  1. Would like to sign him as defo better than anything we have on the right. But being honest dont think he's a rafa type player - prob not intelligent enough in his overall game. Hes similar to babel in that hes quick, direct and a genuine threat. but as seen by the chances babel has had this season I couldnt see us going for him and if we did would he get a genuine run of games?
  2. Have to say the way Torres conducts himself in interviews etc is fantastic. Never once have I seen him be anything but Loyal to liverpool. You can tell the journalists are dying on many occasions for him to say he'd consider leaving but he just fucks them off. Fingers crossed we can get 1 attacking player of his sort of standard to complement him and gerrard next season and keep the 3 of them fit. Then it would be interesting.
  3. I would be surprised if Silva ended up in england as im sure I read something a while ago where he stated he had no intention playing over here - may have been when united came in for him. As for Villa I can just see the fee being fuckin ludicrous as I would be surpised if chelsea or/and man city along with madrid came in for him. Would be nice though to have 2 top class strikers
  4. No chance would I want stephen ireland. If was gonna go for any of their players now would go for sturridge or richards
  5. I actually think his "us against the world" attitude is a Liverpool attitude but I accept you dont like the guy and dont want him as manager and I cannot see myself changing your mind! ha I also think he would much rather come to Liverpool than United due to him following the club growing up and the obvious challenge it would bring. It would also no doubt appeal to his his ego to prove he could be the man to bring the title for Liverpool. As you rightly say there is no guarantee that he or any other manager would win it but as much as it hurts me to say it I think anyone who thinks we have actually been in a title race this season or any of Benitez's other 4 is deluding themselfs. As soon as the first sign of pressure has come on in December we have began dropping ludicrous points and our form since cant be far off the relegation zone standard. or at best the bottom half of the league. What hurts me the most is that for generations players, fans and managers have fought for and prided ourselves on being the most successful club in this country and in the season when them manc fuckers can equal that we have shown the white flag and basically rolled over at the first sign of pressure. We are not talking a title challenge here!! lets not fuckin kid ourselves. Its not april, may its the beginning of march an its over barring a fucking mirracle. Rafa has done a good job at Liverpool - he has put us back on the map no doubt about it. In europe we can hold our own against anybody but domestically we came closer to winning the league under Roy Evans.
  6. Well thats your opinion but have you heard youself? "If you want mouriniho as manager you do not respect anything about the club." How dismissive is that? If you genuinely think that any Liverpool fan who would have mouriniho as manager has no respect for the club then I think you are talking shit. But maybe our difference of opinion is based on you believing Mourinho to be a much bigger villian than I think he is. Im not gonna turn this into a rafa against Mouriniho battle as Rafa is the manager of our club an we all want him to succeed but you cannot say the goings on over recent times by our current maanger included have been in the traditions of the club. You fuckin hate Mouriniho for whatever reason so if and when Rafa goes Il be interested as to who you want to replace him. I just hope United dont take Mouriniho and go on to dominate for the next 10 as they have the last.
  7. When have I said I wanted to get rid of riera now? But if his perfomances continue as they have been for the last couple of months then do you think he is going to be our long term option? (he started well but i dont think he has been fantastic) Do you genuinely believe also that Keane was given a fair crack of the whip? He wasnt helped by torres being in and out but how many times did they play together up front? As for the point about benitez I make no secret of the fact I would take mouriniho in the summer. I wouldnt fuck rafa off for anybody at all and I can see the argument for keeping him. But we are not going to win the league this season (barring a fuckin mirracle) so unless we win the european cup we will have won nothing for 3 seasons. That is not acceptable at Liverpool I wouldnt have thought. Maybe Rafa is a victim of United looking like equalling our league title collection - I wouldnt dispute that and I accept it his not his fault but this year for one reason or another we had a genuine opportunity to do it and I believe our cautious manner of playing has been a major reason why we are not still in with a shout.
  8. I think people are using what he said regarding the ambulance staff as an explanation for him not to manage the club. When really, everbody makes mistakes including our players and past players an It wouldnt stop us from supporting them or wanting them at the club therfore highlighting the below point. People dont like him because he is outspoken, cocky and won the league with a prem rival and if they dont want him to maange the club then that is their opinion but at least lets be honest about it.
  9. How many times did Keane and torres play 70-75 minutes together as forwards during the time Keane was at the club? I would be interested to know. I think what you say about the timing in relation to the sale is probably right but we are weaker as a team as a result going into the second half of the season. Why not sell dossena aswell then? Surely an italian club would have paid similar to what we paid and he had no better a start than Keane and we are more covered at left back. You also say riera settled in better. he started ok but am I the only one thinking he is not going to make the grade at Liverpool either? He has been poor for months now. An I also agree with you regarding a run of games. If we are going to give someone a chance play them consecutively for a run of games. If they are consistently not good enough after a few runs of games then get rid. Rather than our current system of players coming in for odd games here or there and being left out when in good form therefore having a negative impact on their confidence. Aurellio was playing well and then left out recently, same for benayoun. 2 of our better players recently in my opinion. Keane scored a couple of goals in a week at anfield an then was left out for kuyt against newcastle. An please dont give that as a reason why we beat them.
  10. I would agree but at least on sat he had a go, went past people for his 1 - 2 where he went clean through and to be quite honest I dont think in any context is dirk kuyt good enough either so I would consider giving him another go tonight. Would rather see a young lad given a go who is willing and able to beat a man when playing out wide. Fingers crossed anderson or hammil will kick on.
  11. In Brian Reades book when he comes out with that shit about wanting us to get beat during theat period it is one of the few points in the book that I really couldnt relate to. Maybe its for the greater good or something he was thinkin but I could not imagine watchin Liverpool play and willing on the other team to score.
  12. Id play reina darby carra skrtel aurellio el zhar alonso gerrard riera With yossi off babel I think. Think el zhar maybe deserves another go as I thought he didnt do too bad sat first half but his confidence went after the misses. Think yossi has been quite creative recently and being honest I just dont rate Kuyt at all. Not gonna dispute he scores some important goals works hard ... But I really dont think he is good enough.
  13. So taking the moral higher ground if gerrard gets convicted in court should he not play for Liverpool?
  14. Im not gonna say I agree with his comments because I dont. They were out of order. But I dont think them comments should be the reason Mouriniho doesnt manage Liverpool, do you?
  15. Maybe they both should have played with gerrard in centre mid. I dont think Keane was ever given a fair crack of the whip at Liverpool. Gerrard has been trained as a centre mid from the age of 7 so I dont understand this new found theory by some that he cannot play centre mid. To start being a more attacking team we may have to consider using him back in the centre as at present alonso, masch and our wide players are just not contributing with enough goals in my opinion.
  16. Mate im sure everyone has made comments they regret and maybe he regrets the ambulance comments but in regard to the stuff with other managers thats constantly going on all over the league.
  17. Know what your saying mate but surely the same would apply to United? The difference being united attack with a lots of players. far too often our forwards are a million miles from our midfielders and full backs unless the shit as hit the fan and we have to score then we look much more dangerous. Am I the only one who is also sick of our centre mids taking the ball of a centre backs in our own half.
  18. He's obviously pissed a few people off whilst being chelsea manager especially when trying to get one over on his rival managers with mind games and biased comments but if you asked me would I rather we take him or united take him when ferguson retires then I would have thought that is pretty clear. Hes a winner, loved Liverpool (read his book if you think its bollocks) and im sure would love the challenge of being the man who won Liverpool their first title in whats gonna be 20 years. I always thought benitez would win the league with Liverpool after watching his valencia side and seeing the success he had with us on coming in and with limited quality players but I have to admit Im no longer convinced.
  19. Looks like with Parry going, the way is being paved for Benitez to sign the contract. However should he leave in my opinion it would be criminal not to go for Mouriniho in the summer. The guy has success wherever he goes, players wanna play for him/sign for him his man management skills appear second to none and he has managed and won trophies in the English league. I cant agree with anyone who would say there would be a better candidate for the job. Being honest though id be surprised now with Parry leaving if Benitez doesnt get a new contract. Just hope we dont finish 10 points off the league for the next couple of seasons and live to regret it.
  20. Its easy with hindsight to look at the formation but I have to be honest and say apart from carra at right back i was happy with the team selection prior to the game. I think possibly Benitiez's concern with gerrard playing behind torres in a 4231 formation last night prior to the game was he would have been man marked by at least 1 of their midfielders and then we are relying on others to provide the creativity which lets be honest is possibly our weakness at the top level when men get behind the ball. But obviously the flip side to that is the midfield was so congested last night with blue fucking tops they were winning every second ball and we didnt get the quality posession we have on recent meetings. I think benitez will switch keane for masch on sunday and go back to the usual formation with possible babel playing for riera and arbeloa coming in for hypia or skrtel. Ultimately what worries me the most is I think we looked incredibly nervous last night. Players like alonso who are usually so composed in possession where giving the ball away and I was just waiting fo skrtel or hypia to give away the ball with their nervy passing. Think carra will go back into centre back sunday and we will bring in that extra midfielder to give the man on the ball the extra passing option. Gutted we dropped points last night but expected us to draw one of the games an im just hoping we can knock them fuckers out the cup sunday and bring their shitty little season to a premature end.
  21. If we let him go for the rumoured fee then serious questions have to be asked. I appreciate man cty have unbalanced the transfer market but we should not be taking less than 12 million for agger and that is being generous. Rio ferdinand went for the best part of £30 million to utd and hes a similar style of player. There is no point gettin 6/7 million for agger then spunking it on 2 mediocre £3 million players. It would defo be a backwards step
  22. Its great beating everton but cant say I enjoy these games or look forward to them at all. Reasonable people who I know (I know im risking it saying that) who support everton turn into absolute horrible bastards who would wish injuries on ou best players and turn really bitter and twisted about every fuckin decision. I just dont think thers anythin pleasant about the whole occasion until the 90th minute comes and we've won the game. Will say though I think its the first year I can remember where everton fans are actually beginning to worry that we might ave a chance for the league. An we all know that everton fans know more about us than they do their own team.
  23. For me I dont know if Babel will make it at Liverpool but It would not surprise me if he is another one of them players who doesnt really get the chance they need. By that I am not criticising Rafa but Babel strikes me as a player who needs a run of games. Im not sure he will get that at Liverpool. He is one of them players who is hot and cold and when he is cold he is really bad and as his work rate doesnt match someone like Kuyt who even on a poor day provides more of a contribution Babel just gets dropped. I have to admit most of his significant contributions have been as a sub but I cant agree with someone saying he is shit. His decision making leaves a bit to be desired as does his touch but he is quick, direct and a handful for defenders when on his game. It would not surprise me if he was sold in the summer and he would join the likes of Steven Warnock as a player who maybe could have made it Liverpool but things didnt work out for one reason or another.
  24. Joe Kinnear fancies us. Il reserve judgement personnally as the dropped points at home concern me in comparison to unites who I dont see as dropping as many. Away from home when teams are under presssure to play we look great. Have to say though think the bolton home performace was the best we've played at anfield this season. Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear tipped Liverpool for the Barclays Premier League title after seeing his side torn apart at St James' Park on Sunday. The Reds recorded a 5-1 win in the north-east after goals from Steven Gerrard (2), Ryan Babel, Sami Hyypia and Xabi Alonso. "I think we have just seen the title winners," said Kinnear. "And I think we've seen the best performance from a single player for a long time in Gerrard, he was magnificent. "Without a shadow of a doubt they are the best team we've played this season. They were head and shoulders above us. They are an exceptionally good side. "It was such a one-sided game because they are a world-class team. You have to take your hat off to Liverpool. "Without Shay Given it would have been even worse. The only positive from the game is that he has proven he is the best goalkeeper in the league by a mile."
  25. Jay spearing is the one I would like to given a chance in the prem maybe even derby although I think he has more chance of maybe gettin a look in at liverpool. Not havin a bash at lucas but I would prefer to see spearing play before him at the minute but I cant see it so lets see if he can do a job in the prem? Guthrie has kicked on since signing for newcastle - just shows how young english players arent developing at the top clubs coz they're not been given a chance.
