  1. I was at Steel Park again and watched the game. Despite the terrible weather there was a real buzz around the place that these two were in town but they were both well off the pace in the 45mins they played and Liverpool actually played better in the second half after they were withdrawn. This was a very disappointing result and performance (Corby Town drew with this Porto side the day before) which allowed PSV to take the title/Cup.
  2. I was there, right behind the goal and Dunn's goals were class, especially the second. Liverpool are playing Porto at four pm today and the Corby Town and LFC u21s Twitter accounts have both 'confirmed' that Couthino and Emre Can will be involved!
  3. Rogers was magnificent. We really struck the jackpot there, he could go on to be Shanklyesque. I'm watching the coverage now and I must give props to Martinez also. He is a classy individual and, had events worked out differently, I believe he could have been a trusted custodian of LFC, albeit without reaching the heights of Brendan Rogers I doubt. JFT 96 YNWA
  4. Top top class Fanchester City. Well said that man.
  5. Shit football song suggestion to the tune of blur's Tracy Jacks: Every day it got closer He knew in his heart the wait was over He loves to come here and play football And he's just so fucking awesome! STEVIE G OOH OOH OOH OOH Possibly needs a bit of work..!
  6. I won't be cheering but I certainly want them to take points off city. If they somehow manage to beat them then 8 wins for us makes up Champs. It's still very far fetched I know but I for one am allowing myself to get carried away!
  7. a genuine twist of fate is the eventual demise of Ferguson coupled with Liverpool's (long overdue but finally genuine?) resurgence, albeit we've not actually won anything yet. vis a vie back on our perch etc. as you were.
  8. Stevie's pen reminded me of the Gary Mac free kick. It could be a massive moment in our season/future and I've a funny feeling it was!
  9. There's a decent article by David Conn in the Guardian about Man U's predicament and this bit is strangely prophetic about the way we're headed at the moment.." the Glazers look to have been a little over-focused on the eager accumulation of club sponsors helmed by the new chief executive Ed Woodward in the London office near the Ritz, rather than the defence, midfield and attack requirements in Manchester 16".
  10. http://www.theguardian.com/football/stats-bomb/2014/jan/22/liverpool-steven-gerrard-buy-transfer-market Really interesting and in depth analysis of the DM options out there...
  11. What's all this "ghost goal" shite he's coming out with today? I know he's trying to pay the fans a compliment but bringing that up won't do him any favours.
  12. The mirror (yeah, I know) are reporting there was a 25 percent sell on clause put into the original deal to bring Andy here. As ridiculous as that sounds, I don't think any of us would put it past our hierachy to pull off such a dumb ass move. If true I would immediately rehire Comolli and sack him again on the spot.
