We would be better off with rafa still here, fact as he would say. He knows the squad better and is better then woy in every area. He would definitly have got a winger and striker as it was clear to everyone last year we needed these,judging by speculation last season we would have signed Kenwene Jones who looking at him now would have been a success and rafa would have tried krasic who would also have been a welcome addition.

Would be a top signing, a target man with skill, dont see city loaning him to us though.

Valencia went with an up and coming young manager from their country after failures with big names and have slowly improved and got back to champs league places. Rather then take their manager who has no experience in english football I would rather we do something similar to what they did and go with a up and coming young manager from our country who plays attacking football in coyle.

Rafa would be my first choice but I would take Coyle as I dont see rafa coming back as next manager. Coyle will be a top manager imo no doubt, I have been very impressed with him since he went to burnley.He went there they had no money and he had to sell his best player in laferty,he managed to get them up on peanuts and got them playing good football. He has shown he gets the best out of players, plays attractive football and I think he is the kind of man liverpool fans warm to.

Does anyone know who was responsible for signing suso,sterling and Ngoo? We are always saying how shit our scouting is but these 3 look like top prospects to me, whoever signed them credit where its due.

He has had a bad season though like rafa, he finished outside the top four with a team he had been managing longer then rafa with more money in a shitter league. So Im assuming going on what I read on here about rafa most will view him as a shit fat italian cunt. I would take him but its not gonna happen.

Won 2 leagues with a team that hadnt won it in 30 years against 2 massive teams with much bigger budgets. Took liverpool from being a former giant and rarely qualifying for champs league to 2 champs finals in 3 years, most of the time getting to the latter stages and getting us closest to the title since we last won it again competing against teams spending a lot more. Everyone knew who ever took over at inter would flop, and rafa was not helped by the squad being weakend and the owner coming out every week saying something. I dont think the inter spell will hurt rafas cv as much as some think and his record before that stands up against most mangers in the world in the last 10 years.

Rafa knows everything about the team, club and fans, loves lfc and is still loved by most fans. He is one of the top managers in the world and knows where our team needs to improve,he has shown what he can do here so for all these reasons he is the best candidate in my eyes. Id like rafa haters views on ancellotti, if rafa is shit after 1 bad season what is their view on carlo?he had managed ac for longer then rafa and had more time to build his team, he was also spending as much if not more then their rivals but still had a bad season and finished outside the top 4 in a shitter league then the prem, so if rafa is viewed as shit after one season the carlo must be worse no?

I agree he is good in cm but I would not be calling him a success, to me he is a good prem cm but i dont see any outstanding qualities like xabis passing or maschs defensive work for example. He is also 27 or 28 so he is not going to improve very much, I think we over payed for him from what Ive seen, even porto fans at the time couldnt believe how much they got and while he is roys best signing I can only consider him decent and would have preferred the money to be spent on other positions. As for roy with transfers his short record here has shown he can not be allowed any more input in to that area if he is to stay.

Why are all these people who dont rate rafa and dont care about what he is doing posting in every fucking thread about him? Some of the nonsense on here is unbelieveable, like the dick who said he whored himself out to juve, the way I remember it juve went all out to get him with one of their players coming out every week praising him and rafa prefering to stay at lfc. Also rafa didnt want to go inter, ballague his mouth piece while he was here said he would not want to go to inter as he no one would be able to better jose and they had an old squad which needed new players. Saly for rafa he tried to stay loyal and when he was sacked the juve job was gone,if he went there he would have had a lot of money to spend and would have only been expected to get top 4. It is clear his thoughts about inter when he was here were right and as the inter team has weakened since he went there it is no surprise they are struggling. Rafas loyalty to lfc has back fired on him and to say he whored himself out is an insult, this man turned down his boyhood team a couple of times to stay with us aswell.

Woy is so defensive its embarassing, even in a game when the outcome doesnt matter he has us camped in our half leaving them have the ball as much as they want in their half. One positive is Aurelio has been excellent and has shown he is light years ahead of konchesky, now he is fit he has to be put back in the first team for the prem games.

Some of our fans are really cunts, I would have thought the fact that rafa really loved lfc, done his best for us and fought against the owners with us would have made the fans respect him but we have cunts loving seeing him having problems. Torres is one of if not the best striker in the world and is playing in a team playing bottom half defensive football and his service is mostly long balls, cant really blame him for being pissed.

Benitez didnt flop your right, GH and Hodgson (mostly according to themselves) were supposedly big names when we got them and both had us playing appalling football and didnt take us forward. Ive never considered souness a big name manager.

Since I first seen coyle at burnley I thought he was going to be a future lfc manager, the guy is a class act and is the kind of manager I would like to see representing liverpool. He would be my first choice to replace hodgson now, in the summer I would not have said coyle because he has no experience of signing big money players but the situation at the club has changed now. We have comolli who will be handling transfers so the risk of coyle flopping in the market is gone (although he has done well in transfer market before), so with coyle we would be getting a great man manager, attacking football and a class guy representing liverpool. We have had a lot of big name managers who have flopped so I would be happy to give coyle the chance, if he can get bolton playing that kind of football imagine what he could do here.

Im getting nervous seeing these johnson stories popping up all the time,we have one of the top rbs in the world who is english and is coming to his prime and I woul be devastated if he is forced out by roy. Roy already fucked up big time with roberto carlos at inter I hope he isnt allowed to do the same here with johson.

Anyone saying GHs team left was better then rafas is either blinded with hate for rafa or know nothing about football. Any decent players left by GH had come through the club or were near the end.So for example if someone thinks hamman was a better player then masch, masch would still be the better player for an incoming manager as he had more years left in him and could raise more money from selling him, the same goes for Hypia/Agger comparisons etc. GHs team was worth probably 50m with 30-35m value being placed on gerrad who he never signed,Rafa left world class players in Reina,Johnson,Masch,and Torres all of which he signed. Also his squad players were better in comparison, Lucas-Biscan, Yossi-Smicer,Insua-Traore etc etc. GH left us in a mess with a shit team with no resale value, Rafa left us with with world class players and a top first 11 just lacking in depth, Gray is talking utter bollocks.

I watched about 90% of inters games from jan til the end of last season and I see a lot of reasons why rafa is having problems. Inter has an ageing squad that peaked last season, they were struggling at the end of last season and just about got first in a shit league last year where there only contenders where a shit roma who got beat by teams like panathinikos. This year serie a has improved with a lot of teams improving there squad including their main rivals milan who have signed 2 of the top attacking players in europe while inter have sold players and brought in no one.Inter are also have a lot of injurys so it is not rocket science to see why they are struggling. Inter were not a super team last year imo, they done well in the champs league but in italy had no real competition,rafa must have thought he woud be able to add to the squad when he got there especially letting players like balotelli go. Any manager would have struggled at inter following last season but even more so with inter standing still while all there rivals improved their teams.

Bent is a good striker no doubt but I dont see him and torres forming a good partnership, we are in desperate need of someone who can hold the ball up and keep it in the other teams half.

This may be a blessingin disguise as carra has been out of form for a while and a couple of months rest may benefit him. I have been really impressed with wilson in the reserve games I have seen and he reminds me of agger,people bringing up the northampton game should remember he played out of position at lb. I hope he gets a few games but I would have soto and skrtel as first choice for prem games.

Masch was playing cack at this stage last year and rafa was dealing with an injury crisis which included his key players. Roy has had most of his key players fit this season apart from last game and has had 20m to improve the squad so shouldnt he be doing better then rafa, not to forget we have had 2 of our worst defeats in history to blackpool and northampton.

Rafa is not prefect but he is the best ma for the game.Seeing how close he got us to the prem and how well he made us perform in europe with terrible backing he is the obvious choice for next manager if he became available. Torres and Reina love him so there would be more chance of them staying if he was here,Rafa has unfinished buissness here and I think if the owners are looking for a new manager he is the best candidate. I want him back he is one of the top 5 managers in the world and loves the club, people say this is not important but at liverpool at is, we have all been apalled by hodgsons realationship with the fans and we need a manager who will fight with and for us. A manager like Jose or someone else who just wants to be here for a couple of years and use us as a stepping stone is not for liverpool. If people want us back in the champs league contending the rafa needs to come back,any other manager will take us years to get back to challenging, they have to get used to the league and work out the prem and team while rafa knows everything needed. I am ashamed of the fans against rafa as imo they are just haters or know nothing about football,this man turned down madrid numerous times and did not want to leave us for anyone, the way some people have based his time on one bad season where all his key players were injured is not fair.

Shit tactics there by roy yet again, go one up and then put everyone behind the ball. We were getting dominated in the first half and were lucky to get in ahead, if meireles wass injured the obvious sub was to bring on poulsen and move gerrad behind torres and kuyt out wide,bringing on a young player with no experience of playing an away game in the prem when we were getting dominated was a shocking decision. Roys tactics are plain woeful and it is not hard to see why his teams struggle away from home, his style is not suited to a top club he will not change so he must go.

I find it baffling that we signed him on a 3 year contract when it is clear he isnt getting a look in this season with 4 other cbs at the club, he looks a very good prospect but as I see it we are going to loose him in a couple of seasons for free or small fee as he is going to be fed up not getting any games, he hasnt even played in the europa games.

Sanchez and young for the wings, a target man, and a few top youngters ready to be in the squad brought in by comolli is my hope.
