Welcome to the new and improved TLW!

Some of you may experience issues logging in and will get an 'incorrect password' error. Don't worry, you haven't typed it in wrong and your password hasn't been changed. You will need to reset it though in order to log in. Click the reset password link and you will receive an email with your new temporary password. Once logged in, you need to choose a new password (or restore to your old one) otherwise you will be locked out again.

If you have an out of date email address linked to your account, then you won't receive the new password. If that's the case then you'll need to email me (dave @liverpoolway.co.uk) or send me a tweet @theliverpoolway and I'll update your password manually.

Any other problems or questions just let me know.

Thanks

Dave

    Irish history books

Yes, from what I recall he doesn´t have a lot of positive things to say about Adams on a personal level, but his telling of Adam´s role in bringing about the GFA doesn´t necessarily cast him in a terrible light: ruthless yes, but ultimately very pragmatic and calculated.

    Irish history books

Secret History of the IRA (Ed Maloney) is also a good read exploring the Troubles, and the negotiations before the negotiation of the GFA. Vivid Faces by Roy Foster is an excellent read exploring the "revolutionary" generation in the country between 1890 and 1923.

    Other Football - 2018/19 Season

Thought Klopp´s press conference comments were quite shrewd. Something along the lines of "...in my mind we will be 1pt ahead when we kick off against Leicester". Hopefully the city players will hear that. Would be great if Rafa could do us a favour, but no need to panic if not.

    *Shakes head* Everton again.

    Good point that.

    *Shakes head* Everton again.

To be fair, that´s a pretty decent end to the transfer window for the Blues. Mina will suit English football although he may well take time to adapt. Silva must be planning on a back 3 I guess

Hall of Fame - Class of 2018

I went with Tommy Smith (Bedrock of Shankly´s team and the fairytale ending in Rome). Phil Neal for being an ever present across the most glorious years. Keegan for being the star who powered us first to big ears and Fowler for the sake of my childhood years.

    Summer 2018 Transfer Thread

Not sure Jurgen would see him as his type of player but you never know. He played a few minutes at the last World Cup but since then, his career has stalled big time. Loaned around a bit in Europe without ripping up any trees and was then loaned back to his hometown club here in Colombia. Did well enough and then he went on loan to River. There have been question marks about his fitness and attitude at times, but he´s a lovely player to watch; bit of a throw back I guess. Porto were looking for 10 million usd I think about 6 months ago although they might be bumping that figure if his world cup form continues. Can´t have more than 1-2 years on his contract though.

Where are you watching the game?

I shall be in Chicago. Any recommendations on where to watch the game?

    Summer 2018 Transfer Thread

Not sure how many internationals he´s played so far, most likely ten or less as he was injured for a period while at Palmeiras.

    Summer 2018 Transfer Thread

I´ve been keeping an eye on Mina since he was at Santa Fe here in Colombia a few years back. It´s probably bollocks as he´s only in the door at Barca after a protracted enough transfer, but if there´s a chance, we should take it. He´s got the physical presence to be suited to the game in England and even though he´s a tall lad (bout 6 4 I think) he´s no slouch and he can play a bit too. Would be a great threat from set plays too. Like I said, probably bollocks as like any South American, getting to Barca has been a big thing for him. Was always going to need time to setlle in there after moving to Europe, but wouldn´t surprise me if he featured a lot more next year. If there´s any truth in it and there´s a chance, do it, and do it before the World Cup as he could easily be a break out player there.
