clever stuff but boring as shit.
  10. Blimey, talk about hijacking a thread :-) Come in the Brighton mafia .... Hand in Hand is a wonderful pub. On the other side of town to me but I get in there now and again. I used to get in the BoT quite a bit but haven't been there for about a year. Mostly drink in the Good Companions or the Dyke Tavern as they're nearby and the Dyke is doing good bands on a Saturday now (there's an Ian Dury tribute band there on April 25th who are amazing). There's always the Prestonville, solid dependable, good food and a decent outside area. I used to be a regular in The Greys when I lived in Hanover. Some ace pubs around there, pity about the parking!
  11. Thanks, but working from home or London I don't actually have any workmates in Brighton who I can cajole into a trip and my regular drinking partners tend to favour lager :wow: Ah well, I'll just content myself with a visit to the shop and get me plastic wotsit re-filled.
  12. Good choice. The Nelson eh? One of my favourite pubs along with the BoT.
  13. Ah, King and Barnes. A name from the past. I must admit to not knowing about King's. Perhaps they don't export it to Brighton or I've never looked.... Enjoy the brewery trip. Funny that, despite living in Brighton for so long I've never done a Harveys trip. Something for the summer maybe?
  14. Apologies if you already know this but apparently on the Monday at training all the players were being weighed as normal and they found Torres was 13 stone overweight. After a bit of investigation they found Vidic in his pocket. I'll get me coat....
  15. Not a great fan of very dark beers. Fine for a contemplative pint but too sweet and heavy for a session. Harvey's do brew excellent beer as you so rightly point out and as they are only 10 miles away I ought to throw in a vote for their Sussex Best Bitter (an excellent session beer).
  16. Put away your anodyne lagers. There is only one beer worthy of the name. Bow down and worship at the altar of true sophistication and taste ;)
  17. You're not wrong! Awesome indeed. And while we're on the subject of "quirky" bands then Come on Feel The Illinoise by Sufjan Stevens is a classic and includes the near perfect song (imo!) Chicago (performed live here - )
  18. If you're feeling folky.... The Decemberists O Valencia - The Decemberists Best band I've heard for a very long time I'd recommend searching out their stuff. Weird lyrics, brilliant musicianship and a wicked sense of humour.
  19. And on your walk between the Tate and Tower Bridge call in to The Clink Prison Museum and then buy overpriced organic shite from Borough Market and have a pint in The Globe
  20. Don't worry about Fulham. Danny'll see us alright ;)
  21. The way the mancs are playing at the moment and the way Arsenal are capable of playing I wouldn't write Arsenal off just yet. United's defence are great in the air but get worried when players run at them with speed and Arsenal have just the players to do that. Don't believe it's the Chavs again though ....................
  22. For 2 years you're doing pretty well on guitar. Your voice really suits the song and reminds me a little of the guy in Lambchop (which in my view is no bad thing). Recording could be better but that's a minor nit. 23. An interesting idea for a thread. Here's one of my favourites and to be read at my funeral The Lake Isle of Innisfree - William Butler Yeats I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree, And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made: Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee; And live alone in the bee-loud glade. And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings; There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow, And evening full of the linnet's wings. I will arise and go now, for always night and day I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore; While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey, I hear it in the deep heart's core.
