Have to agree to disagree on this one mate. I think he has good technical ability but I think he is vastly overrated. When does he ever take a game by the scruff of the neck? Last year he was shit and I think he has been poor when fit this year. I just fail to see what he does? People say he keeps the ball moving. There are lots of players like that. You need people to create or score goals in the attacking side of your team and alonso does neither.

I mean I accept he is one of them players who will get better with age due to the style of his game but in my opinion he isnt as good as Gary Mac was when he was here. How can he be holding this position down in the team and be classed as a creative midfielder who doesnt create or score goals? I think he is a good player but I dont think hes top drawer. Not in the same class as gerrard, fabregas, essien etc.

Hes got a good mentality but is he really that good? He doesnt score goals and he rarely sets them up. Is he that good defensively either? I think if he isnt a defensive player then he has to create and to be honest when does he do that. Id sell him for anything above 12 million I think. I watched the full game mate and whilst we werent as bad as we have been we werent particularly good. We started well but when we didnt score in the first 15-20 mins west ham took over. Be honest, did we deserve to win? I dont think so. Boa morte missed 2 fuckin sitters and whilst we were better again in the last half hour what did we create?

If we werent as good as the top sides but were improving I would think stick with it. What concerns me is we seem to be going downhill yet we have better player than we did! I know united and arsenal have improved but we signed torres and got masch yet were going downhill. That tells me both that our rivals are improving and also that something isnt right with the team. The players look very dejected and maybe the summer is the time to replace Rafa.

Said on couple of threads now the league is the yardstick by which you judge success. We are going backwards. We are 3 points ahead of 9th place - which is a fucking disgrace. It pisses me off so much this Gerrard bashing by some fans. Open your fuckin eyes will u and look at the shite playing alongside him. Last night everyone knows there are torres and gerrard who are capable of diggin us out the shit and winning the game from nothing for us. When was the last time Alonso won us a game of his own back?? In fact how many goals has that guy set up in the last 18 months? Yet I have never heard 1 critical comment in relation to him on here. Ive never heard so much shite. Gerrard is Liverpools best player bar none. He has been the main reason we have won trophies in the last 5 years. It amazes me how people come out and criticise him when you have over rated players like alonso and aurellio playing fuckin shite on a regular basis and nobody says fuck all about that However if gerrard isnt the best player on the pitch people say he has an attitude problem. I watched the game last night and he was a dam site better than pretty much every player on the pitch in a liverpool shirt.

I actually think Pennant is a decent player who could be very good. I also think he is a good crosser of the ball. My biggest criticism of him is that he goes missing and doesnt seem to get involved in some games. But I would like to see him given a run of games to see can he perform or not. I would rather play a wide player than someone who cuts in all the time. Chopping and changing players doesnt help anyone especially not the likes of Pennant.

According to the bbc Gary Mac is off to leeds to take over Wise. Its a shame the guy only played for us in the twilight of his career as he was fuckin made for Liverpool. Without staring the shit I think he contributed more in centre mid than Alonso does now - although hopefully that will change. I can really see Gary Mac working at Liverpool in some capacity in the future as you can clearly tell the time he spent at Liverpool meant everything to him. Every opportunity he gets he is speaking highly of Liverpool and to be honest he speaks a lot of sense. Hopefully the job at Leeds will work out and one day we might see him in working for Liverpool.

Finnan has been one of our best players for years and im sure if picked every week would regain his form. He has had niggly injuries and also been left out at times remember. Id have said a year ago finnan was the best right back in the prem and I dont think all of a sudden that changed too much he just needs to be picked and regain his form. Before a right back I would be looking for a striker, a right and left winger and a left back before I spent big on a right back. I know alves plays at right back but i think if we had signed him he would have probably played right wing.

I dont think Riise is as bad as people are making out. He has played in one of the strongest defences in england for years and I think at the moment he is a bit of a scapegoat. I dont think he is a great player but I dont think hes poor either. Our lack of a quality winger is having a lot bigger impact on us not challenging for the tital then playing jon arne riise is - in my opinion. The lads loves Liverpool and doesnt want to leave and overall I dont think has been a bad player for us if you take his Liverpool career in total. Its a shame everyone is targeting him now as a really shit player because hes havin a bad time of it.

Its not so much that, but Are DIC going to take over? How long the yanks are going to be in charge? Is Benitez a gonna? Have we got money for new players in the summer? Is Gillete already trying to sell his share? And loads of other shit. To be honest we can all speculate but as I said - I dont know what the fuck to think. I agree with some of what your saying mate but I dont think new coaches are going to be the difference between where we are now and challenging for the league. New players NEED to be bought or at least 1 top player for out wide and we may need to spend big for that position. I also think we probably need someone t play with torres or if bbel is that man then make it 2 wingers. I dont think until we address this we wil challenge for the league.

I think Im somewhere in the middle of this debate. I dont blame Rafa for todays team selection. Where does peoples frustration with that selection lie? Are we saying were so poor as a side we cant go without gerrard, carragher, reina and torres against a non league side. If you go through the team player for player - everyone has been saying babel should be given a chance (i admit i would like to see him through the centre) he was. Finnan played, masch played. People have been calling for crouch to start and he did. Same with pennant and skirtel. If you think Rafa has taken us as far as he can then that is a decent debate. But blaming him for every poor performance of every player is just fuckin stupid. I admit I am dissapointed in our progress in the league since he took over and I wouldnt argue if he wins nothing and scrapes 4th if he goes in the summer IF a top notch replacement is brought in. But there seem to be too many people who either go over the top saying he cant do fuck all wrong or on the flip side are blaming him for everything.

I just thought it was worth mentioning since when was Voranin nicknamed "THE CROW". I was just readin about his injury on the setanta sports website and they referred to him as the Crow. Fuckin hilarious. The only similarity I can see would be if dirk kuyt shoots him with a gun that is supposed to be empty.
