Best news of the season so far...Lets hope Rafa puts a bid in for Joe Cole, Downing etc and throws Torres in as make weight. One of ours on the inside, Trojan horse time me thinks.The bridge will be a tumbling down come May and Rafa will be off with his considerable pension in his back pocket.

Not logged in for a while but this thread has prompted me. If we get rid of Meireles then it would signal we are not serious about our ambitions. he is a very clever technical player able to play of both feet, deft of touch and has a terry mac quality for getting forward on the blind side of defenses. He is exactly the sort of player we need to hang onto. Henderson will learn a lot from him too if he ever develops that sort of instinct. Gerrard replacement...no. Keep Raul he will prove more valuable in the long run..

compromise. Agree to sell for min 40 mill in the summer. we get his services until then. he/they get what they want. We ask for 50% down payment on deal etc.makes good business for us on a player that hasn't replicated his first season due to regular injuries and likely is going the same way as Owen on that front. cash in. We are not a one man club.

Not sure you would appreciate this suggestion but have you considered cremation out their? It would save a lot of trouble getting his remains back. You have my sympathy for your loss.
