  5. That's correct. The proposal was on the agenda last year but was never approved by UEFA. Still a possibility for smaller teams to reach Europe.
  6. In Europa League: Man City (FA Cup winner), Birmingham (Carling Cup winner), 6th place in Premier League.
  7. Just if the FA Cup winner already has qualified for the CHAMPIONS LEAGE, not if the winner has qualified for Europa League.

  9. Strange statements. Nearly the same about Mascherano and Pellegrini. Could it be a mix up in the press? Piccioli about a possible move for Mascherano to Inter: We are evaluating the move hard and in the next few days we will have a new meeting to better establish the details of this transfer deal." 10. Why don't UEFA cancel both legs and put on a one-off game on neutral ground in France next week? Could do the same with Wolfsburg v Fulham tie.
  11. As far as I see the articles are more or less identical to what Chris Bascombe wrote last weekend.

  13. Telegraph Sport can disclose that the club’s financial results for the year to July 2008 will show a 50% increase in profit before tax and depreciation at £37m, up from £25m in 2006-07 and turnover of £159.1m, a club record. Liverpool Echo: The club’s annual accounts will reveal a pre-tax profit of £10.2m for the year to July 31, 2008, an improvement on the previous year’s loss of £21.7m. Seems to be some differences in the numbers used in these two articles.
  14. No bid for Lavezzi!! Pierpaolo Marino: Napoli Not Interested In Liverpool Bids For Lavezzi Napoli have responded to claims their star striker was heading for the exit door... 30 May 2009 09:33:53 Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino insists he has have never received an offer from Liverpool for Lavezzi, and he has no intention of selling the hitman. The Argentinean has been hotly tipped to make the move to the Premier League this summer and, according to reports, Liverpool are keen to land him. Lavezzi's agent Alejandro Mazzoni claimed his client could be leaving the San Paolo for Anfield, but Marino has other ideas, contrary to opinions which have been expressed so far. "I have never received offers from Liverpool, and we are not interested in receiving any," Marino told Il Corriere Dello Sport. "I know the rules of the game, and I will not fall into the trap of commenting on something which doesn't exist. "We have never thought about parting company with Lavezzi or [Marek] Hamsik." Reports suggested Liverpool had made a bid for Lavezzi, only to have it turned down, but Marino's words imply that the Italian side have not been tempted by the Reds. Lavezzi's Napoli future seems safe for now, but the speculation is likely to continue
  15. I don't expect any confirmation from the club before we get the line-up for the Madrid game. I'm sure Rafa wants to keep quiet about this as long as possible untill KO.

  17. From Emsdettener Volkszeitung: Marvin Pourie move to FC Schalke 04 Felix Guth and Heinz Overmann on 5 January 2009 19:10 clock Marvin Pourie move to FC Schalke 04. Three days before his 18th birthday the Werner football talent signed a contract for the next four and a half years. Nothing about transfer fee. But an article from November said Liverpool rated him to 2 mill. Euro. Crazy money.
  18. The lists are correct. You can have an unlimited number of players on the B list. But just 25 on the A list. You need 8 locally-trained players on the A list and at least 4 of those have to be club-trained players. Chelsea only have 22 players on the A list because they only have Terry as club-trained player. The three other spots have to be empty. The association-trained players for Chelsea are A.Cole, Bridge, Lampard, J. Cole. Just 17 players are left over for non locally-trained players.
  19. What's happened to the Hertha game on July 22nd?? On Liverpoolfc.tv earlier today but then removed.
  20. Nothing yet on skysports.com or bbc.co.uk on Alonso. Start to doubt Il Corriere dello Sport.
  21. Refs allow players to leave the field to receive treatment. When a player is behind the line the law says he is still on the line since he hasn't had permisson to leave the field.
